My experience was horrible. Some guy short and chubby was disrespectful to me. He started harassing me because I didn't give him my number and started to send weird explicit photos towards me. All because I refused to give him my number after he helped me find these baked cookies. I'm pretty sure his name was Adrian Ramirez. read more

Prepared food service is abysmal. Asked if more 8pc fried chicken was coming out and employee's(2) told me that they were tired. If it wasn't for the fact of this store being close to home, I wouldn't bother going there. I had the best experience with the pharmacy at Stop and Shop 2540 South RD. Poughkeepsie. Specifically with Abraham. I had never been a customer (at the pharmacy) and stopped in to check and see if they had a product in stock. (As I was getting strung along by another pharmacy) He said "yes- of course" I explained that the script was at another pharmacy. He said no problem- he'd call and have it transferred. Well, easier said than done. He tried to get through for almost an hour. I had to drive to the other pharmacy and wait while he called. Let's just say he went WAY ABOVE and beyond my expectations. It was getting close to closing time at this point, and I told him (on the phone) that if it had to wait until the following day - I understood. But 15 mins later I got a message that it was ready for pick-up. Thank you Abraham! I really appreciate you! I will be transferring ALL my prescriptions to your pharmacy. read more

Decent location. Well organized. Produce section is good. Meat department is more stocked than other local locations. They had some sort of robot that went around the store cleaning it. The thing was huge and freaked me out... welcome to 2019. At least the floors are clean. Easy checkout system. Employees are fine and don't bother me while I shop but they are around working if you need help. Lots of people complain about the deli here so I just avoid it. I love stop and shop for the scan it option and this location always has plenty of scanners fully charged. read more

Many years ago, when I lived about a mile from it, the original version of this Stop & Shop was my go-to store, and I liked it very much. It was one of the first - if not the first - Stop & Shop in the area, and I believe it was one of the first to "go super." Admittedly, Stop & Shop is not among my favorite grocery store chains. But this one is, at least, significantly better than the one in Hyde Park. I think part of that is because it's right across the street from Price Chopper, and it has to be more competitive (as opposed to the one in Hyde Park which has a stranglehold on local grocery shopping). Plusses: - This Stop & Shop has an excellent salad bar and very reasonably priced. If I were still working across the street I would definitely prefer to get a salad here. - Decent natural foods and organic sections, and dairy - A pretty good bakery - Some good sales - Good self-checkouts (5) Minuses: - The floors are in bad shape: scuffed, and needing more sweeping and cleaning on a more regular basis - The men's room was filthy - Thank you for being honest and indicating on your packaging that some of the salmon is "color added" (though maybe that's required by law). It's actually the first time I've seen it. I appreciate your honesty, but I probably won't buy much fish here. - And prices are, in general, higher than other grocery stores in the vicinity. So I've been shopping here for years as it is pretty darn close to where I grew up. The store itself is in a great location in a plaza and is the anchor store (and the largest) of the ones surrounding it. The facilities are always clean, workers smile, and from time to time they'll host a local girl or boy scout troop out front to fundraise. I've never had any complaints with this location and will continue to be a loyal customer! read more

This store is so close to my home. Its clean and organized. A bit overpriced, (but I decided that I would pay a higher price to shop here because I wanted to treat myself to a nice shopping experience) WOW...could not have been more wrong !!!! I was snapped at by one of the female employees for reaching around her cart (which was left unattended in the aisle. I was told that I might contaminate it , even though I had a mask on and did not touch it...it was filled with cardboard only. She said I will get that for you! but I already had it in my hand. She then said loud enough for me to hear "I am so sick of you people.!!!!..."I was floored!!! I asked for her name several times and she kept refusing and telling me no and getting loud with me. I then asked for the manager who then spoke to the employee ...whispering something in her ear, and then coming to me . I asked if I could speak to her in private but she refused and made me stand next to the employee and give my "side of things" She was very dismissive and said I heard you and I understand in a cold tone. It was apparent to me that they were just gonna brush me off and make me look like I was one of "those people " like the girl mentioned. There was no apology for a bad experience, there was no trying to actually solve the problem. I was so pissed I put everything back and left. It was apparent that the two of them had decided I was the problem just another customer coming in and expecting good customer service....I mean really ,who did I think I was ? How dare me !!! , wanting to be treated like my business mattered! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GIVE ANY OF MY MONEY TO THIS PLACE! Terrible customer service !!!!!!!!! Old lady that works at the self checkout is unhelpful and very nasty. I asked for her help to remove an item off the screen that I was being charged for. She waved me off and snarled, then waddled her way over to some old guy to flirt. All she had to say was she was helping someone else. She was nasty and sarcastic. When she finally made her way over, she didn't take the item off and yelled at me. I will not return to this supermarket even though I have been shopping here for years. This kind of treatment is inappropriate and unacceptable. read more

