I came in on a busy Friday night in the fall. There was quite a wait because this is one of the only good restaurants in Frankfort. After a short wait, we found a table outside in their covered, heated patio. We shared a table we a family but the table was big enough to share so neither of us minded. The biggest drawback was that so many tables were done eating and just sitting there playing games provided by the restaurant. Maybe they want people to linger and be the long hangout spot but it was annoying as someone waiting to sit to see a bunch of people playing apples to apples. But whatever. Our server was really nice and checked on us a bunch. My biggest complaint was my boyfriends soup came up before either of us got our drinks. He got his soup, I got my flight of beer a few minutes later and then a few minutes after that his beer came. Then a big later my pizza came out. I wish we would've clarified that the soup was his meal, not an app because it would've been nice to eat together. Oh well. I would highly recommend this place but there will probably be a wait! read more

I have enjoyed Stormcloud Brewing many times. It is in the heart of Frankfort, right in the middle of the downtown action. In season there is a large outdoor space that really helps with seating. When we have been there, they have had good food, funky flavored popcorn, and good beer on tap. When we are in this part of Michigan, it is a favorite. read more

We drove over from Crystal Mountain for dinner and had a great time. Casual atmosphere, family friendly, and great staff. Our waitress was super sweet and knew the menu very well. We were going back and forth between a few things and she gave her recommendations- we were not disappointed. Just a heads up- they don't have a fryer, so if you have a picky toddler, don't expect French fries, but the cheese pizza will hit the spot. What impressed us most was seeing one of the owners helping out his staff clean off the tables and interacting with his guests. We will definitely be back when we come back up to Crystal. read more

We just loved Stormcloud! I had been to this brewery before, but this was my friends first time. He's been wanting to try it out for quite some time and I was excited he finally made it. This brewery can get quite busy so pack your patience. Not only is the brewery super cool, but the town of Frankfort, such a lovely town with awesome views of the lake. If you have time, take a nice stroll by the water. The scenic view is one of my favorites. One of the cool things about Stormcloud, besides their beers, the have a curling rink in the winter. It's so awesome watching them play. I've been here in the Winter and in the Spring. I love it all and especially the beers. I'm a Belgian fan and they do such a great job. They have good food too. Stopped in for a midweek lunch on a gorgeous June afternoon with family. Though told that our wait for an outside table would be about 30 minutes, we were happily surprised that the text that our table was ready came in under 10. Great start! The staff and servers were polite and helpful, although the service was a bit slow. Given the fact that they were training new waitstaff and the restaurant industry is still very much reeling from the pandemic, this was completely understandable and did not negatively impact our experience in any way. Most importantly, our meals were delicious!. The Foul Weather sandwich (grilled chicken, avocado, bacon, tomato, mozzarella, greens, garlic aioli, served on naan) was a table favorite and I would definitely order it again when we return. The Classic Cheese Flatbread Pizza served hot and bubbling, was also basic and delicious, with a truly outstanding crust. The sleeper, however, was the very innocent-sounding Truffle Oil & Fresh Parmesan drizzled popcorn. It was amazing! Who knew that something so spectacular could be done with an innocent (very generous) bowl of popcorn?? The only beer drinker in our group went for the Foeder Aged Schwarzbier and thoroughly enjoyed it, claiming it to be reminiscent of many of the beers he enjoyed while in Germany. We had such a great time here! Would definitely return. With the guidance of our super cool server, we sampled several beers, and we didn't find a disappointing choice among them. Too bad they allow dogs into their restaurant. We were not aware of this when we had lunch there this afternoon. We are from out of town. Passing through. We had a table outside. My husband started having an allergy attack when we were almost done with our lunch. He realized why..... the people seated next to us had a dog!!!!! He is Highly allergic to dogs!! He suffered with this allergy for the 2 hour drive home Dogs should NOT, I REPEAT, Be allowed in a restaurant. Unless they are a service dog!!!! My husband suffered all the way home and had to drive home that way. We weren't able to enjoy our trip home. Very frustrating. Please, to all restaurants that allow dogs.... reconsider this!!! We love dogs too. But can't have any because of his allergy. But dogs belong at home!!! read more

Yum yum yum. These are the three words I'd use to describe this restaurant. Smoked white fish, woah! Danggg good. But I got to say the pretzel with da beer cheese take the prize for apps. Too many good choices for food but the bbq pork had that tang on it. So good. Beer choice- saison Lucida. You will take a six pack of this home with you so be ready for that. Great brewery to stumble upon as it was just a couple doors down from my hotel. They had about a dozen or so Belgian style beers on tap. A couple of them had notes about being awarded at various national competitions. Belgian brews can be a bit funky due to the yeast that is used but that's a feature not a bug. They're not for everyone but I really enjoyed the Harvest Brett Pale Ale and the Rainmaker Ale I had was above average. Bartenders were very attentive and willing to provide samples before committing to anything. I didn't try any food while I was there. So beer review only. read more

