It felt like we were eating inside a cave. Amazing food and great wine selection. The wagyu steak was so savory and flavorful. Staff were amazing! Would recommend this place if you're in town.

Great place for a date night. This restaurant is located inside of a 'cave' at Cliff Castle Casino. The ambiance is quiet and romantic. The menu is small and leaning toward the steakhouse vibe. The food is hit or miss, but mostly on point. The caesar salad with anchovies is delicious, although a bit high for what you get. I ordered the Flat-Iron Steak (Ten-ounce Certified Angus Beef with a Crawfish Beurre Blanc, Smashed Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes & Grilled Asparagus) and it was crazy spicy, even though no heat level was mentioned. We love the friendly service here and the wine is reasonably priced.

What a beautiful birthday treat. A delightful menu and we enjoy the cave dwelling atmosphere.

My husband and I enjoy coming here for special occasions - such as birthdays and anniversaries as the prices can be high. I have tried many items over the years but personally love the salmon and the filet mignon. The staff has always been lovely and personable. And a bottle of Quilt is a must.

Reservation required. Small seating area and time frames. Worth the trip. Burata for an appetizer was delicious. The rack of lamb and diver scallops were both amazing. Except the veggies on lamb but those a red just a side note. The dessert tray is pretty and difficult to choose. Everything was very yummy. The service was great. The atmosphere a little strange but intimate. Go for the food!

The meal was excellent--the fish topped with shrimp was fresh, beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. The real surprise was the August cocktail menu. The drink menu is incredibly creative and sophisticated, with unusual house infusions, fresh herbs, amaros and ingredients you rarely see, even at dedicated craft cocktail bars. My cocktail was beautifully balanced, fresh and herbaceous--not overly sweet--and clearly made by someone who understands the art of a phenomenal drink. Great food, exceptional bar service and a genuinely fun atmosphere. Nic's was one of the highlights of my visit to Cottonwood and a place I would absolutely return to. Highly recommend sitting at the bar! Especially if you're traveling solo with the great service you'll never feel alone.

There were three of us, and did not have a reservation. They offered the bar, which we accepted. Started with drinks. We are at a steakhouse, so went with a classic old fashioned, which was good. Ended up ordering two. For starters, had calamari, the New Zealand Mussels and clam chowder. All were excellent. For dinner, did the bone in rib eye with baked potato. Again, everything was great. The only thing on the steak was that there was a little too much butter. Butter is good, but not in abundance. The ambiance was what you'd expect for an old school steak house, dark interior, booths and a classic bar.

They served some alcohol. You have to buy it, of course. The entertainment was funny and great. Loved all the songs they sang. Dinner started at 7pm. Entry to dinner started at 6:30pm. All the young servers were great. They were busy and helpful. They had animals, birds, mini golf, this 4 table ping pong table, escape room, axe throwing, old photo shoot ($15pp), mini museum, big chess game, connect 4, etc. But we didn't get to enjoy all the games because we accidentally took the long way to get to Blazin' M Ranch. The owners, Suzanne & Randy, have created a special dining experience in the heart of Verde Valley Wine Country. This hidden gem offers an eclectic menu that truly sets it apart from anything else in the area. To steal my wife's description, "Manzanita Restaurant is a culinary oasis in the middle of nowhere, where flavors collide, and memories are made." SERVICE: The staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's obvious that they take pride in ensuring a memorable dining experience. We couldn't have felt more welcome or had better dining experiences on both visits. WINE: Manzanita has a decent selection of wines by the glass and bottle. It's not the largest, but there's something to pair with all dishes. Both times we had a fantastic bottle of Zinfandel from Geyserville, CA, which paired great with our meat entrées. The bottle price is very reasonable, as we used to be members of that winery and know what they charge. FOOD: Outstanding gourmet game specialties and German delights. We've tried several soups, sides, and main dishes and have enjoyed them all. Soups of the Day have ranged from Pumpkin Purée, Ostrich, to Manhattan Clam Chowder. Salads can be added as a side or as an entrée, including adding Chicken Breast or Grilled Salmon. We've also tried a couple appetizers like the Edamame & Roasted Brussel Sprouts In a ginger soy glaze with sesame seeds, and the French Escargot served in mushroom caps with garlic herb sauce. Main entrées we've tried include an Orange Roughy Special with red cabbage, a Manzanita Salad with Chicken Breast, Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Bison Tenderloin with vegetable medley, Venison Medallions Special with a creamy mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes, Antelope Steak Special, and a Prime Rib Special. There's nothing I wouldn't hesitate to order again. I'm half German and love German cuisine, but amazingly I've yet to try anything from that part of the menu. They have a couple pasta dishes as well. The restaurant is not overly fancy or extremely modern, but it's slightly upscale, comfortable, and the food and service are both stellar. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a unique dining experience, this family restaurant won't disappoint. We can't wait for our next visit!

Over 2 years ago we came to this neighborhood gem and raved about how much we loved the place,…read moredespite being covid times. Fast forward to August 2024, a little over 2 years later and we came back. I don't think the prices went up (maybe a few bucks), the Covid plexiglass was gone, and people were seated more closely than last time. We think the menu is eclectic but we decided to stick with the German food. Instead of the pork shank I had last time, I tried the weiner schnitzel, with spatzle as my side and pumpkin soup as my starter. Soup was delicious (still loved my cream of broccoli last time). My entree unfortunately was underwhelming. For a quintessential German dish, I think it missed the mark. Stephen had the veal bratwurst and had half sauerkraut and half spatzle. He had no complaints. We shared a side dish of red cabbage, which is amazing! We came for Stephen's birthday and last time they gave a tiny little mousse with a candle to acknowledge the birthday. This time? We just got the check. A bit disappointed but my review doesn't reflect this. Service was ok. The restaurant had one server and one young lady as the water girl/ bus person, so I understand if they were running behind in things, like she forgot Stephen's beer twice, where even the water girl commented if we wanted another drink. It took a while to pay the check; we were going to pay with a card but ended up putting a $100 bill on the table, which more than covered the food and at least 20% tip. A bit disappointed with the second visit. I don't think it'll stop us from going back... we'll just lower our expectations. Last time it was a 5/5 This time? 3-1/2

Burger was decent but patty was thin and I couldn't tell if it was hand pressed or from frozen. Sampler was adventurous but wound up not being that great. Rattlesnake sausage tasted like pure smoke. Bison meatballs were tender (slightly gamey as most bison is) but decent. I liked the cactus fries with prickly pear sauce but family did not. Chicken sandwich was overdone to the point of being dry and extremely dark brown. (It was the last item to come out and we were told they were just waiting for it to cook.) Fries were good.
