Check-in at the store where you will find souveniers, cold beverages, firewood, toys, pet supplies and some food items. Car and RV parking is in front of the building. A gate code is needed to access the campground. We rented a cabin here. There are four. Two of them are 'deluxe' and have indoor cook tops. The others do not allow indoor cooking and have grills outside. The kitchen was very well kitted with everything you could need. The Deluxe cabin we rented was decorated in a cabin style with bear and moose motif items. A table for two in the kitchen, a couch for two or three and a nice rocker. A small desk is in the corner of the livingroom with a kitchen chair for seating. Hooks for coats and a place for shoes by the door. The gas fireplace is shut off in the summer because the pilot heats up the cabin. They are on from Septemer 1st. The bedroom has a queen bed, (linens and blankets provided) full dresser, bedside tables, another kitchen chair (a total of four in the cabin) and luggage rack. Two narrow closets included hangers, extra pillows and towels for the pool or hot tub. Three quarter bath was well maintained. Two bath towels and one hand towel. Hand soap on vanity. Hair dryer and extra TP under sink. Shelves for toiletries. Clothes hook on back of door. Two seats and a table are on the front porch. Our parking space was in front of the porch. A picnic table and firepit are to the right of the porch, at the end of the parking space. Our porch faced the gravel road into the campground. The campground is tiered from the road down to the river with camper spots on each tier. No spots are directly on the river. A field designated as a dog exercise area is next to the river, then a small, rocky beach to the river. The road noise is heard throughout the campground, even at the brook where the river babbles over the stones, which is very pleasant. The onsite store rents tubes for riding the river. A path to the left of the dog area ends where you can put the tube in the water, ride it to the end of the beach and repeat the process. Laundry, public bathrooms and shower bathrooms are in a newer, climate controlled building near the playground. A pass code is needed to enter. Two pools and a hot tub are near the office/store. Mini-golf is behind the store. Dump station on the way out near the dumpsters. Gravel roads are maintained. Some site have full hook-up, fire pit and picnic table. Very pet friendly. read more

Family owned RV campground. All the staff are extremely friendly and get to know the guests. They keep the park immaculate. Very nice laundry room. They email you when you have a package arrive in the office. The office has a variety of beverages and other small things you might need including ice. Patrick although he was extremely busy and worked, I think seven days a week made time to stop and chitchat with everybody. read more

Where did this place come from? What a great find! I usually do not review often,but this is an absolute gem.

Mountain View Campground was the closest one we could find near Stowe, Vermont and the owners are very friendly and helpful and the amenities are great. The sites are big and grassy and it's just a short walk to a lovely river where you can tube and explore. At night, you can see a huge blanket of stars - that's incredible! They have two pools (one for adults only) and a hot tub. We were surprised we'd use it but it was nice after hiking all day. The washer and dryer area was very clean and in great working order. Negatives: They were doing road work on the way in which was difficult especially with the coach and you could hear some traffic noise on the road in the mornings. read more

Mountain View campground, was probably the most immaculately kept campground that I've ever been at. The attention to cleanliness in detail is absolutely amazing. We rented a spot for a tent, it was number nine, which overlooks the role of tents that are placed near the river. The tent camping area is basically a cleared rectangle with little in the way of trees, except surrounding it. The tents along the river are basically in a row, with no trees separating the sites. We thought that number nine was probably one of the better spots, because it had so much room, and was not near other tents. If you are along the river, you will have neighbors generally speaking, along your right and left sides. Of course you will also hear the river, which sounds amazing. Our seven year old daughter loves swimming in the pool all day, which was clean and well-kept. Tubes are available for floating down the river, but the river was really shallow the week we were there. There are horseshoes, and shuffleboard and games for the kids. There is Mountain View snack bar right across the street, which is not related to the campground, but is a solid Vermont-type snack bar. It is about 20 minutes from Stowe. There is a fantastic Mennonite farm stand with baked goods and veggies a couple miles down the road. We would definitely go again. read more

While driving from Maine, we were trying to find a place to pitch our tent for the night. The other campgrounds closer to Stowe were all sold out of tent sites. This location was sold out of tent sites too, but they offered to let us snag an RV site. Amazing! We prepaid over the phone and the staff was friendly and helpful when we arrived to check in. Camp site is located right on the river and there is a great pizza and snack bar right across the street you can walk to. They literally have every menu item you can imagine. Score! So glad we found this place via Google. Showers are coin operated. Took me 2 tries to figure out I had to wiggle the coin machine from "on" to "start" to get it going. Laundry room is in the same building as the showers. Bonus of the RV site is there is a power box where you can plug stuff in so you can charge your phone and camera battery. . Has it's own breaker switches too. Awesome! read more

