There are a few tables outside that are maintained very nicely and My Favorite is that you can always find a wide assortment of dairy products because after all, that's what this family started as And I want to express my appreciation because they have a free tire inflator station out front You'll pay $.04-$.10 more per gallon for gas but the convenience of having this great little shop with friendly people in your own neighborhood makes that worth it read more

This is solely for the Stewart's Shop located at 54 Vassar Rd, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603 store number 357. This location needs a serious review of their employees. Most of them are absolutely lovely. The three employees I'd like to point out for a disgusting customer experience, unprofessional conduct and emotional outbursts that one should ever display in their place of work. First Danielle, she is the store manager. Second Ericha Singleton. Third, Arianna. Management of a small situation was required and I asked to speak to the Manager. Ericah called Danielle who was not in the store but as per Ericah, Danielle, the Manager refused to speak with me and made no attempt to diffuse the situation as Ericah's emotions were clearly rising, she was becoming aggressive and she even told her manager "she was about to go off on us". My husband and I have been customers of this location for almost a year. I buy cigarettes there about every two to three days. Ericha and Arianna are very familiar with me and have sold me cigarettes many times since I've frequented this location. I'm 47 years old and my Husband is 49. I asked my husband to purchase a box of cigarettes for me in addition to some other items we had on the counter. Arianna asked for ID and my husband gave her his ID. She then looked at me, and said I'm going to need your ID too. I asked her why? She said because you are with him and it is the store policy. I replied that I'm not the purchaser and his ID should suffice. I also asked if I came in with a group of people and purchased cigarettes would she need to ID the entire the group. She did not answer. Please keep in mind, Arianna and Ericha have sold me cigarettes many times and I've always shown my ID. This felt off to me as it was feeling a bit discriminatory as if Arianna was jpurposely trying to give us a hard time. She then called Ericha over and I asked if she had the store policy posted anywhere because I've never heard of this in my entire experience purchasing items that require ID. Especially knowing that's she's ID'd me so many times. My husband and I do not appear to be minors or even under 30. Him showing his ID was no issue for me as she was doing what is required of her in her job, but for her to demand that I show ID as well was excessive. Ericha's answer was that it was not required but since Arianna already asked me then I would need to show my ID in addition to my husbands ID. We are both in our late 40's, again. Ericha could not produce any policy details so I asked for the managers information. This is when she called Danielle the store manager which I explained what happened prior. My asking for this information upset Danielle and Ericha. Ericha then states "we will give the information and after this Danielle does not want you guys to come back to this store". I then asked why would she not want us to come back? She answered because you are causing a scene in the store. At this time, another patron was in the store and she was even appalled by how we were being treated. The other patron stated that we were not causing any threat or any fear for safety so she didn't understand why Ericha would say that. She also stated that she no longer wanted to make her purchase from this store and left without a purchase due to Ericha's behavior and how we were being treated. Ericha even became aggressive with the other patron as well, turning to address her very inappropriately. Ericha called the cops unnecessarily and upon arrival told the cop she wanted be able to call the police and have us arrested if we came back to the store. I'm shocked that she would think I would consider spending another dollar at that store after this horrible experience. The other patron also stated she would be contacting the Alderman as will I. I've never had any issues in this store, I come in, exchange niceties with the employees make my purchase and leave. I'm not sure why we were targeted like this by Arianna and Ericha - they know us, I'm always pleasant and I really truly liked the kids that work here. read more

This gas station is the best in the land Great Ice cream, Service is incredible. I asked for a Mint cookie crumble milkshake (not the easiest to mix might I add) and, 3 - 5 minutes later I had my shake . The customer service was great, the nice young man behind the counter was very informative and let us try multiple flavors. Stewart's Shops based in Saratoga Springs, NY operates over 300 stores in NY and VT. A kinder gentler gas station/convenience store with an old world feeling and a staff you swear worked in your school's lunchroom. Every location serves food and ice cream. There's something about a Stewart's that makes you feel like a kid again. Although they look disgusting, I have fished many a limp gray hot dog out of the upright stainless steamer. They're not good, but you go for it anyhow, perhaps it's the thrill of the hunt? What I think is good at Stewart's is the ice cream. Cones, shakes, sundaes all at very low prices. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite. Give them a try, you're low on gas anyhow read more

I don't know if the other reviews are from the same station or not. But every time I go In, I'm ignored. To the point where I had a worker walk by me 3 times this morning. Without even a hello or look in my direction. I suggest management keep an eye on the cameras. I walked out without any service saying never again! The night people there is a lady and young guy working that are the worst. I walked in to grab some cigarettes and beer and because some guy walked in front of me as I walked in was going to buy a beer and he didn't have ID he was declined which is fine. I go up to the register next they ask for ID no problem even though I'm old enough to be their father they said I couldn't purchase beer or cigarettes because the guy before me walked into the store when I did. They were very rude and thought it was funny. The next morning I go talk to the manager about it because I go there all the time they said they had the right to do that if they feel that way. So being rude and nasty is ok. Also the week before my wife stopped in because our children wanted a snack. They got chocolate milk and cookies she was picking up cigarettes so she didn't have to go back out. The same two workers were there said no cigarettes because she had kids with her Nasty and rude also. So I guess if you need ID to purchase something you have to wait until nobody is coming in or out the door when you go in and can't bring your children in the store. That's a first of going through any of that at any store. read more

Great ice cream, great staff, specialty beverages are always a grand slam and while some prices are a little steep, you do have to understand that it is a convenience store so certain products will be more expensive as opposed to going into a supermarket. I absolutely recommend this place if you want ice cream on the cheap but also want stellar quality. read more

Customer service is a choppy. The past few times and tonight I wasn't to thrilled of the service I received. Tonight I felt like I was bothering the cashier because I asked for a slice of pizza. And after I paid she drop the change in my hand almost falling out of my hand on to the floor. I told her to have a good night and she said uh huh. Not, you have a good night or how about thank you, come again? I think I've been going here to much lately. I am an 80+ yr old lady who lives near the new Stewart's store on East Fulton Street in Gloversville, New York. Saturday afternoon, March 12,2016, I bought eggs and yogurt in the new shop. I noticed that my right front tire was very soft. I asked the manager, who cashed me out, if there was any young man around who could put some air in my tire. He immediately got a young lady, who was on busy elsewhere, to take over and he,himself, most graciously, put air in my tire. So often , only bad experiences are reported.
