They should take responsibility for their inability to maintain their facility properly. We had been renting an inside, climate-controlled 5x10 space for over 10 months. On 30 January 2025, we went to move our items out of that space and into a 10x10 space. Once we moved the first boxes at the entrance of our locker, we noticed that there were puddles of water on the floor and that it had soaked into our boxes and damaged our items. Numerous items were covered in mold and were ruined. Upon further inspection, it was obvious that water had leaked from the outside door of the facility and leaked across the facility floor into our storage locker. I immediately went to the office and got Patrick, who worked for Public Storage. He took videos and pictures as well, acknowledging that the water had enter from the outside and leaked into our unit. I showed him our damaged items and also provided him additional pictures via text message. He said we would notify Sherrie, the DM and that she would be in touch. This was on 30JAN2025. On 10 FEB, I contacted the Public Storage "WE CARE" line since the Sherrie, the DM had still not reached out to me. On 11 FEB, Sherrie did contact me and said that there is nothing they could do since I did not purchase insurance from Public Storage. My damage was caused because the Public Storage facility did not properly provide environmental protection from the outside elements (rain). Employees should have noticed the water running in from the outside, through the door, and into my unit. If they had done proper checks and maintenance, they could have notified me earlier of possible water leaking into my unit, and we could have prevented this damage. This was not caused by one event. This was caused by numerous events over a period of time.

We've used Public Storage several times over the last fifteen years, and they just keep getting…read morebetter. Everything is now handled on line, from reserving the unit, to getting the security codes, to setting up the monthly payments. On our most recent rental I took care of it all from my recliner in less than 10 minutes. The facility we're using is clean, well lit, and secure. The on-site moving carts are always in great shape. Public Storage makes it very easy and convenient.

They have made it into a fantastic climate controlled storage facility. There are multiple entrances that are controlled by electronic codes so you can easily access your unit from the shortest possible distance. The manager, Scott, made the entire process very easy from the initial contract to the orientation and to the cancellation process. Due to a…read moremiscommunication (or frankly lack of communication), I had no idea what time the truck was arriving on move in day. I had to dash away for an emergency, but was coming right back. I had instructed the movers about where most large items would go. While I was gone (30 minutes truly) the driver begins harassing me via text, call, etc that he needs to leave ... he is SO rude that I don't feel comfortable speaking with him so I call the main number and no one answers (beyond unprofessional... it was a Monday!). They left without me personally signing off on the move, every single piece of furniture other than the beds is one the wrong room, and the most epic part is the company refuses to respond to any emails and when I finally got the owner on the phone she couldn't have been ruder and actually cursed at me. This company is a joke and they lost two items as well. I plan to make it my mission in 2025 to greatly impact their business and have already gotten the attention of the local realtor association with several phone calls and emails exchanged ... more to follow! My gf arrived to help me load the few items, I was transporting onto my trailer. She mentioned jokingly something about the facility closing at 10 pm and hoped they'd let us out the gate. Ladies and gents, we were locked in the facility for over an hour. The woman who owns it/lives above the office, refused to help is as this stores policy is not to interact with customers after business hours. We had to call 911 who sent a Jasper deputy or PD to let us out. The kicker is that the manager who lives upstairs was on the phone with the officer to let us out and gave him the code to do it instead of coming down stairs and doing it her lazy self!! The officer informed is that this was the first time he had come out but had heard it has happened before more than once. The legal out they give themselves is that the pedestrian gate was open... meaning we were free to escape if we left our things and vehicles there. Worst of all the manager wrote my gf (the property owner) a scathing email the next day threatening her with trespassing and distributing the peace. She also threatened to evict her if there was another "incident" mind you I was talking loudly about how horrible a business it to hold their patrons hostage against their will, all the while she was peering out the window above us... very "it puts the lotion on its skin..." If we had the money, time or energy to change storage locations...we % would! But again... we feel trapped

ALL of my belongings were stolen from the unit and the owner was horrible about the whole ordeal. I went to pick up a few things and the exterior lock had been changed. I called the owner to report the issue and cut the lock. He assured me I did not have the correct key or unit number and refused to come to the building until the next morning. The next morning he angrily cut the lock to find only some packing paper left. He immediately started stammering and asking if I had anyone who was mad with me and knew my furniture was here. I was obviously upset and called the local police department. The owner offered no apology, said this has never happened before and he needed something from the office. He then drove off and left me there to talk with the police. The officer that came out took notes for a report, but said that nothing would probably come of it and that they have had this happen several times there! He said the "video surveillance" they advertise is only a camera at the entrance/exit and not on any individual units, so there would be no way to actually track anything down with no other information. The owner never returned any phone calls from the officer, of course. In addition, the passcode on the keypad is never changed. So anyone who has ever had a unit there can easily punch in the code and have access to any unit if they cut the lock. This place appeared clean and definitely wasn't the cheapest around. Store your belongings here at your own risk.