As a city girl, this is why I do: * Two pools * A hot tub * Mini Gold for the kiddies * Pool Table an arcade games * Wifi * It's on a beautiful river * Close to Stowe Sounds like good camping, right!? :) You ARE sleeping outside so I guess you could still get eaten buy a bear (that is, if you're not bringing your camper, or renting a cabin...) but that's about as rough as it gets here. This was a pleasant Campground to stay at, felt welcomed very friendly and warm Owners immediately and thoroughly explained everything and everything you need right in the office area including a Library with a variety of books and movies ( including Rated R if it's an Adult Camping Trip, including beer wine so not uptight about drinking like many State Parks and palatable snacks . It's $65 for 2 nights ( 30 deposit ) for Tent Camping ( Fire Pitt and Picnic Table ) which is a pretty good deal considering all the amenities. The firewood was only $7, cheaper prices than you'll pay in typical Grocery Stores . Also souvenirs and cute kids toys , which is also a win for any age and never know if it rains . Fun free causal Sports like Miniature Golf, Air Hockey and Pool so you get all that but outside in the open versus a hot sweaty packed bar so it's a win . The hot tub wasn't working when we went unfortunately but at least there's a heated pool that was very clean and free from poop , band-aids and other nuisances . Tub rentals with handles for the River is only $5 always a plus especially for families . The landscape was really nice and overlooked one of the best Rivers I've ever seen , luckily got a close spot to and ample parking for cars , didn't feel packed in too close to vehicle . If you're too lazy to go old school and cook on the fire perhaps when you first get there and likely tired / famished they have a Food Stand , literally everything where not just talking Chips and Hotdogs, everything from extensive appetizers , meaty dinners , a lunch pizza special for only $5 like it should be to elaborate desserts if you forgot S'mores ..whatever you're in the mood for , bulking up to stay warm or a quick snack -attack . Clean bathrooms , don't feel like you're gonna get every disease in the book brushing you're teeth and face , paid showers in change if you take long showers load up on quarters . The noise is a happy medium , didn't feel like you had to go full silence as soon as it got dark like the whole Site could hear you bite a graham cracker or zip a tent zipper but also quiet enough to get some sleep at a reasonable time and people aren't loud and obnoxious early in the morning ( No roosters), people,just go about their business quietly . Definitely friendly for any situation roughing it out and not at the same time fitting for Urban people to , and plenty to do so I highly recommend it . read more

This campground is beautiful! I don't think I've ever been to a campground where the facilities were so clean. The bathrooms and showers were spotless and felt clean inside. When you step in the bathroom you don't even feel like it's at a campground . I thought I've been to clean campgrounds before but nothing will ever come close to this place again! The grounds are well maintained and grassy. There is a huge river where you can swim in or rent tubes from the camp store to float down. They even have a small dog park! At night it was so quiet no obnoxious seasonals or anything. Every person we talked to weather camper or worker was so friendly. The sites feel a little close together since there are no trees/bushes separating them but everyone was respectable of each other around them. I love this place thank you for a great stay! read more

BEST campground EVER. We set up our tent and then shortly after a terrible storm (60 MPH winds, trees down) came through and destroyed our tent and soaked our stuff. Kids were traumatized. Camping for the night was ruined. All the hotels in the area were full, so the super nice manager offered put us up in one of their beautiful cabins *** AT NO EXTRA CHARGE, WOW!! *** -- queen bed, full bath, hot shower, air conditioner, satellite TV, fridge, stove. We could not believe it. When he saw we were in a bind, he just offered out of the blue! Made our day! One of the nicest things someone has ever done for us. Easily the nicest thing someone has ever done for us camping. Period. I give my highest recommendation possible. I never write online reviews, but made sure to go out of my way for this place. Also it's a beautiful campground. The tent sites were as good as it gets. Right on the river, under a beautiful trees. Huge spacious clean flat soft grassy areas to set up, camp and play in. All tent stakes went in nicely without ever hitting a single rock. Fishing, swimming, tubing on the river. (If fishing, look for a little spring that enters the river all the way down on the right. Lots of bites.) Pools immaculately maintained. The drier in the laundry room was great for drying all our stuff for the night. Clean bathrooms. Not a single complaint. Nicest people. Very nice open inviting lounge in the office with comfy couches and a big screen TV. read more

2018 and the management is new. We had heard all the stories from the previous owners but the new owners are making changes that make it much more camper friendly. There are many sites right along the Lamoille River. 2 Pools, mini golf for the kids, horse shoe pits and shuffle board. All for FREE. Nice dry firewood available. New this year are many of the picnic tables. Just a nicely maintained and friendly staffed campground. Glad we decided to go and will most certainly consider another visit again. read more

Very clean but not a lot going on. Lodge on website is very deceiving, small. 2 pools and very limited access to a river flowing behind the property. Although there are two Wi-Fi networks, one was sporadic at best and the other we could never log on to. No scheduled events for the entire week we were there. Very limited camp store. Best part is that it is near Stowe and some local breweries and Ben and Jerry's isn't far. read more
