I love Grocery Outlet every time I get groceries it is low cost good products strawberry are amazing

I started going to this Grocery Outlet after the Watt Ave location in Arden Arcade shutdown. This location used to be a great place to shop, but now it's so unorganized the employees are less than helpful. The producing is always fresh and looks great, but it goes downhill from there. Most the items are the same price as any other grocery store probably sometimes very more for what you get. The location also isn't in the best area, there is always unsavory people harassing customers. read more

My father just left this location after picking up a few items we needed to make home made trail mix. He was waiting in line to check out patiently and a new check stand opened. The new clerk grabbed people from the back of the line already formed to come to the new register. My dad commented that it was weird she didn't pull from the front of the line and she commented back to him that he was rude. After he checked out on his way out the door she told him to "Go to Hell" I will not only never be back, I'm going to let everyone I know not to go to this store if that's their brand of customer service. Typical grocery outlet in terms of selection and items, the one thing I thought was ridiculous though was NO BATHROOM! I asked to use the restroom while I was shopping and they said they didn't have one so I just put my items back and walked out. Very Inconvenient. read more

I was really happy when this store moved here in 2021 and I welcomed an affordable alternative into the neighborhood. Unfortunately, I can no longer in good conscience support this store. For one, there is no sign posted regarding dogs yet they ruthlessly go after dog owners even owners of service dogs. Also, the previous manager was a drunk who I witnessed harassing female customers on multiple occasions. The current closing manager is unprofessional, he physically goes after suspected thieves and closes the store 5 minutes before closing time. The final straw was routinely having to wait ridiculous lengths of times for price checks for items that don't ring up and the male manager being extremely rude about it. There is also another male employee who works evenings who is bald and has a beard and glasses and seems very unhinged, I witnessed him harassing the homeless in the parking lot on several locations. The entire staff seems miserable. After almost 5 years of shopping here, I am done. read more

Horrible horrible horrible customer service during closing hours!! It was approximately 8:48 PM n December 1st of this year. I was welcomed with ,'The store closes in 8 minutes!' I responded 'Its 8:48, and I think I have 12 minutes. I only needed a couple of things. I saw this person who happened to be manager at the time was in a hurry, rushing, tempermental, and quite rude! He argued and began to yell at me, as I told him that he didn't have to be rude. He like a child began to say that I was being rude in an argued tone. (I must have reminded him of an ex who was about to take him to the cleaners). I've been shopping there for over 3 years now after the death of my sister. I can see that many are in a hurry, still, customer service is just that! There were others who were trying to beat the clock as well, and I was just going to pick up a couple of things. He began to be argumentative, a lot of anger displayed, and was simply being a rude jerk acting as though he didn't care. He must not have recieved his bonus or something, or simply has raging testosterones. He wasn't kind at all nor behaved that some are going to the store no matter what the time is, even if its 1 minute before closing. Being a manger which is something that I'm very familiar with requires patience and caring for the customer no matter what time it is. Unbelieveable that some carry a label of management and are placed in positions that they should never be in. And whats worse is that others feel they must cover for a manager's ignorance, for that matter, someone who is in charge. There are many Grocery Outlets, and I'm sure he won't be missing anyone who goes there. This manager either needs a nice break, or needs to get another job. Being a manager, isnt always easy. And neither is being a truck driver who delivers goods to distribution centers. Try and be kind, especially duiring the holidays!! You never know what one is going through! Happy Holidays! Today is 12-27-25, and just shopped at this store, the time was 11:10am, while I was near the produce and meat section, an employee young lady was trying to catch a very frightened, white tiny little dog, almost looked like a chiweenie, no more than 4 lbs with a beautiful pink marking on it, and I bent over to also assist her in gently getting the frightened little dog who had wandered into the store, she said something to a man working there in the meat section wearing a brown apron, he had a long gray beard and was very thin, he suddenly came over and I thought he would assist her, Nope, instead he viciously screamed and stammered his feet very hard in scaring the little dog out of the store, the employee lady was startled and I screamed, as in disbelief in what just happened. Just in shock that this really was happening. I felt helpless, they both left the area, and maybe continued to force the little dog out of the store. There was no compassion, and he should of allowed the lady employee to continue on what she was doing in trying to get the little dog, versus instead of terrifying the little dog by being vicious, in treating the little dog like he was rodent rat who had wandered into the store. It was so awful, that I collected myself, and halted in further going down the last four aisles and instead I just checked out my groceries and left. I will never go back into this store again, because if this is how this man acts in front of customers and treats vulnerable pets, one can only imagine what else goes on there read more

