The first time I visited Lidl I was not impressed with the selection however I did find a few deals so I decided to give it a second chance. The bottled water is really good and cheap so I go every few weeks to stock up and every now and again I find a brand that I love for a great price so I have to say... Lidl has grown on me! I also like their brand name frozen food selection. The hash browns and frozen chicken are good! All in all Lidl isn't my weekly shop but once a month I like to go and see what treasures I can find! read more

All I have to say is that this store in Farmingdale has the rudest employees that don't want to help you could care less about you terrible!!!!!! I'm writing about a small incident that happened today 13 August around 6 PM. I went in there looking for ice and I see that they didn't. I couldn't find any so I went up to one of the register guys along the last name by the bathroom. so I asked him if they had ice and it's over there rude and I said well there's nothing there that we don't have any. I said do you happen to have me in the back we might but I'm busy right now so I said, could you call somebody and he didn't he just plain didn't answer me so I left the store I left the stuff that I had the rest of my basket and I left the store. It'll be a long time before I ever go in there and this isn't the first time that I've had rudeness in the store, but this was just like laying out blank my last straw with them. Oh, and by the way, this this store is one of the dirtiest stores i've been in the floors are never clean. Nobody ever straighten up anything around the Produce OK it's just it's overall the stores rundown so whoever the manager is here they should open their eyes to what they have and they don't have. read more

Nice store, fully stocked. In and out with no lines. Fresh produce and all the meat's you could want. Clean aisles, Thankfully the heat works here too. Prices are what you'd expect for ease of shopping at a smaller grocery store. read more

I was eager to try Lidl when it bought the previous space held by Best. Lidl has good prices with some items, however it is not a store that carries everything (like Stop and Shop/Shop rite). So if you are going there for a specific product or ingredient, you will have to go elsewhere. This Lidl also decided to sell eggs to kids on Halloween which ended up leading to the houses near Lidl being egged. I was very upset by this and spoke to the store manager who said the parents of the kids decided to buy the eggs - which is nonsense. There were also 10 egg cartons and dozens of eggs scattered next to the parking lot which Lidl would not clean up until corporate was called 2x. There is also a huge rat problem in the back of Lidl with poison black boxes surrounding the building. read more

Let's just say the jury is out. Lidl Is Different. It's a Completely different layout from most supermarkets. It's very clean, aisles are spaced just fine. I Think I can get used to Lidl for quick groceries like I wanted this evening. Not all your common brands. But I did leave with what I set out for. I don't dislike Lidl, I just don't know how much I like it. I think it will take a few visits to get accustomed to. And I think next visit, I'll be much more likely to upgrade to 4 star than downgrade. So for now it's a 3 star OK. The 1 star by a previous Yelper seems awful harsh. Lidl is worth a visit to decide for yourself. read more

Great prices for the quality you get. Not the traditional grocery, their bakery is phenomenal

cashier and manager are liars. They charged me twice for $18.56 steak and wont refund me. They said I bought 2 steaks same weight and price one rung up beginning and one at end. But sale items go to top of receipt , they lie and say it goes in order. I notified corporate of their incompetence and lies, Indian cashier and Chinese manager. I cant give you names because they dont wear a name tag like other supermarkets. Also they dont have a Customer service desk like normal supermarkets. read more

This store is always dingy looking! Most of the people working there have ZERO communication skills! I've bought several expired products from there...yes, I was rushing and forgot to check.... Great place to save $ milk eggs cheese etc & they have a selection of lidl products that are much cheaper than other brands with a good return policy that comes with it. I missed these deals while I was away & hope they open some in Florida ! read more

I don't know if it's just me but this store is the worst, workers are so rude. Selves are never stacked. Bread is always outdated. Come on Farmingdale can do better then this. read more

