Ehh this place could be better. The store has no consistency. One minute you're passing meat and the next you're passing car mats. If you like an item and go back for it there's a good chance it won't be there again. The meat looks like the people that frequent the store, sketchy. Just a quick one here. Maybe just an isolated event. We went to Lidl to look at their plants - it's time to plant the containers on our deck. They've got a decent selection of flower baskets - especially considering they're a super market. And the prices are great! $9.99 for a medium sized basket of begonias, impatiens, etc. There's a sign in their fenced in garden area that says "Pay Here." There was no one there. There were several customers who had questions about the plants, or their pots or their soils and mulches, or who wanted to buy something, but there was no one there. My wife went in to ask where we should pay. She spoke to who looked like the manager. He could barely make the effort to look at her and answered her inquiry with disinterest and practically distain. Thanks! Now I've got to deal with an insulted and pissed off wife. Lol. Like I said, it was probably and hopefully an isolated event. Everyone is entitled to a moment. Nonetheless, we rolled our carts into the store (remember, I'm recovering from surgery gone wrong and this was physically difficult for me) and paid for the 6 baskets we picked out. All in all, if you're looking for flowers for your containers, beds, baskets, etc., and want to save a few bucks (who doesn't), Lidl is worth a look. I understand they sell groceries as well. I was very The pointed that Best market left and lidl moved in. But I have to say a am very happy with this super market chain. The bakery is very reasonable, and they always have something on sale in the bakery department. Their croissants are crispy and delicious. There cheese are priced fairly. Love the plant they have this spring. Where can you buy eggs for 59 cents. Great bargains. Give it a try. read more

The coolest part of Lidl is when you find a product that's actually good (as opposed to most of the garbage they sell) and then you can't find it next time you go because either 1) they no longer sell it or 2) they've rearranged the layout of the store AGAIN and you can't find it. Dear Lidl, you have done it again! Another successful store opening, the 10th store on Long Island! This will be my third Lidl review, but the excitement remains fresh. First off, Lidl ( pronunced 'Lee-del') sells more than just groceries. They have a section for home goods/ kitchenware/ clothing/school supplies. The sales week starts on Wednesdays, so come early if you see something that is highly interesting. For me, that item was a 4.2 quart cast iron oven oval cookware. This is usually an available 'while supplies last" type of deal. I had previously purchased a very small cast iron oven from them as well and it works great! Every circular features specific weekend deals to attract customers. And if you think nobody else was eyeing that 'while supplies last' item you thought was trivial... well guess again. Customers browse every aisle, especially the home goods section. So if you see something you want, make sure to go early in the sales cycle. I can't emphasize it enough! (Y There is an entire section devoted to organic items. Ranging from organic pasta, organic salsa, to organic ketchup, they have it right there. The best part is, you don't have to pay outrageous prices for organic versions. For example, I switched from the generic to organic ketchup. The Lidl brand organic ketchup is so affordable and nowhere on the list of ingredients is the dreaded high fructose corn syrup. Looking for bread to make pudding, or need a loaf for a family sandwich day? Today I noticed they have a reduced price bread bin. Look closely where the bread wall ends and the bakery begins.. you shall find it there snug towards the bottom corner. A hidden secret in plain sight. The breads were going to sell by the end of today but they were still soft, not hard or stale to touch at all. What I love buying from here are the fresh produce. Bananas for 44¢/lb? A 3lb. bag of cara cara oranges for just $2.49? Mangoes for 49 cents a piece? Wow! No matter which day I visit, I see workers constantly replenishing stock in both produce and shelves. The store itself is very clean. They have a restroom located in front by the flowers. There are sanitizer sprays and tissues for cart cleaning, and automatic dispensers for your hands. There is a nice welcome screen that lets you view the occupancy count of the store. The parking lot they has slanted parking spaces but no directional arrows painted to alert drivers of the proper direction of traffic flow. During high occupancy hours this may cause some confusion. Overall, Lidl carries a majority of its own brand, Preferred Selection. They do not stock a wide range of typical US brands. If you only buy big known brands, this may not be your favorite or main grocery store and just one to supplement your main food hauls. Here they do carry Dave's killer organic bread, but you may not find an extensive selection of the Arnold, Sara Lee or Pepperidge Farms bread. Their baking section only carries Lidl brand chocolate morsels or Nestle Tollhouse brand ones. I have tried the Lidl brand ones and am perfectly fine with them. I also visit Lidl for their great jam section. I use it in my shortbread cookies and have found their made in Germany Preferred Selection strawberry jam to be exquisite. I heard their lavender infused honey is good but I have yet to find it (may be just a seasonal item). This location feels smaller than that of Plainview or East Meadow. At this particular location some of the product placement can be counter intuitive due to how the store is arranged. Some of the aisles are shorter than others and it may seem difficult to locate some items. The staff is friendly and can direct you to whatever you are looking for. There are only 5 registers, none are self checkout. Please make sure to download their My Lidl app. It keeps track of how much you spend. Once you reach a certain threshold you earn rewards. For instance on previous shopping trip I spent above $40 which unlocked the reward for 25% off sweets and chocolates. I was able to apply that to my purchase today. The app lets you keep track of rewards you have earned and coupons that are available. If you are not ready to redeem a reward, simply uncheck the 'apply to purchase' box. Please be aware the rewards do have an expiration date. The My Lidl app is also where you may view the weekly circular, create grocery lists, view recipes, and browse products. Currently if you make a purchase a coupon prints out for $10 off your next $30 minimum purchase, valid only during a future time frame indicated. The store has only been open about a month so the promotion may end in the future. Until then, maximize your savings! I think Lidl can work its charm on you too. After all, there is a reason why it is a successful international German supermarket! Oh yeah and in case you were curious.. I did snag the blue 4.2qt cast iron cookware. Boo yah! I really want to like this place with there great prices. Unfortunately they missed the mark with expired food and horrible customer service. The lady at the cashier is rude and seems as tho she hates her job while requesting another cashier over the radio. I get that it's covid and you are short staff but there is a professional way to go about it. Any how this is my rant. Hopefully they straighten up because this supermarket with these prices would be great for the area. read more

Lidl in Massapequa is a four-mile trek for me, and today was my second visit. If I go again, I will ask where the customer service desk is. Name a category of food, and the selection here will be more narrow, so, if you shop at Lidl, you'll end up going to two supermarkets. The prices on the shelves are much larger for the eyes than in the big chains like Stop and Shop, where tiny print hides on the lowest shelf. Many items are attractively priced: a dozen eggs for 52 cents! Dry cereal and cookie prices are considerably below S&S. It appears that you need a smart phone to get rebates. The check-out lanes are speedy because there are two flows at which customers must do their own packing. The store is exceptionally clean. read more

There are Lidl all through Long Island this one has got to be the worst . Customer service is none don't ask for help because you won't get it who ever is manager should be ashamed terrible.