Great store! We live nearby and often stop by when we need to pick up something. The prices are always great, the selection is good, and the store is clean. You can find a lot of useful items here, and it's always a pleasant shopping experience. I like this location. Unique finds. I do like the variety of cheeses they offer Ihave gotten some imported cheeses her at a great price. However its only until they are sold . They replenish what they can get. The snack aisle is lame unless you want the "ones that are supposedly healthier " Store is always quiet and neat. read more

Took my daughter to the store last night. The always-friendly night shift manager chatted with us at the check out, and asked what our plans were for the weekend. I told him we would be attending my other daughter's graduation from Sac State at Golden 1 Center. He right away congratulated us and proceeded to walk over to the flowers section. He asked us to pick out a bouquet, and insisted on paying for us. The bouquet is $10 from his pocket, but the thoughtfulness and genuine care for his customers is simply priceless. By the way, the store is always clean and nice. We also enjoy finding different treats there every time. It's like a treasure hunt. We never know what surprises we will find. read more

This store is a huge disappointment to the community and upon reading the other reviews I can understand why I came in here on a Saturday around 330 because I need to pick up a few things and see if they had any good deals , came across a two pack of sunscreen but the sunscreen was 3 separate sections of the store and they all had different prices so upon getting to the register I asked the cashier what it rang up and she said 1299 I explain to her that it was in the store multiple times and it had been in the back end cap for 9.99 and I took a picture of the price tag. the manager then came up and said he would check it out I said I had a picture he said not necessary I have to see he came up with all these random price tags for the all sorts of wrong product and said he wasn't going to honor that price ..:what's the real nail in the coffin the reason why it won't be back into the stores not only is he being petty about a two dollar price discrepancy . I asked for his name so I could include it in this review and also so I could call corporate and all he would say was his name was "manager" and while I asked for other employees what his name was they said they wouldn't get involved and all I need to know was that his name was manager .... so I'm hoping the owner sees this review , you I would definitely consider changing management team because it seems like they're definitely not running the business the way it should be ran and very disappointing considering the amount of times I've shopped in this establishment.. rant over on to the rest of my day read more

Watch your expiration dates. I purchased some Boost and it was two months over. If you have to return something, make sure you have a receipt or they will make you wait while they scan their CCTV to see if you purchased it. I felt like I was on Law and Order. Not going back. read more

Terrible customer service/compensation - I purchased about $62.00 in groceries a few days ago and bought some NY strips steaks. I have never bought any at this store, but have bought at other ones and they were good. However, the ones I bought here were so tough and chewy that they were inedible and had to be thrown out. I appealed to the owner here and she said "I don't suppose you kept the packaging?" And I told her "no I didn't" because my husband had made them when I was out. She then said "I'll pass it on" with no offer of any compensation. This is awful customer service. She should have at the very least offered a refund. I will not be shopping at this store again. Love this location!! If I go at night. The morning crew are a bunch of a**holes and I genuinely refuse to go in without the regular night crew working. Just went in during the A.M. right now and the cashier literally threw all my groceries into a bag, smashed my bread and left half the groceries out, expecting me to somehow carry all of that with my hands. When I asked for another bag she snapped at me "Yeah for 15 cents" as if that's even the cost of a bag in California. When I said "okay" she clearly was not going to ring me up for one, so I had to stand there and rebag all my groceries to fit them in the bag properly. When I mentioned she smashed my bread she glared at me and fully ignored my statement. Ridiculous!! She then continued to help the next person in line and very clearly disregarded any statement I asked of her. I wasn't being rude, I've worked customer service most of my working career. Trust me, I get it. And that's why I'm annoyed, because I get it. She needs to not be a cashier. I don't usually write reviews but considering I left with ruined groceries due her being rude, it felt worth adding to the algorithm. I don't care if she woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Horrible service! have wanted to like this store as it is near my home. Bananas are bruised always. Out of date food. Worst are the cashiers and manager. Last time someone let me ahead of them but the cashier was so busy talking to the last person checked out, she started scanning the person behind me. I was trying to get her attention but she kept talking. When I finally did, she snapped at me like o did something wrong. We asked if she could delete the previous item and check out my one item first. She RUDELY said no! That is obviously a lie. People behind me even said she was rude. I find grocery outlet to be a bit more expensive than Winco. Other than that, it's a good grocery store.

