I was negligent by not winterizing the sprinklers before the first Omaha frost and therefore was scrambling to find someone to come out ASAP. I called several companies who were too busy to take the job. Out of sheer desperation, I called someone who stuck an advertisement sign in the grass of an intersection. This guy was too busy to take the job, so he referred me to Storm Irrigation who, surprise surprise, had a completely open schedule. He was asked to winterize the sprinklers for a quoted price of about $70. Okay so where did things go wrong?
He came out while we were at work so we didn't have a face-to-face meeting. However, I called to inquire about the condition of the pipes and at that time was told I was charged an additional $49 for a backflow replacement kit. Now I don't doubt that the part was needed, but I have a problem with the repair being made without my prior consent. Furthermore, he left the old and busted part in the grass! Completely unacceptable and the last time I will do business with this company. Yes he was the only one available and now I see why. read more