Weird store. Weird layout. Looks like they get random merchandise delivered. Nice cheese selections though you can get that from many places these days. I'd never go back though. Cashier was so fn rude. Her husband was in there shopping and was not paying any attention to her register Whilst I stood there waiting. Said not a word to me. No total at end. Just rudely said is there a problem?? I said what did you say to me?! She said your card. I shoulda just walked out. If she still working there I'd be shocked. Not having great luck with grocery stores lately. Here's a summary. I bought a bunch of bananas. Weird brand name but I thought I'd try them. Completely yellow. No brown. No bruising. However when I opened one, it was rotten, brown and mushy. Happened with all five. Had to throw them all out. Then I opened the deli chicken breast. It was prepared the day before. But... it was slimy and stinky. Nope not eating that. Next I bought a bunch of fresh cherries. It's summer. Cherry season. But these were not ripe at all. Hard and tasteless. I bought their store made soft pretzels. They didn't taste like pretzels and were soggy - like soggy bread. I understand they don't carry traditional name brands, and most products are their own brand, but this is unacceptable. What a waste of my money. Never going again. read more

I purchased groceries and a gift card at the North Massapequa / Farmingdale location . Somehow the gift card never made it into my hands. I realized it as soon as I got home. I also never received the small receipt that shows that the card was activated. After waiting on hold for the toll free number (because you cannot directly call a store) , I spoke to a representative that spoke to the store and she advised me that they couldn't find the card at the register and that there was nothing else they can do for me. The following morning , I went to the store as soon as it opened and asked for a manager - he looked around and after pulling out filthy drawers at the register told me he didn't see it and that he too couldn't do anything for me - so I was out the $100 that I spent less than 24 hours before in the store. The manager was not helpful at all , didn't even offer to take my number in case it was found or to speak to the employee from the night before ... he didn't apologize or make an attempt to rectify the situation. I found the employees , including management rude. I will never shop at that store again and I have told friends in the neighborhood that will not shop there again either. read more

This store needs a lot of improvement. Some isles seems dirty and messy usually produce and meat isles which I won't buy from. The bakery is pretty good. They don't have any hand held baskets when I went in the last few times if they ever do. The worst is never enough registers open and some of the employees that ring you up don't even say hi or thank you. read more

I just went today 4/28/2021. It reminded me of a 99cent store. The aisles were too small. They sell clothes, etc. in boxes. Not my cup of tea. I was hoping to like it; however, most of the major brands I like they don't carry. They carry their brand which is processed in the Netherlands. I guess I'll have to drive to Stop and Shop or just go to Fairway on North Broadway. read more

Lidl sent a flyer advertising a two-day sale (7/10-7/11) on mangos, 39c each. When I checked the produce section of the Farmingdale, Long Island store at Northwest Drive at 3:00 on 7/11, only 3 mangos remained, and all were past their sale date. I asked a produce employee if the store had more, and he said no. I asked the store manage if they had more, and when he said no, I asked for a rain check. He said that Lidl does not give rainchecks, but "a truck was coming in soon." I asked when; he replied, "later." The problem: 1. I cannot call the store to find out when the truck is arriving because Lidl stores do not have phone numbers: all calls are shunted to the general line - which is closed on weekends. 2. This means that I have to return to the store multiple times to try to be there when the truck arrives. This does not strike me as good business nor a good life choice on my part. I consider Lidl's actions in this matter to be a classic case of "bait and switch." Thus, I request that they institute a rain check policy. It would also be nice if they had a phone number to the store, as is common practice. read more

why did you get rid of the hand carts? i went in one day to see the hand carts gone. never been so confused. looked around the whole store for 10 minutes felt like I was stealing only to find the hand carts were gone. at this point I felt like I need to buy something just on principal so I didn't feel like I was stealing but all I was looking for was the hand carts. it's been 3 months since i went back and i finally caved and went back. still no hand carts. heart is broken as a cary all i can fit in 1 hand because i don't need a full cart, im not that much of an adult. please bring back hand carts read more

I've been to 2 lydl Stores so far, one in Morton Village Plainview and this one In Farmingdale. Both stores replaced Best Market, how I miss them. Well here is my review for both stores. Both times I went in with a full list and bought 3 bottles of seltzer and 2 packages of blueberries and a light Cool Whip. I will never waste my time again. There is hardly any produce to buy. I must admit the bakery department looks pretty decent but there is no employee to watch the slobs that do not use tongs or protection on their hands when they take the items from the bakery. Including their kids who used their unprotected hands and parents did nothing!!! I immediately dumped all the rolls and cookies back where I took them and went to a store employee who did not even care or understand what I was talking about. They could not find the store manager!!! Both stores were dirty and looked very unkempt. Sorry not for me. read more
