A seemingly recently renovated Key Food, waxy polished floors, brighter lighting, but sthe layout was stilla bit confusing. Signage was poor and for running in to try and find some goodies to bring to a friend's party in the area, I spent more time in here then I would have liked. Generally you can find chips and dips within seconds of entering a store but this Key Food, although small, wasn't the easy to navigate. I still have no idea if there's a fresh baked goods area, which is what I was really looking forward to, but alas, I may never actually know unless I stop at this store to bring something else to my friend's house in the future. I liked that the cashier wore a button down and tie, not something you see every day, but his concerted effort to look polished only was for appearance as he seemed overly sleepy and unconcentrate dby his work. read more

The older gentleman that rots away at the self-checkout is not only low IQ, but he is always miserable and rude. He has absolutely no clue what's going on, and I have wished him a good day multiple times after checkout just to be polite, only for him to stare at me and say nothing or blatantly ignore me. This most recent visit, I went in 30 minutes before close to grab one item. All but one of the ACOs, self-checkout stations, were open. There were two teens that walked away from it and went to get on line. The employee told them they were closing registers, so they came back to the ACO area where I now was and got in line. As soon as I went, he told me I was cutting them off in a rude tone and called me out in front of them, which I wasn't because they literally walked away. They even said, "He didn't, because we were on the other line and were back and forth ..it's fine." He, like usual, sat there stalking while I checked out and, and of course, didn't wish the customer(s) a good night back. read more

The sales system is a joke. They have sales signs up to get you to purchase more than 1 of a certain item at a discounted price which magically doesnt exist when its scanned at the register. read more

This supermarket is located in a large shopping center with ample parking. It is a beautiful store that is clean and spacious. They have a lot of products that are hard to find, including an extensive amount of candy and chips from the UK! The staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. The fruit and veggies are fresh. The deli counter is clean and bright and the food looks so appealing and ...what else can I say...FRESH!! The only negative is that that their prices are high. Worth it for convenience and to run in for a few items but for a large shopping experience, they are more expensive then other supermarkets. read more

First of all the prices are outrageous... I can go half a mile and the other direction and shop at Lidl and save a ton of money. not only that I stopped shopping at the Keyfood on Carmen Road because of an employee there who works in the deli. She is the rudest person and was so awful to me that I did complain to the manager and she should've been fired yet she's continues to work there. So I have stopped going there all together and I was there twice weekly to buy groceries I don't understand why they retain employees that are blatantly rude to customers. Maybe they were afraid to fire her because she is a person of color. I don't know. read more

Beware, check your receipt carefully. Two weeks in a row I was overcharged for sale items. Doesn't matter what the sale flyer or the sign on the shelf says, the computer seems to have a mind of its own. And the cashiers are always in a quandary as to how to give a credit or refund the difference. read more

Tried the rather expensive store made general tsao chicken. I'm guessing it was very old. The chicken is extremely hard and chewy with breading that taste like dirty fry oil. So powerful that the dirty taste overpowers any flavor the chicken may have. I can't believe they would sell this. Very disappointed. I will no longer shop here. Not worth trying to interrupt the deli clerks conversation with coworkers to get your order in. read more

Key Food is the best supermarket in the Massapequa area. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a friendly employee who offers you hand sanitizer AND cleans the handle of your shopping cart! Today I was greeted by the nicest man. All the employees are friendly. And not on their phones! And though the store is not as big as Shop Rite, it has whatever I seem to need and it's always clean. Looks nice inside . Produce is garbage you can tell its all what better stores dont want . Sweet potatoes are size of chicken tenders. No such thing as seafood section . This store doesnt carry alot of stuff no avocado oil . Meat section a joke . Nice deli though . Reason for all this must be where the shopping center is located and not on main road. I've been shopping in this store since it opened. During Covid all cleaning products everywhere have been sold out. This store has things others don't and I'm taking hard to find products that you get excited to see in these times. Tommy and Eileen are both fantastic and always ready to help if you need it. I came in Sunday, and the cashier I had, Anthony, was a wonderful boy. He had such a bright smile and an attitude that displays his appreciation of being a cashier. He was so helpful and so sweet throughout my checkout experience. I personally believe that Anthony deserves a raise, a person who is that happy and that good at their job should be making more than minimum wage. Great Job Anthony! Keep up the good work! read more

