Although (like most places), shelves were often light to empty, but many other products were well stocked. zoo wee mama I luhhh this place! My fellow yelper and I found ourselves right at home. Mr.Encke,staff and fellow shoppers welcomed us with opened arms (figuratively of course bc of covid and the CDC guides lines) We B LINED it to the rotisserie chicken section. Let me just say if u haven't tried any of their chicken products u are missing out. The chefs are unmatchable and give off immaculate vibes. To top it all off WE GOT A HEART SHAPED CHICKEN TENDER BECAUSE THOSE CHEFS MAKE IT WITH LOVE (See photo attached) Next, We had the most enjoyable and intellectually stimulating conversation with Mr.Encke. This is a very modern, very clean looking Stop & Shop. It is also a hi-tech supermarket as you can use a bar code scanner to shop around the store and easily check out in a flash as you scan, bag and when done shopping pay and you are out. Huge produce department, large deli section as well as a very well stocked fresh fish and meats department. It has a bank which is also open on Sundays which makes your one stop shopping on Sunday even easier. Good customer service at the deli and the fish/meat counters. Very helpful and they kniw their business. The bad is that this store is one town over from where I live but it is worth visiting as it has a larger selection and more variety than the Stop & Stop in our town. Plenty of parking in a large strip mall that also has a Starbuck. This is the best of supermarket world as you can tell the difference once you step in. read more

Can I give negative stars?? Twice within the past 2 weeks I've purchased something from Stop and Shop, only to come home and find out it's moldy. First it was goat cheese, then it was pita bread. Both had a purchase/use by date in the future. This tells me a couple things. 1. They're over-stocking based on their volume (and really, who can blame customers for choosing other stores over Stop and Shop). 2. They don't maintain proper climate control to preserve the freshness of their products. I thought I was taking a quick trip to the nearest grocery store to pick up some food, and instead it's turned into a time suck, a waste of energy and gas, and a lot of frustration. If you have another grocery store within 10 miles, I strongly suggest you visit that rather than Stop and Shop, particularly the one in Wyckoff. read more

I don't go to this Stop and Shop too much anymore. It's a large, clean store but so uninspired. There is no hot food bar and they don't set up the fresh salad bar on the weekend. Convenient parking and in a renovated shopping center with Marshall's, Starbucks, a pet supply store and a few restaurants. If I have extra time I would go to Fairway or Whole Foods. However, the meat is fresh and you can get anything you need here. They have a good selection of gift cards and a mini card store near the front. read more

Big supermarket. Most items are over priced. But it's well stocked and you can do self check out. It's also in a shopping center with a lot of other stores. Parking lot is very large. Easy to run in and grab what you need quickly. read more

I have never been disappointed when shopping in this Stop & Shop. The employee's are well trained, courteous and helpful. The store itself is clean and the shelves are always full. Fruit and vegetables are fresh and tempting. The meat department has beautiful cuts of meat. I find it important that the Butcher will cut and trim my roast's when I ask, and will always have a tip to insure success when cooking. This team is the best. The employees are professional, helpful, proactive, efficient and personable. The store is well-stocked, clean, neat, has good food and some great sales! They carry some organic items and not all stores do. They make good sandwiches and chicken. I have often stopped in for an affordable, delicious meal. The pharmacy staff was excellent and quite helpful! The most amazing thing I ever experience in a pharmacy was when this Stop & Shop provided a generic prescription for only $18.99, when my own pharmacy wanted to charge me almost $1,000!!!!!!! I have to say that this is probably the best Stop & Shop that I have ever been to. There is a small section of organics and naturals, but there are a ton of organic options all throughout the store - definitely the biggest selection in the area besides places like Trader Joe's. I have to say that Nancy the cashier has always been very friendly and informative. It's nice to get that old personable feel of a grocery store experience rather than going to the self-checkout, which I tend to do in most stores nowadays. Store is large and well-stocked. Many items under one roof= less time running to different stores. The aisles are wide enough for multiple carts and the store is clean. The store was recently rearranged to make items easier to find. Regular patrons receive personalized coupons for items they will really buy. The only drawback is the higher price point. I know a lot of people that cannot wait until shop rite would come into town. Honestly , I can't agree with them more. The hot food selection is very poor. Chicken -Chicken and Chicken. We have been in town for 5 years and nothing had changed. Every time we want to go to quick launch( not a sit down) we have to drag our feet into the store. The new Stop & Shop just opened a couple of weeks ago...I want the old one back!!!!! This new store is so ginormous... I get winded walking from one end of the store to the other! You are greeted at the door by employees who are super friendly and anxious to give you the best possible shopping experience ...on the shelves, the high priced items are at eye level, the lower priced ones too high or too low to reach, and the products are fully stocked with all of the labels perfectly aligned. The store no longer has that quaint small town feel to it, it had been engineered to be a money making machine. Some may like the change but for me, I just want my local market back! read more

