We need a new system installed so called Millard. The sales rep did a professional job explaining and showing things to us. We were only in the process of talking with 3 companies. He really put on the pressure to make a sale right there at that moment. He became easily disgusted once he realize he wasn't going to sell us on the spot. We went with another company. One a different note, they sure know how to trash up the town with their signs on people's fences years at a time. read more

I had an appointment set for 11am. I got a text at 10:50 saying the person was on their way. Their office is nearby so I figured he'd be on time. 11:10, nobody here. 11:15 nobody here. 11:20 nobody here. So I left because I have stuff to do on my only day off. I missed his call at 11:30! No call/text saying he was running late. My time is valuable. Nobody is paying me to wait. So I texted him back to see if maybe I had the wrong time written down. Nope. He confirmed it was at 11am. He asked if I got his quote in my email. I did, but I'm asking myself then why did I need to be there in the first place if he did a quote without me being there?? And did he go in the backyard to survey the area? If he did I'll be very pissed because my dogs go in and out of the doggie door as they please. So how did he measure my backyard? How did he measure where the heads would go? I looked at the quote. Very bland. No detail. And very expensive compared to what I was expecting. But I've never had a sprinkler system and never had one installed. I had questions, but because he chose to be late and not give me a heads up, I couldn't ask those questions. Quality Irrigation came out the next day. On time! In fact, 15 minutes early!! We walked the ENTIRE yard...both front and back. He asked about my current landscaping so he could be sure the heads were properly located. We talked about the different boxes and features. HE wanted to look at my plumbing and run tests to make sure my PSI was at the proper level!! How many of these things did Millard do? None because he was late and didn't have access. How can a guy give a proper estimate without walking the property, asking questions, and making sure the plumbing is adequate? SMH!! And the icing on the cake? Quality Irrigation's quote came in about $2,000 cheaper just on the sprinkler system, with the better control box. I don't even know what Millard Sprinkler was offering because he chose to be late and not give me a heads up. If somebody wants to minimize him being 30 minutes late for an appointment then I'd ask them if they're ok with their employees showing up 30 minutes late for work every day? He called me when he arrived. Why couldn't he call me to say he was running late? Needless to say, I'm calling Quality Irrigation Monday to move forward. I have had Millard Sprinklers do work onmy residence as well as my office building. Recently Jorge Hernandez, came out to my office to winterize the system. It only took him a few minutes, he was in and out in no time. Jorge has be doing my office building for the past few years, he is pleasant, friendly and gets down to business. Great company and great employees. I highly recommend them fpr your irrigation needs. Antonio Gallegos came out today to set our system and go over operations. He is for sure the best technician we have ever had. My wife and I have had 15 homes in our 62 years together and we have never had such great service. Antonio has excellent interpersonal skills and he is very knowledgeable when it comes to your sprinkler systems. He took his time going over each run and had me walk with him over the entire yard explaining what he was doing when making adjustments and why. I was a Millard Sprinkler customer and I have an active leak in my sprinkler system but they are unable to repair my leak because they are over booked for winterizing services. I have water leaking from my breaker valve and they have refused to help. They have lost me as a customer. read more

Never use them. A few years back I needed a new electric control system added to my sprinkler system. Millard came out and also offered to replace 2 broken sprinkler heads. Their service person replaced 14 heads and tried to bill me for them. We settled on half which was entirely their fault, but the owner is absolutely a POS to deal with. Now the outside pipe has ruptured three years in a row, they do the blow-out service, but they can't seem to do that right either. I get a call from them saying they feel it best to part ways since yet again the pipe outside is leaking again. Happy to do business elsewhere because this company is not worth the hassle. read more

The recommendation to replace 42 sprinkler heads is an example of a company running up billing without being able to explain why. I do not see any malfunctioning heads in my yard or brown spots. Had this been a valid recommendation, your workers would have been able to show examples. I talked to Bob Brakenhoff at Mulhall's and a couple of other fellows who say replacing one or two heads in a season is feasible, but not over 40. This is also an example of management thinking they can 'sell anything to a woman because 'she doesn't know much.' I expected more from Millard Sprinkler. read more

