Just purchased a new washer and dryer (1/12/26) from Strafford Appliance Co. and I am very disappointed with their service. When purchasing the units I told the sales person, Michael Bondi, that the dryer door needed to be opening in the opposite direction. He stated that was not a problem. The unit was delivered with the door opening the wrong way. I contacted Strafford, and they stated I would need a tech to come over at my expense to change things over. We just had a wonderful experience with Stafford Appliance. We started with their service department in an attempt to repair a dishwasher that came with our house. They were prompt and attentive. We decided to purchase a new dishwasher. They are price competitive with larger chains but you get to deal with real people who are paying attention to you. Sherri was responsive and excellent in guiding us throughout the process. They suggest K + P Home Improvements for the install. We got a call from them right away and the dishwasher was installed within the same week. They were fabulous too. read more

I've bought several appliances from them over 20 years. Our fridge, which owed us nothing, eventually died. They came out and gave it a look, but it was beyond help. I was able to order a replacement and have it delivered with little effort on my part. Their delivery team worked so hard to get it in a too narrow doorway and succeeded. I've owned two fridges, an oven and a washing machine from Strafford. They've serviced them all when needed and I've always felt they're very fair in pricing. Highly recommend. read more

I just had the best and easiest experience purchasing a new dishwasher at Strafford Appliance in Dover, NH. Matt, the sales person was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions honestly. I was able to make a decision as to which dishwasher would work best for me and immediately felt confident in my choice. The frosting on the cake was delivery and installation. Phil and his partner from K & P Improvements, Inc were on time and worked in professional harmony the way all installation people should work. They not only did a beautiful job installing but they were finished in record time, cleaned up the mess and gave me simple instructions on how the dishwasher works. The reversal of doors on washer and dryer were included in setup, at no charge, as part of purchase agreement. The washer was delivered after two weeks, and the delivery driver said the door would be reversed when they delivered the dryer. Dryer still wasn't available after two months, and the sales person said good luck getting one from another store when I asked him if anyone else had the same model, which was the matching model to the washer. We found one that same day at Lowe's, and they installed it two days later, reversing the door. They wouldn't reverse the washer door, as it wasn't purchased from Lowe's. I had Strafford reverse the door on the washer, but they reneged on the agreement to revers the door, as I purchased the dryer from someone else. HUH?? I wanted to buy the dryer from them, but the only reason I did it was because Strafford couldn't get the dryer after two months. I won't buy from them again, as they aren't trustworthy and honest. Update 01/12/2021: The owner of Strafford appliance called me, and said he agreed that I shouldn't have had to pay to have the door reversed; and refunded the $95. A true gentleman. read more

In this time of box stores with staff who barely can pronounce the brand names, it is so refreshing to find an appliance dealer who is knowledgeable and service-oriented. Apparently this store is part of a buying group that enables it to match the prices of the big "discount " stores. And the personal attention and service are far above the box stores. Huge fan...Had some problems with trim for two appliances.,( we ordered a whole suite of Frigidaire professional)...They ordered replacements, and delivered as soon as they came in free. They worked with manufacturer to make us happy. Very pleased with the whole experience, mostly because they beat State Street by $$600 dollars!!! read more

Once again after visiting a big box store with 3 very unmotivated associates who took 5 minutes to acknowledge my presence...do you need help? No I thought I'd pass the time of day watching the 3 of you talk. I had an extremely loud refrigerator and had called one appliance repair place left a message no response. I looked online and strafford appliance came up for repairs. I called the number and spoke to richard who obviously knew his appliances. I gave him the model number and he had the fan in stock and made an appointment for the following morning. They were right on time and took very little time to fix my issue and my refrigerator is as quiet as can be. Great service, I'll be sure and buy my next appliance there. read more

What happened to friendly, informative, knowledgeable sales help? I ordered all new appliances here and months later noticed that the freezer door on the Fisher-Paykel was severely dented. They were getting a lot of push back from the company representative (because my notification was so late) but eventually after weeks of back and forth Strafford got it done for me and the freezer door was replaced. Only to find out it only cost $100! I had meant to write this a year ago, but again got very busy, but noticing once again dents. I have not dropped anything on the door, I don't believe it was the delivery from the first time that caused the larger dents that Strafford took care of either, now I am certain, it's the freezer door. It must be made of thin tin. I would recommend these guys again, but I will pay whatever it takes NOT TO EVERY BUY A FISHER-PAYKEL frig/freezer again read more

My parents moved to Somersworth almost 60 years ago. They have always supported local businesses and enjoyed the more personal interaction. The cost of anything at smaller businesses is always higher, but for them it has always worth the cost to have the face to face experience. The last washer/dryer that they purchased from Strafford Appliance has changed their mind about the ease of shopping locally. Basically, Strafford Appliance sold them the appliances and then were done with them. The top load washer was horrible. The close would come out completely twisted and knotted up, and the machine wouldn't drain completely. The most clothing they would put in the machine was no more than what I would call a medium size. The machine was never overloaded. When they contacted Strafford Appliance, they were told by the gentleman that answered the phone that his wife had one, and that was how it worked. Seriously?!!? They were then directed to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer had someone locally attempt to fix it on two different occasions. It went on for months. The manufacturer finally swapped their machine for a new one. If you are looking for personal service, don't bother with Strafford Appliance. They are not there to help anyone if something goes wrong. They are only there to sell product.You can purchase an appliance anywhere for significantly less. read more

I will never do business with this company again. We bought an entire suite of appliances for our remodeled kitchen...refrigerator , stove, dishwasher , microwave. We immediately had problems with the refrigerator..delivery people scratched and dented the door. Called them to replace it ...2 weeks later they finally did but the door was out of alignment with other door. Called them again...2 weeks later new door replaced but still didn't align. Tech said frame was bent on entire fridge. Called Strafford again. was told I needed to call Frigidaire myself. Shortly after the entire refrigerator stopped cooling due to misalignment of doors. I have gone 2 weeks with no refrigerator and it seems as though Strafford Appliance could care less . If I did not call the service department daily I probably would never hear from them. Update-- My husband sent a letter to Strafford Appliance explaining our situation and addressed it to owner/management. George called us as soon as he received the letter. He seemed very willing to try and help make things right. Another tech was sent out. Unfortunately this tech could not find a problem with the machine either. The problem is very random and only happens in about 1 out of every 6 - 10 washes. George has offered to take the machine back for 70% of what we paid. read more

We just moved to Dover and thought we would support our local merchants. WHAT A MISTAKE. We bought a washer and dryer from Strafford Appliance and the first time they delivered them the dryer was damaged. The second dryer they delivered wouldn't heat. They told us to hire an electrician because it was an electrical problem. We hired an electrician who told us it wasn't an electrical problem. It turns out the pigtail we bought from the store was defective. When we went back to the store to ask for reimbursement for the electrician we were told the owner was "on vacation" and would call us back in two days. Guess what? It's been five days and he still hasn't called us back. We've learned our lesson and will only buy from the BIG BOX STORES from now on. At least they have a guarantee policy. read more

They don't return phone calls, take weeks to get a part in and cannot finish the repair which should have been done weeks ago. And their attitude seems to be that they just couldn't care less.
