This was our second time using Sergey, and we'll continue using him for our appliance needs…read more This time was a challenge, as our 11-year-old fridge no longer produced ice. He replaced the ice maker, but that didn't resolve the issue, so signs pointed to the control panel next. He gave us feedback about pros and cons of proceeding, since the parts are costly, and some diagnostics aren't definitive. We opted to have the control panel replaced; unfortunately, that didn't resolve it either. Sergey persisted with troubleshooting for us and ultimately changed the ice maker again, which resolved the issue (i.e., his supplier provided a faulty ice maker the first time and honored a replacement).

When I spoke to Sunny by phone the first time, he sounded very honest and sincere. He said he was a bit of a distance away from Imperial Beach but that he would make his way down later that day. He made it down and was able to diagnose the stove and provide his recommendation. He wasn't pushy and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. His rates are very reasonable and the quality of work is top notch. His communication is excellent. Sunny is the first one I call when it comes to appliance repairs. Since then, we've used his services to repair washers, dryers, stoves and refrigerators at several apartment buildings that we manage throughout San Diego County, and we will continue to do so.

He found that our coils under our fridge had never been cleaned (true, says my husband) and gave us a discount on doing so while he was out anyway. Incredibly customer service oriented from the start, without even confirming his service. This was for a liquid propane conversion on a new range. During/after installation, he was incredibly respectful, responsive and provided me a general overview on what was happening as he was doing it. In the general sense, I do not leave many reviews unless the service/experience is that exceptional (or terrible). Would absolutely recommend Vitaly and Good Guy Appliances, as he was easily able to schedule a time (so that my range would not sit in the middle of my kitchen longer than necessary). A very great price, for really great work. After this experience, any other appliance work needed, I will go out of my way to have this company be the service provider. Thank you Vitaly!

That's when I called Alfa Appliances. Adam Islamov came to my house. He hit a few buttons on my fridge to see if my temp controls were correct and that was it! Adam told me he could replace the ice maker and it would cost $526. I paid for his "inspection" and he left. He never even set his work bag down! Since my refrigerator is still working fine, I chose to buy a bag of ice and call it a day. Last week my SON came over. He pulled the fridge out. I cleaned the filter at the back and unplugged the fridge. That worked! My ice maker is now working. Shouldn't Adam have done that? I don't think Adam had any intention of "getting his hands dirty", and thought NOT attempting to fix my ice maker and quoting me a ridiculous price for a new one was the better option. I would not recommend Alfa "repair" service.

Artur, the technician, was very thorough and explained clearly why the machine wasn't working. His English isn't perfect, but he made sure I could understand everything. The replacement part had to come from China, which took about two weeks, but during that time he kept me updated regularly. Once the part arrived, he tested the machine multiple times to make sure it was working properly before giving me the final estimate. Considering the amount of time and effort he spent, the price was very reasonable. Artur isn't just skilled with donut machines, he also works on refrigerators, dishwashers, ice machines, laptops, and more.