I have always had excellent customer service whenever I called this location or walk in. The checkers I have dealt with have always been courteous and polite. They have good selections of just about everything, and I'm especially impressed with their selections of breads, misc dairy and various vegetables. Additionally, this store is the cleanest Grocery Outlet I've ever been to. read more

This Grocery Outlet is near my home, I want to love it, but so far I'm disappointed, they have far fewer items in their weekly ad than the other Grocery Outlet's in the area, and at least half the time they never get the items that they do have in their weekly ad. Watch the pull date, I've run across a number of expired items and don't expect to be able to do one stop shopping, the other day I went there and there was no linguini or fettuccini which are not exactly esoteric foods. They tend to run out of a lot of merchandise and never restock it. They seem to cater to local apartment dwellers who in many cases don't have a car, so I don't think they feel they need to offer great bargains or keep the store well stocked, because they have a 'captive audience' read more

Whatever you do, avoid the cashier named "Sherin." She is the rudest cashier I have ever encountered. I have now had 3 separate experiences with her, third time is a charm. The manager offered to sell me eggs at the discounted price because the actual eggs were out of stock & the sale tags were still up. I finished my shopping & made the regrettable decision to go to Sherin's line for check out. NO ONE was in her line, that should have been a clue!. Before she started scanning items I told her about the eggs. She loudly said, "Nope, No, these are not on sale, they aren't even the right brand." I had already told her the manager offered them at $1.49 but she refused to listen. I told her I was aware they were not the brand advertised but the dark haired young woman, (manager), had told me she would honor the $1.49 price. Sherin STILL told me "NO." I asked her to please call the manager. Sherin rolled her eyes, called for the manager, let ut a big sigh & loudly said, "I'm so done!" Imagine BIG SIGH'S and then she turned to the checker on the next register to say it again - loudly - "I'm done!" The checker just looked at her and smiled. Sherin went on to tell her, "Oh, you think I'm kidding, well I'm not!" I'm so out of here." She then mumbled something I didn't catch. She very rudely finished ringing me up and then pretty much threw my receipt. It still baffles me, what was she "done" with? If she meant she was quitting her job that would be a welcome sight to me and other customers. Unfortunately, when I called to speak to the manager the next day Sherin answered the phone, guess she wasn't "done." I receive the daily emails with deals and on a separate occasion I made the mistake of asking Sherin where a product was located. She rudely asked me, "Have you even looked?" she went on to tell me she had no idea where to find it and brushed me off just like that. There was yet another rude encounter with Sherin, I could go on but why? When I spoke with my daughter and a neighbor yesterday they confirmed they had also had rude encounters with the infamous Sherin. Here is what I do not understand, why is she still employed? When I called and spoke with the manager it was like she'd heard it all before. She was very polite and listened but offered no solution. She didn't offer to speak with this person or anything. I have to go back to this store to make a return on a product they sold me the other day that expired back in April but after that I won't go back. My daughter and neighbor have also stated they will boycott this location. I will continue to look for great deals but in the future I will shop the store located at the corner of Watt and Whitney. Oh, and when I was in the Watt Avenue store I mentioned my experience to the checker, she actually apologized for my experience. She asked, was this the Maroni store? When I told her that it was, she said they always hear about bad experiences at the Carmichael Marconi store, go figure! Lastly employees don't wear name tags so I'll describe Sherin to you. She is always at the closest register to the door. She is an older woman and has straggly gray hair til about her shoulders and then there is color on the rest of her hair, (I'm guessing she is growing it out to go gray). read more

ALWAYS CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATE WHEN BUYING FROM HERE!!! I've bought multiple things from this store that were EXPIRED! Unfortunately most cases, I was just in a rush to grab it and get home. Not paying any mind that maybe this food is bad (because I just purchased it) I had already consumed part of the item. Shame on me for not checking the date and putting trust in a grocery store to not sell things that are bad. I'll take that L. The store manager Mary in my opinion is racist. They don't enforce the mask mandate even when I expressed my concerns over people in the store not wearing their masks when I had my 2 year old grandson in the store who can't get vaccinated. The store manager ordered me to control my attitude like I was a slave and would not finish ringing up my groceries until I had controlled my attitude , she even kept saying that she has the power to not continue ringing up my groceries and said she has the authority to ask me to leave but said she had no power to enforce the mask mandate, we went back and forth and she ended up telling me to get the f out of her store in front of my two year old grandson. I am an African American woman and other white people started coming to white Mary's defense. She didn't even take the complaint or the safety of my grandson seriously.