I love this supermarket. It's always super clean, food and household items are always stocked and neatly arranged, the manager is friendly and the cashiers are too. Even during the height of COVID 19 we were able to find what we needed. This is a great grocery store. The prices are fair for what is offered. You may be able to find better prices advertised at local competitors however at this Key Food you're pretty much guaranteed to get what you need vs. other local grocery stores where the advertised products tend to be running low or not available. This supermarket is a great addition to the N. Massapequa community. read more

Very disappointed with the owners of this store. I visit this store weekly and have always been happy with the way I was treated by the workers, especially the produce workers and butchers. When I went this Sunday, I saw the workers from the meat department holding locked out signs in front of Carman's Road. When I spoke with them, they told me that Key Food management had locked them out and would not sit down to settle a contract. I think the owners own 4 or 5 other stores. Over the years I have spoken to several of them and heard stories of how long they were working for the company. This is how you treat your loyal employees and their families???? I am disgusted and will not return. It's time to shop at one of the many other supermarkets in the area. Shame on Key Food. I will share this with friends and neighbors in the area. read more

It's like, uh, half a Supermarket! VERY small & limited except for maybe the Produce sections. NO BAKERY! If you want to call pre-made, frozen cakes & pies, stale hard rolls, danish, muffins, pastries & bakery-style desserts a "Bakery," then 7/11 has a fast food aisle. A few times I preferred to go to the "Fast, self-checkout" & was told, loudly, by a lady who works there & probably has worked these kind of places all her life, 3 times "Aisle 3 is open!", almost insisting we at the self checkout walk to the other side of the store almost, rolling her eyes & whispering to another Clerk-something. Of course she was perturbed that there was an open cashier & no line yet we all remained at our preferred place to check out! Did she not realize that had we walked to the empty cashier others could get there before us who were ready while we were headed there, & that we were all already checking our stuff out?!? Guess not. Old school, which is what this place is exactly, old school. I call it "Bohack" when I tell any1 I'm going there, lol. Lastly, whenever Entenmann's goes on a "Full line sale," they don't stock most of the favorites much at all, and don't re-stock, so by day 2 of the sale, & for the remaining days, the Entenmann's shelves are nearly empty, & they try to make it look stocked by spreading out all the less popular things-so you have like 10 rows of donuts & "Little Bites" & little else. EVERY TIME IT GOES ON SALE! On Thursdays they remove all the sale signs at like by 4pm, so you don't know what's on sale unless you already knew or have a circular. I don't know what everyone's issue is with this store I think it's wonderful, conveniently located right off the southern state parkway, always neat and clean, I don't do my weekly food shopping here I do prefer a bigger selection, but this is perfect when you need to pick something up on the way home, when you need to get a cake or flowers when going to visit. The fruits and vegetables are all fresh and reasonably priced, the deli department is full service, the bakery portion is somewhat small and you normally have to wait for someone in deli to help but they have a decent selection. The store is small but they pretty much have had anything I have run in for. Everyone there is polite and pleasant. I have never had an issue finding what I needed there. read more

This Key Food (store #448) opened within the last year. At first I thought it would be great to have a supermarket back where the old Pathmark was. But They only took half the old store size. The selection is limited and they are expensive. Worst of all they have very poor customer service. I had a problem with a rude cashier on 1-9-19. I completed a complaint form on their website and after five days I had not heard back. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they sent the new complaint to the store. It has been five days and I have still not heard back. In my letter I stated I don't want anyone fired. I just want someone to explain to me what happened and how they will re-train the cashier. I am blown away by the indifference the organization shows. Shoprite is twice as far but I have been going there for my purchases since. read more
