It's nice to have a large market in the Rancho area that is bigger than the little cramped stores,…read moreyet smaller than the enormous one that's popular and impossible to dash into for just a few items. Rancho has been needing someplace like that for a long time. This iteration of the SF Market chain is in a spiffy new shopping center. It's a nice change to have an attractive new market to go to. The parking lot outside is nice, and is well lit in the evenings. I've noticed that the employees at this store seem friendlier and more inclined to be helpful to customers.

I I occasionally venture out to Rancho Cordova to shop at this SF supermarket. SF supermarket is an…read moreAsian based grocery store. It still has the brand new look and feel for having opened in November 2024. There are things that I absolutely appreciate about this supermarket. The good things: +Clean, modern interior. +The selection of groceries includes some Korean and Indian staples. +They also have a ton load of a variety of rice and produce. +They have an aisle full of plates, bowls, and cooking implements with competitive prices. +The cashiers now assist folks to bag the groceries; this helps the lines move quicker and eliminates that awkward stand and stare action. +The fishmonger does free cleaning and fish frying. Yay... less work for me. +The supermarket is within a shopping plaza with food options (boba tea shop, fast food, sit down restaurants), jewelry shop, Korean beauty product shop, hair salon, and more. Other things ... - Some fish on ice have cloudy discolored eyes. Since the fish is behind the glass, you can ask the staff to show you the other fish in the pile. You are looking for clear eyes. So for folks that like to actually feel or pickup the fish (like myself), you have to verbally communicate with the fishmonger to select the one you want. The staff all speak English. [The person who helped me voluntarily showed me the other fish, he was a man of few words and expressionless. He was helpful, polite, and courteous. Not mean but having a stoically cool demeanor. Please don't take his lack of Susie Sunshineness as a personal attack]. - Majority of the produce are sold pre bagged/shrink wrapped packaged by the grocer. No breaking up the bags into a smaller quantity. Plus I tend to have to cook the produce within a few days before they turn south on me. -There is no hot food or hot meat/poultry counter which is usually customary in Asian supermarkets.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience at Four Season Market in Sacramento, CA was upsetting…read moreand honestly concerning as a parent. I purchased clearance food items that I later realized -- without even opening them -- were clearly not fresh and not safe to eat. This is especially serious to me because I have children, and I rely on stores to sell food that is safe for families. What makes this worse is that I was told in the store that these products were "safe" and that employees buy them themselves. When I returned to request a refund, one associate initially said it would be accepted. However, the same employee who originally reassured me suddenly refused, became visibly upset, and told me "it's the law" that they cannot take the items back. That statement is misleading -- stores cannot avoid responsibility for selling food that is not safe for consumption. On top of that, during the same visit I was overcharged for other items compared to the posted prices, which added to my frustration and concern about how this business operates. This was not just poor customer service -- it raises serious concerns about food safety and consumer rights. I strongly recommend that others carefully inspect any items before purchasing here and double-check prices at checkout.

The store is clean, well stocked and as always in Food Maxx stores, you can find fresh Mexican rolls (3 for $1.00!!) as well as reasonable prices and specials always. On my last visit to Food Maxx, I inadvertently lost my iPhone in my shopping cart. When checking in person at the store shortly after, the cashier immediately showed concern and called the floor managers who checked the safe for returned items (no luck) and assured me they would check their cameras and contact me. Sure enough, Sean sent me a voice message to let me know they check the footage but were not able to see any evidence of my iPhone stolen or in one of the carts. He assured me they would keep checking and keep me informed. Such caring service, which is why I give this Food Maxx 5 starts!! ....my iPhone was found and returned that afternoon, thanks to "Find My Phone"

Love the layout of this Trader Joe's!…read more As usual there were a lot of shoppers in Trader Joe's. But it did not feel crowded even though I visited on a popular shopping day and time. If I were at my Folsom, Trader Joe's, I would be shoulder to shoulder with shoppers :-). The store was well stocked. Except for cottage cheese. I have found Folsom Trader Joe's to routinely be out of cottage cheese also. It is the best tasting cottage cheese I have ever had. I guess a lot of people feel the same. Additionally, this area, like Folsom and surrounding nearby areas, is experiencing a large population explosion. And I am sure it is a challenge to keep shelves filled. When I checked out, I asked about the seemingly different layout of this particular TJ and the chronic cottage cheese shortage. The checker said that cottage cheese disappears so fast they're only allowed to put out one pallet a day. And he confirmed that the layout is different than most Trader Joe's because they have a very creative, awesome manager who is really good at those type of things! Like my TJs in Folsom... customer service is wonderful here. And parking sucks:).
