I frequent this stop and shop often. Every time I go here, the store is clean and very stocked. I appreciate the ability to scan as you go and pay quickly as you are done. The WORST!!! I have shopped at many supermarkets and this one is just TERRIBLE!!!! They have a cashier who is 4ft tall and I'm assuming she is 89 yrs old. She is usually working as the only cashier. She pushes jugs of water bottles, huge bottles of Juice and assorted food. Meanwhile, there is a 20-something vibing out at customer service. The manager is totally useless! When I explained that the elderly cashier needs help, the manager said she needed to finish her coffee ((Excuse me, what?)) The self check out always has a huge line, bc the Human cashiers are rude and rush you. Today, I patiently waited my turn bc the person in front of me spilled something. My turn comes, I could not even bag my groceries before the cashier rang up the next customer and her food is mixing with mine. Where did manners go? Common respect? The service here is an abomination. Was here on 10/5 around 5:30. My friend had trouble using her stop and shop card at self check out. When she told the self check out attendant it wasn't working, the check out attendant gave us attitude. She said "sure isn't" instead of looking or offering helpful solutions. Drive the two miles further away to go to the other stop and shop. It's not worth dealing with people who get paid too much to do too little. read more

Store is generally clean and well stocked but the prices are higher than nearby Shop Rites. Beef is way over priced and most is in cryovac so rarely buy it. Seafood is fine and deli is ok but could be cleaner. I primarily go here for sale items or because it is on my way home that day. Staff is ok, some nice and some not. This place has gotten to be so awful. There is literally zero staff anymore. Everything is self checkout which saves the company money while they continue to raise prices. If you do find staff for an issue, they are rude and will not help unless you become upset. That spill detecting robot is a menace, and they steadfastly refuse to do anything about people who keep parking in the online pickup spots who leave to shop in the store and leave no spots for people who are actually picking up an online order. read more

Not having shopped here in months, I did a quick shop there this morning. It was nice to see hand sanitizer stations located at the entry and various locations near the checkout, BUT, every single one of them was empty. And at one of them, an employee had the audacity to let me know it was empty, no apology, no offer to refill it nothing but a silly looking expression. That being said, shelves are mostly stocked, but not pre-pandemic levels, shopping cart area is dirty, and produce prices are high. There are much better supermarkets around. read more

After an unbelievably bad experience in the Levittown store earlier that day I tried to find a new product here as the product's web site said S&Ss on Long Island were carrying their products. Feeling bad about such a dismal review of the other store I must at least say THIS one is better! No they STILL didn't seem to have my 'vegan tuna' & there STILL was no where to look it up...this store didn't even have the 'sham' customer service counter Levittown had! It did have a clearly marked & fairly well stocked 'organic, natural, health' food area though there was no refrigerated/freezer area like BOTH Amityville & Seaford. My extensive comments on S&S's lack of ability to give service to it's customers @ any sort of reasonable expectation & it's seemingly 'looming' demise still apply here! I was very disappointed with the bakery. I found shards of plastic in $5 frosted brownies. Good thing I saw it before I gave it to my grandson. Thats not why I'm writing a bad review. I've never had an issue with this store until today. We bought meat from here yesterday and were told they could not give us an exchange because of their new policy. I spoke with the manager, Tiffany who advised I should keep the package and wait until further notice until their policy changes. 1.The fact that they say to hold on to the package or barcode of stinky bad meat they sold to us is disgusting and I'm appalled. 2. There is no reason why we should not be able to exhange bad meat the store sold to us only just yesterday. It is their responsibility and it's disgusting behavior. For the last three trips to this store, each time the sales price did not come up at checkout. All different products. To top it off, the attendant made it known he was annoyed when he had to walk back to check the price. I get that this is one of the last stores to be upgraded but it sure seems like you are trying to pull one over on your shoppers. How many hundreds if not thousands in savings did you pocket? Not well kept . Ice cream often melted and refrozen into strange shapes (Yasso and enlightened ) there could be one person in the store and yet still be a line . Almost always no live cashiers just self checkout . Lots of issues for a nice newish big store. read more

