I called them to make sure the rates were accurate, and to get an idea of when they would do the test. The guy was super nice, and he said he'd do the test on Wednesday, and they said they'd leave a note on the door when it was completed. They did it a day early, and left the note on the door just like they said. This was exactly the ideal experience in my opinion, so I strongly recommend them!

Their reminder system is not aligned with municipal requirements, and their billing and accounts receivable processes are fundamentally flawed. I was repeatedly told by staff that a prior invoice had not been paid, despite the fact that I retained written confirmation showing the payment was submitted through their Intuit QuickBooks link and acknowledged with a "thank you for your payment" email. Despite providing this documentation, the company unilaterally canceled a scheduled service appointment the day before it was to occur, citing non-payment. When confronted with proof, the explanation shifted to a claim that they "never received the funds from the credit card company," which is not a defensible position to place on a customer after confirming receipt. These outdated business practices, inconsistent internal communication, and lack of basic financial controls introduce unnecessary risk for clients. While I had initially intended to continue using this company, the operational failures and resulting service disruption make them unreliable and difficult to do business with. There are other providers who can deliver the same service with greater professionalism, transparency, and reliability, and I will be pursuing those alternatives going forward.

I get a letter from the city saying my test was incomplete and that my water will be cutoff soon. I called back and was told they had forgot to submit the report and they would do it ASAP. There were no mention of the second device cost so I thought maybe they were going to throw it in for free since there was a lateness. I of course then get an email with the invoice for the additional device and finally a few days later I think I was cc'ed on the report sent to the city. Now, if I had been out or didn't check my mail for a while I really could have my water turned off and I think that even affects my credit? That's not good.

Previously we had the testing done through the company that installed our gas boiler (Northwest Mechanical) but they decided to focus on the installation business and referred me to A+ Backflow. Initially there weren't any reviews for the business so I contacted Pops Backflow, but Pops was all booked up and referred me to A+ Backflow saying "Dave is very good and always shows up for his appointments. He has all his ducks in a row in regards to insurance, licensing, bonds, etc. He is honest and does everything by the book. I got him connected with NW and they have told me their customers are very happy with his service, I'm sure you will be too." Dave Kuca at A+ Backflow responded promptly to my call and was able to fit me in with short notice so I could meet the city's deadline. He did a great job and accepts credit cards with a Square reader.

He explained to me what he was doing and did not speak to me in a condescending manner which is impressive considering I didn't bother to ask the former owner of my property where the water shut off is located. Frank had a busy schedule yet he was able to fit us in and worked 12 hour days this Summer to complete the whole job in a week. He did a great job communicating with my wife and I about the layout of our irrigation system. He also addressed our concerns about the rocky soil we were dealing with. He took extra time to listen to us and went out of his way to address our concerns. You can see the contrast from the photos how nice of a job Frank pulled off for us. Once the irrigation system was installed Frank took a great deal of time to explain how it worked and how to best set it up for the year. He also came by to winterize our system just recently! Another thing to consider is that many landscaping companies also provide irrigation as one of their services. However, you want to pay attention to the quality of their work and components. Frank, in contrast, specializes in irrigation and has a deep knowledge base behind what he does. He also demonstrated to us his commitment to providing a very high level of quality in his finished work.