Never much of a fan of this location. Primarily due to deli. When I say quarter pound they hear half pound. Half pound must mean a pound. No no no! I order what I order for a reason. A slice or two over is ok, doubling my order is not. Also I can usually count on one item being scanned/scammed at higher price (beer, not covered by scan guarantee). read more

Wow - I can't believe someone would give a 1 star review to a place because one staff person was out of line with someone. This location is the best Stop & Shop location I've ever been to. The produce section is always out of this world - it's like out of a commercial, for pete's sake. The deli section is pretty awesome too - with a lot of great cold and hot food options. You will first be welcomed by a fresh, beautiful floral section that anyone would love something from! The rest of the store is great, and has a really amply stocked, fresh selection of items from aisle to aisle. It's not super close to my house, so I often end up going to the location by AC Moore more down Route 9, but it really is worth a stop. It's the best S&S location in the area, with the best produce in the area besides Adams!!! read more

We never have a problem with this place. Always excellent customer service, people are great, but the only problem we ever have is with the deli counter. The employees behind the counter are more concerned about stocking the shelves with pre cut meats than taking care of the customers in line. One incident includes us waiting in line for TEN minutes while everyone is ignoring us and ONE person was taking actual orders (mind you there were 5 employees), after expressing annoyance a man who seemed to be a manager of some sort yelled out to an employee in the back saying "we need you at the counter, this lady is going crazy". It was incredibly unprofessional and rude therefore resulting in this poor review. read more

Went to this stop and shop today (and probably for the last time). I usually use the scanner gun to speed up my check out. I never felt more welcome than to be audited the last three times I have been there. It makes a black man feel like a thief. I was embarrassed for myself and my wife. I can;t believe that they audit everyone each time they shop. Why they want to embarrass people with constant audits, I don't know, but I wll be doing my shopping accross the street at Price chopper (which has lower prices anyway). Deli's gross!!! I would give a zero if possible. Last week an older deli man took his hat off and scratched his dirty head with his gloved hand and then thought he would slice my order. I corrected him and told him to change his gloves. Then a young guy literally came running out of the bathroom and said that he'll slice my order. He then blows into his gloves to inflate them to put on his wet hands. How gross! I corrected him and explained that now all of his germs and any viruses like the flu, carnivorous, cold etc.., and I'm thinking any form of hepatitis, is now on those gloves and is going to make contact with my food. This is disgusting! Next, I had to ask them to clean the filthy slicers caked with pieces from all of the old food they sliced that day. My daughter also recently bought deli meat there and was disgusted when she opened it at home to see all of the old gross meat crumbs stuck all over it. These practices are disgusting and I'm sure must break some food health violations. Wonder how long it's been since they were inspected. We've shopped here since the store opened, but no more deli for us! read more

I am just wondering why the Hyde Park Store is run sooooo much better than the South Road location in Poughkeepsie? The South Road store is dirty and poorly stocked, the bakery is shabby the produce section just rambles, the meat is confusing and the staff outfit/uniforms are frequently sloppy or dirty.. And one is lucky to find a bag packer. If I am presented with these conditions I might as well go to Price Chopper across the street. So the South Store is 1 mile from my home. My choice is either drive the 5 miles to Hyde Park or the Hannaford in Wappingers. You are certainly not the cheapest despite all the WOWs everywhere in the store it is not a good experience Please Please fix this store. Thank you. read more

Stop and shop is great! I don't particularly have problems shopping here due to the prices but things do become mildly more affordable with a stop and shop card. Lines aren't usually that long but can definitely become endless when shopping in the weekends, although expected. Overall this is my usual place to go shopping for food, I'm not a fan of Price Chopper across the street. read more

Overall I like Stop and Shop. Produce is great. They never try to pass off sub quality produce onto customers. Everything is neat. Stop and Stop store brand bread rolls, those in the bread aisle, are much high quality than other supermarket's store brands. I go out of my way for them. In meats, their Italian sausage compares well with the best brands and also lower priced. I often find good deals on chicken as well. Overall meats are very good. Bakery is great. Cakes have the right texture and flavor but the bakery bread rolls are a little cakey (too close to cake in texture). I usually pass on them in favor of the store brand rolls in the bread aisle. S&S carries a lot of variety in their aisles but prices can be a big variable from a good deal to too expensive. I really wish they would carry Bridgeford frozen bread dough. I hate going to other stores for it. The Rx prescriptions needs a little improvement. Usually I have to wait an hour after its called in to get it filled but S&S is way cheaper than CVS so it is worth the wait. Been shopping at S&S for 40 years. read more

Went on the fourth of July for some last minute things. Walked in and was outraged seeing the assistant store manager yelling at an elderly man. I have been going here for years and years. They have now lost my business I will never step foot in this store again nor will any of my family members. The store should be ashamed by having such an evil man representing them. read more
