I had a poor experience with this washing machine diagnostic service. During the diagnostic visit, Vusal behaved unprofessionally. He arrived in a personal car rather than a service vehicle, complained about the distance he had traveled, and did not remove his shoes when entering my home. Communication was also difficult due to a language barrier, which made it harder to understand the diagnosis and recommendations. The diagnosis itself was incorrect. He stated that the switch actuator was not working. I replaced it, but the machine continued to malfunction. He also failed to notice a heavy blanket inside the washer, which caused the drum to bang against the sides. This imbalance was the most likely cause of the damage and likely required replacement of the suspension springs. As a result, I lost time, paid a diagnostic fee, and ultimately still had to replace the washing machine. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this service. I had a really bad experience with Smartfix. My dryer had a minor issue, my husband removed 3 screws and couldn't get it back. When the technician showed up he said he needed to evaluate the dryer, after 10 mins he dismantled the entire dryer and said it would be $350. I told him it just needed the three screws back. So please just put it back the way it was. He shoved everything back. Not in the right places and disconnected all the wires and electrical. Half the screws were missing. I still had to pay the $66 fee. I called him to come back the next day because I no longer had a dryer, and the technician hung up on me. I had a different company come out the next day and said it was now damaged and they wouldn't touch it. They said there is no reason why it was disconnected and dismantled. I ended up having to buy a new dryer... I would not recommend smartfix. read more

My only regret is that I didn't read the reviews before hiring them. Long story short, they quoted me $55 for a service call, which they said would be applied toward the repair if I chose them. On the day of the visit, they told me they found a different problem with my oven than what I originally requested and gave me a quote of $420 for parts and labor. I asked why the labor was $220, and the technician said it was because there were two of them and they were charging for both. I never requested two technicians. When I asked if they could apply the $55 service fee to this quote, the owner said no, that it was a diagnostic fee and separate from the repair. When I showed him our Yelp chat where he himself said the fee would be applied, he claimed it was already adjusted and that the $220 labor cost was after the adjustment. At that point, I decided not to proceed with the repair and asked for a bill for the $55 service call. Then the story changed again, he said it would be $60 because of a $5 tax, which is very unusual since California does not charge sales tax on service or diagnostic calls. He was adamant about charging $60. I even pointed out that if tax applied, the rate for San Diego County is 7.75%. In the end, I paid $59.09 and was done with it. I never received an invoice explaining the $4.09 tax charge. I will be reporting this and hope they have documentation to justify the tax. My recommendation: stay away from them.
