Me and my 2 year old son got our hair cut here for the first time. The wait was not bad. The place is small but it's Hebron so it doesn't need to be expansive. The price was good. The cuts were good. One of my favorite books is called the e-myth revisited by Michael gerber. He writes about how small businesses need to be consistent in their approach and execution. He describes a time when he got his hair cut by a barber and everything was great the first time then the next time it wasn't quite as good. And eventually his experience turns poor. And he fails to go back. I didn't realize until now how much of an impact that book had on me. Today I got my 2nd cut and it was just as good as the first time. I can firmly say I'm done with the large chain chop shops and will only go here.

Obviously, I couldn't take her with me to CT and I was going to need to find another barber. I wasn't looking forward to the process of trying out a bunch of different barbers again - that experience was a nightmare (No man asks for a Dorothy Hamill cut damnit!). But ready or not I was going to have to put myself back out there. Today I found Havana Fran's by luck - I needed to go to the ACE next door - and they were able to squeeze me in close to closing time. The shop itself is a cute little space that the crew clearly care for. The service was absolutely wonderful and my barber was a great conversationalist who balances talking about dogs with quick questions about stylistic preferences. Overall atmosphere, haircut quality, and enjoyment is easily 10/10 and I have found my new barber!

Susan @ Raphael is amazing! I walked in, with no appointment and waited less than 10 minutes before she was able to see me. I have thick Italian dark hair and she handled it perfectly. She respected my style, my part, and specifically how much I wanted cut (7.5 inches by the end of it all!). I didn't realize till the end that she had actually stayed open after hours to finish my cut & style, plus clean up! It was a Friday night and I was desperate for a cut and she made me feel right at home and never rushed. Susan is very sweet, and the salon is very clean and accommodating. One of the three barbers left while I was waiting and several walk-ins were seated before me. I was finally seated about an hour later. The hair cut was good not great. Today I went back as a walk-in. I arrived shortly before 2:00, the 3 chairs were filled with one person waiting. Again, no greeting, no inquiry as to if I had an appointment, I had to look down to verify I was indeed visible. As I waited my turn, one after one walk ins came in and were taken ahead of me, seemingly because they knew the guys. After waiting 30 minutes a guy walks in, says hello to one of the barbers and the barber asks if he has an appointment, he responds he does not. He was taken next. 45 minutes into my wait one of the 3 barbers leaves. Someone finally addresses me to inform me that if I wish to continue waiting it will be another hour. Wow! So I ask if I can make an appointment for the next day, dude looks at his phone and says "maybe come in tomorrow around 2:00". Trying to support young local business' I agree, but he didn't ask my name and didn't make any notation on his phone or paper. I think they do a decent job, but unless you know them, find a place that honors appointments and takes walk ins based on when they walked in. I'd rather pay a few more dollars in exchange for my time being respected.
