We are so lucky that the bakery we found was La Bella Cakery! They were so nice, friendly, and accommodating, but even that took a backseat to the main event: the cake! It was incredible. Moist, delicious, creative, beautiful! The inside layers were all rainbow-colored, each with a corresponding layer of flavor to go with it. For example, the red layer had strawberries and the yellow had lemon curd. At the end of the night, we even scavenged the leftover crumbs when all of the cake had been cut because throwing them away seemed like such a waste of something so amazing. We are so grateful for La Bella Cakery! They are artists who use flour and eggs as their medium.

We ordered from Alexis, the owner at the bakery, last September and my husband spoke to her over the phone, placed the order, and we picked it up with no issues. I reached out via their website 3 weeks ago to get 2 smash cakes, 24 cake pops, and 24 cupcakes for my son's 1st birthday (very simple order). She did not respond back for over a week and we went back and forth via email. I asked for a phone call to just sort the order out a few times and she refused. She just kept asking for me to fill out the order form...again....and again...and again. Her emails made absolutely no sense to find out that she uses ChatGPT which was why. She wasn't even responding to my emails as herself even when I told her how upset I was. I left her multiple voicemails and have still not heard from her...only ChatGPT. Now with the party being only a week away, I could not rely on Alexis as I can't even get ahold of her so found another option.

She took the time even though she was very busy to individually wrap the cupcakes and tie them with a bow in the cutest box. She also gave us instructions on how to defrost them since they were frozen for the night. When I finally got home and was able to enjoy the cupcake, it was one of the best treats I've had in a very long time! it was perfectly sweet and just the right size for a nighttime snack. The store itself is absolutely beautiful and a delicate surprise for the Doylestown area. I can't wait to go back and try some other wonderfully displayed desserts and have a freshly made espresso from their beautiful equipment. The store is very large with lots of parking, but I absolutely recommend bringing a friend to grab a coffee and a treat together. This would be a cute place to have a few people for a small girls birthday!

We got their pumpkin bread, coffee cake, mini muffins, homemade pop tarts, scones, and English muffin bread. Everything was delicious. The real standouts were the English muffin bread and pumpkin loaf (seasonal). The English muffin bread was dense but chewy with an English muffin texted and tasty crust. Toasted with butter and jam, it was delicious. The pumpkin bread was very light and super moist. Would love to go back during their normal business hours to try more treats!

I was considering ordering a cake from ShopRite until I came across Sweet as Sugar Desserts. I'm so happy I found them because I prefer supporting local businesses, especially when they are POC and women owned. Right off the bat, the customer service was amazing. No more than 2 hours after I submitted the order form online, was I contacted by the proprietor Christiane. After a short email exchange, we spoke on the phone to communicate order specifics and to ensure she understood my "vision." And boy, did she come through! I already had a good sense of her decorating skills, but since there were no other reviews, I really did not know what to expect in terms of flavor. I ordered a tres leche cake with dulce de leche filling, and it frikken delicious!! The cake was perfectly moist, and the flavor of the filling was well balanced with the cake - which with this flavor combo can be overly sweet. But she really killed it and everyone loved it, the birthday girl especially. I couldn't recommend Sweet as Sugar Desserts enough!