I used to go to the Stop & Shop in Waldwick, but since this has opened, my family prefers to shop here. Yes, it's huge, but it has EVERYTHING. I have yet to go and not find what I am looking for. As for the overpriced items being at eye-level...welcome to marketing. I love the ethnic food selection - other stores in the chain have this aisle, but this actually has foods I've had in other countries. The store is clean, the scanners to shop while you SHOP are heaven. You can have as much or as little interaction with the staff as you want. Admittedly, I still miss an aisle and have to go back to find what I've passed, but I would much prefer knowing that the item is definitely there than knowing I have another market to go to after the first round of grocery shopping. I could say a lot of great things about this store that have been pretty much covered but I want to particularly recognize a lovely customer service manager, Charlene M., who came to my aide one rainy evening when I got vertigo and could not tell up from down. The produce department has issues. In the past month I have seen moldy strawberries in several containers in the store, rotten tomatoes days after bringing them home, and returned organic carrots that were slimy after 4 days. I know of others that have had similar issues. read more

Great store, always clean and has wide variety. Customer service is always helpful. I must point out an exceptional employee, John. I usually see John doing various jobs out on the floor or outside, ranging from cleaning, organizing, assisting others, to pulling in carts from outside. John is always willing to stop and say hello, giving a friendly and personal touch to my shopping experience. In addition, I would never normally write a negative review of any sort, but feel I must make mention of two things. One is that many times the prices do not ring up correctly at the register. At least one in five shopping trips I find myself holding up the line for a price check, or returning to the store to stand on customer svc line with my receipt for a refund. This happens very often and the store has rescinded the policy of 'if sale price does not ring up item is free'. My second complaint is with a cashier by the name of Kitty. To avoid aggravation, I usually go to any cashier other than Kitty even if it means standing on a longer line. But due to there being a very limited number of cashiers open, today I had no choice. Once again I had the unfortunate pleasure of her unwillingness to help a customer when the price rang up incorrectly, the attitude that came along with it, and then when I was leaving, heard her talking about me behind my back. I am a very easy going & simple person who again, normally would never make a complaint that could hurt someone. But this lady has got to go! I have also overheard her in the past badmouthing other customers as they were leaving the store. Someone really needs to pay attention to how poorly Kitty treats a customer and how that customer feels when leaving the store. If I leave the store with a bad experience I am not likely to return too soon. read more

On the positive side the store is always clean and they have a very good meat department. Prices are just average and sales are competative. Unfortunately checking out is a whole other story. The checkout is a nightmare. The staff at the registers are lazy and rude. I don't think I've ever gone to check out when the person at the register hasn't asked me to go to another register. They always stop what they're doing and look at me like I'm crazy for being at they're register. They have literally stopped checking out the person before me and walked out into the Isle to see if there is a shorter line to transfer me to. one person actually has the nerve to slam her hand down on the counter and mutter under her breath the whole time she's finishing the person she's currently helping. if this was a one time thing it wouldn't bother me (everyone has a bad day). Unfortunately this happens on a regular basis. Also, sale discounts are constantly not coming off the bill. Believe me, I don't go to Stop and Shop so I can choose the longest line to stand on and have to hold up that line because I have to fight for advertised discounts. I'd be a rich woman if I didn't have to go there 5 days a week . I'm all for the new Shop Rite coming in next door. read more
