She was a very beginner with no experience on a mountain bike, and I already two seasons of riding in out West. We both equally benefited from the course; she was able to develop a solid foundation of skills, and I was able to correct some of the bad habits I developed being self-taught. Nobody should be intimidated by the course, as the first half of the class was off the trail going over the very basics. The second half of the class was the group ride through some of the "green and blue" single track trails at Trapps all together with a leader and a sweeper. In just four hours I felt so much more comfortable with my riding and gained a better trust in what my bike is capable of. To top it off, we had an amazing group of women in our class. Our Instructors Shelly and Shannon were amazing and made everyone feel comfortable and they made sure we all had fun.

Note that buying tickets online does NOT mean it's any faster than purchasing onsite. You still have to get in a line to 'exchange' the online purchase for the actual ticket (which is essentially a plastic card with your name written with a marker). The ride is awesome & their process to get people off & on works out very well. The staff is so friendly - this was refreshing! Going doing peak foliage season like we did was worth it. We went to the Cliff House for our lunch reservations. The views did not disappoint. I also noticed a handful of people walking along the trails down the mountain with their dogs. It's expensive but worth the experience!

The gondola moves very slowly, so you get to enjoy the views for as long as possible. I am a tad afraid of heights and there were some times where I was getting a little panicked. A gate code is needed to access the campground. We rented a cabin here. There are four. Two of them are 'deluxe' and have indoor cook tops. The others do not allow indoor cooking and have grills outside. The kitchen was very well kitted with everything you could need. The Deluxe cabin we rented was decorated in a cabin style with bear and moose motif items. A table for two in the kitchen, a couch for two or three and a nice rocker. A small desk is in the corner of the livingroom with a kitchen chair for seating. Hooks for coats and a place for shoes by the door. The gas fireplace is shut off in the summer because the pilot heats up the cabin. They are on from Septemer 1st. The bedroom has a queen bed, (linens and blankets provided) full dresser, bedside tables, another kitchen chair (a total of four in the cabin) and luggage rack. Two narrow closets included hangers, extra pillows and towels for the pool or hot tub. Three quarter bath was well maintained. Two bath towels and one hand towel. Hand soap on vanity. Hair dryer and extra TP under sink. Shelves for toiletries. Clothes hook on back of door. Two seats and a table are on the front porch. Our parking space was in front of the porch. A picnic table and firepit are to the right of the porch, at the end of the parking space. Our porch faced the gravel road into the campground. The campground is tiered from the road down to the river with camper spots on each tier. No spots are directly on the river. A field designated as a dog exercise area is next to the river, then a small, rocky beach to the river. The road noise is heard throughout the campground, even at the brook where the river babbles over the stones, which is very pleasant. The onsite store rents tubes for riding the river. A path to the left of the dog area ends where you can put the tube in the water, ride it to the end of the beach and repeat the process. Laundry, public bathrooms and shower bathrooms are in a newer, climate controlled building near the playground. A pass code is needed to enter. Two pools and a hot tub are near the office/store. Mini-golf is behind the store. Dump station on the way out near the dumpsters. Gravel roads are maintained. Some site have full hook-up, fire pit and picnic table. Very pet friendly.

We had one little glitch and it was taken care of immediately and even though it wasn't a huge issue to us, we were told we were being compensate and we weren't even particularly upset or even thought we would get a discount. They are that serious about your stay being seamless and perfect. When we first booked, I wasn't so sure about staying there as we hadn't been to Stowe in 15 years, but when we arrived I wasn't so sure blown away! We are definitely going back and will be staying with Sun and Ski Resort. They have a nice little complimentary breakfast, coffee all day, and cookies in the afternoon. For a fee, there is a bowling alley and miniature golf which are extremely well maintained. The pool was very clean and the lounges soooo comfy with cushions on them. You'll find a total of 3 guests rooms, so no worries about a crowd. Sue also opens her home to local leaders of message, yoga, and meditation sessions. The inn is located on a hill near the village center and provides opportunities for walking down to Galaxy book store and other small shops or a walk through the country on a dirt road.

The views of the pond and mountains were breathtaking and the staff working on the property as well as there bed and breakfast were incredible. They helped us with all of our needs and made sure to make this event even more special. In the end we had a blast here! The views were gorgeous, the grounds were phenomenal and the staff here was great. We look forward to coming here in the future to travel their hiking trails as well as marvel at their views again. On little piece of advice, this place has no cell service, so be prepared to enjoy their incredible views with limited technological interruptions.

We especially liked the wood-fired pizza, and the lemon brownies were great too. They also were very accommodating to our 8-year old daughter's picky tastes. I have to give a shout out to all the ones we met: Tiffany and Chris (innkeepers), Kate and Nan (working mornings and breakfast), and Adam (dinner shift). They were all so kind and thoughtful, and they really made us feel at home. 3. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful, and the pond was really quite a sight to behold. We enjoyed getting out on the rowboat, and the trails around the Lodge were awesome for nature watching. The remoteness of the Lodge was unique to us, since we're from overcrowed Florida. 4. The proximity to other state parks in Groton State Forest was nice, and we especially enjoyed swimming at Boulder Beach. The town of Groton was charming too, and the ice cream and mead tasting at Arteseno was well worth a stop. 5. Our room was very cozy and comfortable, and it was nice to sleep with the windows open in the summer (did I mention we live in Florida?). We also really enjoyed the common area, and were able to keep in touch with outside world with their free wi-fi, which worked very well. The board games and books in the common room kept our daughter busy too. 5. Finally, the other guests we met at the Lodge were very nice, and we felt enriched by meeting them. Mike, Jackie, Josie, and Langston were very charming, and it was nice too to meet Florian, visiting all the way from Germany. The only weird thing about Seyon is why it was relatively empty the week we were there, but I guess it's still way off the beaten path and still being discovered. But you really should check it out and enjoy it like we did. I hope to go back again soon.