We recently purchased a house that was new construction. Millard Sprinkler installed the lawn sprinkler system. A number of the heads were spraying the house, so I adjusted those. Having installed sprinklers in the past, I know they need to be adjusted from time to time. Normally, you don't see them "off" by as much as these were. Nonetheless, relatively easy to adjust. However, I had a main line to a zone that was cut when the cable was installed. The main line is only a few inches below grade. I called Millard Sprinkler and was given the excuse that they aren't responsible because when they were called out to do the "final tune up", it had been too long since the initial install & with the final grade done prior, they couldn't be responsible. Didn't make a lot of sense to me, as I wouldn't expect to see any sprinkler pipe before OR after a final grade. Since they are supposed to be buried. If that much dirt is really moved during final grades, then you would think a good sprinkler company wouldn't want to install something that could end up "wrong". They did of course, offer to fix it for a charge. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for this service. read more

I'll echo some of the other reviews, and say that if you desire quality service, fair pricing, quick response, and integrity, do NOT go with Millard Sprinkler. I have two stories for you that should back up this claim: 1. In May, we had a session planned to prep our sprinkler system for the summer. It snowed eight inches on the day they were supposed to come out, so obviously, we called to reschedule. They claimed they would still come out on that day, even though it was snowing. Since they would not have even been able to see the sprinkler heads, I went ahead and requested a reschedule. They rescheduled for FOUR WEEKS later. So ridiculous. They don't build in gaps to account for weather. If you are wanting quick service from a sprinkler company, this is not the one. The cherry on top - the person on the phone was rude and lacked any empathy at all. She communicated to me that I was being unrealistic and stupid for expecting another appointment sooner than four weeks. 2. One of the sprinkler heads had popped up out of the ground when it was not supposed to - an obvious malfunction, right? Apparently not. I hit it with my lawnmower which is how I discovered the problem. I called and got service scheduled (three weeks from now) and she told me I'd be billed (a crazy amount I might add). I asked if anything would be covered under warranty. She told me that the damage was not covered. I asked her what is covered under warranty. She said malfunction. Ummm...what!? That is a classic malfunction - the head was out of the ground when it should not have been! So, now I'm being charged hundreds of dollars for service in three weeks. Guess I'll just not use my sprinklers till then... I guess they are a BBB Integrity Award Recipient. I have yet to see any integrity from this company. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I've been a customer over seven years got my new system from this company. I've always used them for winterization and turn on. Now, this week they come out turn on my sprinkler system three days later my basement room is flooded because there was a drip afterwards from the pipe. Because I now must replace the wood shelf and had to spray for mold and dry out of my basement room I asked for credit of my $196 they tell me the pipe is corroded so we are not liable ummm, we'll my did it just get corroded in the three days I've been using you guys over eight years nobody EVER said any pipe was corroded (until water leaked & there is damage, how convenient). DO NOT USE. Customer service sucks and it's all good as long as the service is good but when they make a mistake there is NO accountability read more

Had a blocked zone and called this company as they were the ones who installed the system. It took two techs nearly seven total hours to figure out the problem. $370 later, I have a functional zone and a messed-up yard. Called the company and was told it's my problem to correct the yard if I want it back to how it was before the work. Will not use this company ever again. read more

I would not recommend Millard Sprinkler to anyone. My builder chose to use Millard Sprinkler to install the irrigation system at my new home. They installed the unit in 2018/2019 and we moved into our new home on 3/1/19. At the time, they installed a line on the wrong side of the property line and proceeded to blame the builder on the other side of us sight unseen. After I asked them to come out and see, they admitted to messing up. So they moved the line. I used them again in the fall to winterize my system. When I tried to start the system over the weekend, the back flow valve began leaking furiously. I called them today to see if this work is warrantied and they said they would come look at it. May 6th and $90 service charge for a back flow valve that did not make it 1 season. Plus parts and labor to fix the problem. No thx read more

Everything from start to finish was great! Jack was a great salesman and answered any questions that I had. Scheduling with Rachael went really well. They have a great system in place to squeeze in existing properties when new sites may be muddy. They told me they would be at my house at 8:00 am and they were there promptly and not 1 minute later every worker was working on getting the system installed. This was one of the most efficient installs I have ever seen by any trade. Tommy did a great job with his crew throughout the whole process. During the final walkthru he noticed things that were not up to his standard and he quickly had them addressed. He even set up the app on my phone and explained how it works so that I wasn't left in the dark on how to use it. I was very impressed with them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new system install. read more

Technician entered my house without a mask and did not offer to get one, despite the fact that I wore one throughout his work time. When I called to express my concern - both for the health of Millard Sprinkler workers and for my own - the manager told me they no longer require masks unless the customers requests it. But when you call to make an appointment, they do ask your preferences. As of today, the County Health department continues to recommend masks. Millard Sprinkler doesn't seem to care about their own staff, their customers, or helping our community move beyond COVID. read more