I was very conflicted how to rate this review- it's sort of a 2 part review to be honest. Part 1- absolute 5 star rating for the PHARMACY department here!!! I've gone on multiple Facebook groups and recommended KRISTEN & ANDREW with the utmost respect!! They both have gone above and beyond for me in the 12 years I've lived in Farmingdale and used them for my pharmaceutical needs. You'll never find a more professional yet personable pharmacist that will keep your best interests in mind. They've helped me with multiple insurance issues over the years and they're always so prompt too! One time I was at the doctor, he left the room to fill out what he was prescribing me, and as he walked back into the exam I got the text from Stop & Shop Pharmacy to let me know my order was ready for pick up- even the doctor was amazed at their efficiency!! I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes at the absolute longest(9/10 times no wait at all) and they're both just so pleasant. Part 2- the rest of the store LOL. Now- I am writing this review during the COVID pandemic but my review is based off of my experiences BEFORE the pandemic. The supermarket was always well stocked and maintained, with fair pricing. Typically I avoid food shopping at these big corporate places because I prefer to support small businesses. The produce isn't always the best quality here and I would usually only get my frozen,canned, and snack foods here. Everything else I prefer from other stores. I noticed over the past couple years as corporate started to switch over to prioritizing self check outs that things started to really go downhill. I even had two employees at two separate visits tell me how miserable they were with the self check outs taking away their hours, and causing issues amongst staff and management. I even filed a complaint with corporate because way too many times there weren't cashiers available when I had an entire cart full of groceries and they expected me to use the self checkout for $200+ worth of groceries?! I rate the supermarket part of stop and shop 3 stars because their produce and meat quality is lacking, for sure. Their staff wasn't happy before the pandemic and I'm sure they aren't now. As soon as things start to normalize and I can go back to my usual markets for food shopping I will be doing that as quickly as possible. The only reason I have been coming here during this pandemic is because my pharmacy is here and I will never go to another pharmacy unless Kristen or Andrew leave I will follow them!!! If they leave I'll never set foot in stop and shop again because there are 7 other supermarkets within 15 minutes of my house with better quality, pricing, and management. Stop and Shop is a good addition to the neighborhood , for the most part. They have been slacking off in quality as of late. On my Sunday evening shopping experience, the store was a mess! Items were "bowled" into the isles, for stocking later on. This was at 7pm, mind you, no where near the 12 midnight closing time. I could see if it was late night, say after 10pm. Nope! I tripped , twice on small grouping of stuff. Then I turned a corner and became tangled in a huge piece of plastic from some boxes, WTF!!! Stuff was not in it's correct place, all over the store. Produce selection is skimpy too. I like S&S because of some of their prices on canned goods, etc and because it's very local to me, but I'm tending to go elsewhere because of the quality as of lately. I shop here as it's in my neighborhood. Forget the deli counter. Usually has half a dozen employees working but only one - very very slow - person helping all customers standing and waiting. The slicing machines are filthy. I suppose the other employees are working on pea pod orders. The specials advertised are always somewhere in the back - where the employee disappears for about 10 minutes. What's up with that! The rudest and laziest customer service employee! I was at the self checkout by the customer service desk. I had trouble with the checkout. The computer froze so I requested assistance. The woman ignored me and refused to assist me. I left the line, loudly proclaiming her lack of assistance and went to another line with a " real helpful human being ". I explained to that woman, who, by the way was helpful and nice. I told her what a jerk the woman at the Customer Service Desk was. As I left the woman passed me and headed towards the register that I had left, to find out what I said about her. As she passed, I sarcastically, THANKED HER FOR ALL HER HELP.. I will be back! Just moved to Farmingdale and am so glad I found this stop and shop. I originally went to the Pathmark on 110 and it was a disaster. The parking lot was a mess and the place was zoo. Unfortunate, because there was so much hope that this would be an improvement over the old Walbaum's in Farmingdale (now closed). To be sure, the building itself is nice. Pharmacy is actually very well run. Bakery is good. Some of the front end (cashiers) are very pleasant. But overall, the store is poorly managed. Really poorly managed. Management fails - and fails consistently - at the basics. Shopping carts...good chance on any given day there will be none in the lobby and you'll have to go out to the parking lot and get one. Shopping baskets...don't be surprised if you have to walk all the check-out stations to find one. Keep a clean and tidy front entrance...not so much. Weigh stations in the produce area...very few, if they are working. Employees dressing and acting like they care about anything but a paycheck...never mind...untucked and unbuttoned...sloppy looking staff to greet you in the first section as you walk in. You would never have any of these problems, not once, at a Wegmans (or Stew Leonard's, for that matter). At Farmingdale Stop-N-Shop these are regular occurrences. read more

They are Slow, WAY Too Chatty with each other, completely ignoring me & carrying on in their own conversation. Shut up & HURRY up, I want to say. They're uneducated about Products that are sold in their Store, and what is on sale. They seem lazy & like they don't care AT ALL. They don't have the correct Signs up to the corresponding Produce. They have regular Produce where the signs read "Organic". MORONS. They don't order enough Organic Blueberries & way too many other things to mention here. They need to order MORE Organic Produce. PERIOD. Especially Organic Milk. They're always sold out over the Weekend & it is horrible. It forces me to go to another Store. Also, they need to order more of EVERYTHING that they advertise in the Circular, because if I don't go the 1st day, they're completely sold out. The cans/plastic return machines are broken/filled up more times than I could've counted & the floor is sticky & filthy. Also, more times than not, there are no Shopping Carts in the Store, so I've had to go back out to the Parking Lot to get one. Are you EFFING kidding me??????? Oh, and a couple of more annoyances that I can think of right now: There are NEVER enough Cash registers open. NEVER! The wait on line is ridiculous & every one should have a "Bagger". If a Credit Card Pad is missing a pen, REPLACE it!!!! I am NOT using my nail to sign a pad! I've grabbed a nearby set of batteries & used the corner. How ridiculous!!!!!
