Our quest for storage was quite limited in early August in Madison, as you would expect. U-Haul was packed to the brim and we were left without many options. We have never needed a storage unit before, so we were a bit weary and unsure about how this all works. Luckily, we called StorQuest and they had several storage sizes available, including the larger size we were looking for. And unlike UHaul, none of the storage units had stairs or ramps - all on one floor with easy access. Ideal! The only issue we had was in getting the storage locker. Around 9am on a Saturday, we called to reserve a space and got mixed messages between the non-local call center ("Call an hour before you're ready to get your key!") and the StorQuest facility staff ("You need to set an appointment - 4pm today is the earliest we can do!"). This was frustrating - my advice is to call the facility itself. They know what's up. Also, if you call the StorQuest number - be sure to check the website first. There were a real "deals" that we had to specifically name to get the price. But, once we were in, our experience was great. We bought a lock while we checked in. Facility was clean. There were plenty of carts usually. There were several times having a covered garage area to pull into was a lifesaver in the rain. We always felt safe and it was well-lit. And, to top it off, as we moved out a staff member was able to close our account and we got reimbursed for the rest of the month's payment we had made earlier. That was an unexpected surprise that made our life so much easier. Overall, really impressed with StorQuest and I'd absolutely recommend. (4 stars only because of the hassle of reaching the non-local call line that seemed to be disconnected from the actual facility.) read more

I'm editing my review. After initially being quoted 1 price over the phone and then the customer rep trying to make me sign a higher price at the store and insisting that his price was final, I contacted the manager and he fixed the price to the one I was given over the phone. I appreciated this. Their pricing system is very, very complicated and is not designed for long term storage. It kind of feels like it is designed to trick the customer into increasingly higher payments. An initial new customer price quickly rises to nearly double that price over a year. I understand that climate controlled storage pays a premium but this storage might be the most expensive in the city for simple long term storage. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place unless you only need it for a few months or if you absolutely have to have climate controlled storage. The company could probably make more money with longer term, stable pricing that doesn't accelerate so high. Something like the first 4 months at a new customer discount and then an expected stable price is much, much easier for the customer to navigate. read more

Registration and move-in process went very well and site appears to be clean and well maintained, however, we began a rental in April for my daughter who attends U-Wisconsin Madison. After 2 payments, they randomly decided to increase the monthly rate with an email. Since we live in Boston we are stuck until late August. I'd discuss rate and make sure you are locked in if possible for the duration of the rental. I've reached out for an explanation, but not response from anyone with the company. read more

We recently needed a climate controlled storage unit and decided to go with StorQuest. The facilities seem clean, safe and secure. We worked with Emily and she was a pleasure to deal with. She helped us figure out the best size and number of storage units we would need and answered all of our questions without pressuring us to rent more than what we needed. read more

I am so very happy I made the choice to rent through StorQuest. They truly have been amazing, their customer service was just wonderful! Keith the manager was very personable and professional, his staff, a reflection of this as well. It it is more than a business, they are people who care. It is affordable! The amenities you get, the indoor storage, it is the best! I truly would trust in StorQuest, especially the 2602 Shopko Dr, Madison location. read more

I arrived at this facility on the day of my reservation, which I had confirmed with the company several times prior (including the night before), to find a notice on the door that the offices were unexplainably closed that day with not contact number or alternate times. I was stuck with a full truck packed with my entire apartment and movers being paid by the hour with nowhere to go. The first representative that I got in contact with when I arrived to see this tried calling the office (which I explained had the closed notice on it), told me that their schedule said they were open and that he "didn't have a solution for me." The second representative that I got on the phone actually took the time to problem solve but all she told me was that the new assistant manager had decided to close 2 Saturdays each month, but this was not communicated to anybody at the organization or apparently to clients with reservations. I was still getting notifications by email and text that my unit was ready, and nobody was aware that I would not actually be able to get access to my unit. Not to mention they had the size of my storage unit wrong in their system not matching what I had reserved online (and as indicated in my confirmation email). Finally a third representative who I told my situation to via text offered to find me another unit in my area but kept offering suggestions that were not what I needed (wrong size, not a location that would work for me, not climate controlled etc. without even bothering to ask me what it was I was looking for). I am completely appalled at the customer service. The inability for anybody to take any action to make sure I was able to get access to the storage unit that had been reserved came at a significant cost both in money (movers were stuck) and time (having to find a new unit last minute that wasn't the size I needed or in the location I could easily access). This completely derailed my move and caused significant stress during an already hectic process. There was little concern or apology from the company, and no communication about what had gone wrong. While I did not get to see the inside or any amenities the outside did not look welcoming or efficient for getting items in. Would not recommend. read more