They did a good job installing the sprinklers, but did not fill in the holes they made in the yard. They charged us $75 to winterize our system; they told us they would do it for free. Some of the sprinklers do not water the yard correctly. read more

I called Millard Sprinkler due in part to a recommendation from a local landscape company. Millard Sprinkler was on the high end of the estimates I received to install a sprinkler system in my yard, but they were highly recommended, so I went with them. And now I regret it. CALL SOMEONE ELSE!!! I wonder how much experience the guy that "designed" my system has in designing systems. When I first talked to him, I told him the part of my yard that is full sun is my biggest concern. So, he designed the system that every zone that waters the area in the full sun, also has heads in an area with full shade. So, I can't schedule extra cycles for the area in full sun without drenching the area in full shade. I called MS about this to have someone come out and look at the setup, and after a couple days called back because I hadn't heard anything, then 2 days later I called again because I still hadn't heard anything, and then was told that they would have to call me back the next Monday when they have a schedule of the service calls they have to make, and they will see when they can fit me in. (???) I called and told them I need to have them stop out, so wouldn't that be one of the service calls they need to have on their schedule? Their customer service is really lacking. My husband and I booked them last spring to come out and service our sprinklers and the tech came out and everything seemed great, the second tech came out to do the work and half of it was done wrong from what we discussed with original tech. I called Millard right away as one line was damaged that they put in and leaking water around our air conditioner and two other sprinkler heads put in were full spins and just 3 feet from our house. They said they would send another tech out to repair it. 3rd tech comes out to fix the stuff and then tries to bill me for the repairs they had to make that they caused while doing the initial installs. I told them I would not pay for it but he said I have to sign the thing before he could leave. I received a bill in the mail for repairs and called service manager again saying I would not pay. He said they would make it right with me come spring. We played phone tag to get a date set up and then I finally got them on the calendar with the service manager. 1.5 hours past the appointment time I called to see if he was coming as I had put my hold on day. I was told they had 3 techs call in(that sounds like a serious issue in my book) so he had to pick up a route. No one took the time to call me and I got a less than heart felt apology and a my hands are tied excuse from the rep. It's not her fault, but working in customer service, it's still not ok to just brush off the mistake especially when this is the 4th go around with this company. I will be taking my business elsewhere. What a waste of $600+ we spent the first go around only to spend double to correct the problems they created. If I could give negative stars, I would, We have spent thousands of dollars trying to make Millard Sprinkler's botched job usable. Whoever came out to place flags was extremely rude and refused to answer questions. He ignored the new trees we had just had spaded in at a great cost. The cost of the sprinkler system was included in the price of the house we had just built, so we decided to just go along. The rep said we shouldn't expect a custom job just because we had a custom house. 2 guys showed up at our house after 5PM in the pouring rain to install our system. One spoke no English, the other had a very limited vocabulary and was extremely difficult to understand. After a few days, irrigation pipe was visible in the back yard and our cream colored house was coated in red from the iron in the water that was hitting all 4 sides of the house (we are on well water). We called Millard many times. They sent employees who admitted they were brand new to the job. House and now windows are red. Contractor apologized and called Millard. No help. 3 trees dead from being hit by sprinklers. Called somebody else and spent a fortune getting it right. Would never ever recommend them, even to an enemy. read more

I'm not one to review much or complain at all, but in this case I downloaded yelp just for this. They have a nice sales rep / estimator, but I would call him the lipstick on the pig. Very unprofessional and amateur at best. I flagged my invisible dog fence every 2 ft and they still cut the line twice. They did a very half ass job of trying to fix one of the spots and on the second they said they couldn't find the wire. .... Well it would've helped if they weren't digging 2 FEET AWAY!!! Went to seed my lawn and my lawn tractor tire sunk in a muddy spot... Two days later the leaking fitting got fixed. Finally they are suppose to leave a description card in the control box detailing the locations of the zones... Yep you guessed it; blank card. I know it's hard to get sprinkler guys to call you back but look elsewhere!!! Trust me. I'm a contractor and love to brag about the people I hire... I just can't do it this time.**UPDATE** Bill in their office has contacted me a few times and is very concerned about making things right.... they have doubled my warranty and highlighted my account so any service call I need I get pushed to the top of the list.