We visited Stormcloud regularly while staying in Frankfort for an extended weekend of hiking, both for the beer and food. And we were lucky enough to overlap with their Beer Week, which meant Oktoberfest brews and food specials. Needless to say we were in heaven, and though we took all our orders to go, it looked like they were being diligent about managing COVID precautions. Appeared the second as she repeated order and still got it wrong . Never brought out dishes or silverware, had to go to bar and get myself. Got popcorn, which we thought was happy hour in place of chips with bar cheese that we ordered . Wife order a second beer, I did not, but was still served a second beer. I got the brisket sandwich with chips, but if your health minded, the salads my socialist companions ordered looked really good. The flat breads were also very tasty. Yikes This was the worst pizza crust I've ever had. Wish we would have ordered pizza locally or even frozen pizzas. The server was friendly and there is a huge outdoor seating area. Really big beer menu but we were not drinking tonight. I think everything is frozen and they just reheat it. Our server told us the pizza crust is warmed up in the kitchen. The soup was poor but it is what happens when restaurants get away from actually cooking instead re-heat masters. read more

We sat outdoors on the patio on Labor Day. It was about a 40 minute to an hour wait. We enjoyed ourselves. Our server was great and very attentive. The popcorn wasn't that good. However, the white fish spread was delicious. The storm sticks were good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My husband really like the Fowler chicken sandwich and I enjoyed the storm rider pizza. We would definitely go back when in town. We felt very safe. The staff all wore masks and we were seated at least 6 feet away from others. read more

Stopped in after a day on the dunes. After 8pm we were told the menu is limited to Pizza, Popcorn, Pretzels ... the 3Ps wonder if the owner thought that was cute ... heehee. Pizza was good and the pretzel sticks and sauce were good as well. understand a limited menu to reduce staff or deal with lack of staff. Beer choices were good as well, mosaic and 228 triple. The one place I was disappointed is that the single dessert item they have on the menu is not served after 8pm. Seems a shame. It does come in a cast iron skillet were the 3Ps are all disposable. Not sure it would be that much work to run the skillets through the dishwasher. Waitress did suggest one of the many ice cream shops. Not the same, but a nice suggestion. read more

Loved this place! They have a great selection of drinks, the service was great, and the food looked awesome. We actually ate dinner somewhere else then came here for drinks. I was kind of annoyed as all the food looked great. We did get an appetizer, the white fish--super delicious, but mainly just ordered drinks. Our waitress was super knowledgeable and attentive. They have good seating and a great atmosphere. Overall it was a great time. Wish we would have had dinner at this place over the Italian place down the street with the child labor. read more

I had a comfort food fest with my kids, Mac n cheese, pizza and grilled cheese... all were great. My kids loved the pizza best. I got a flight, and got to choose 4 beers. The food and beer were good. Dinner for five with three drinks was $84. I had the grilled cheese and opted for the goat cheese, bacon and tomato add ons. It was pretty tasty. When the bill came - I noticed they doubled the price of the grilled cheese add-ons vs. what was advertised on the table menu. They corrected it. Like most places, they have a menu on the wall behind glass so potential patrons can see what's what before rolling the dice. It looked good, so we took our chances. Beware: in some cases, the prices on the "street view" menu are significantly lower than what's listed on the "table" menu (over 20%). Case in point: as of 8/6/2021, the grilled cheese is $9 on the "street view" menu - but it's actually listed for $11 on the menu they bring to the table. This was probably just a simple oversight by management; not intentional false advertising. Sometimes you just need to review your bill closely to be sure you're not getting gouged. After our orders were placed, the waitstaff quickly removed the menus from the table - which makes it more challenging to check things later (perhaps that's the point). There may be other pricing inconsistencies not in the customers' favor - pay attention. Overall good service and food - but the menu pricing and billing were..."off". read more

So far, we have eaten here, had take away from here (got a keg to go), and eaten in the igloo. Every time we have gotten great, friendly service. On top of all that, great beer choices and menu. Last time we were there, it felt like we ordered a little bit of everything, between the flights of beer, appetizers, pizza (because we wanted to share), and dessert. Went to see what the town of Frankfort had to offer - found this restaurant from Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. Dog friendly restaurant as well! Had a chicken sandwich and the grilled cheese with a cup of tomato soup to dip it in. Both meals were great and very filling. We also got the pretzel with cheese as an appetizer that was also great dipped in the tomato soup! Will be back on our next trip! read more
