If I were completely honest I would rate this Stop & Shop as 3.5 Stars as there are certai tradeoffs with Stop & Shop compared to other places. It's fairly expansive with a wide selection and variety of items and large aisles. It's also reasonably priced. But I would say it is is not as diverse as say Whole Foods in terms of choice but more so then say Tashkent. But the butcher and bakery are not as good as Tashkent. The drawback with such a huge space is that it can be difficult to find staff to locate items. read more

This is my nearest grocery store. I do not come very often because it is a long bus ride away. The store has parking and it's near the B49. The store has a section in the front for returning bottles. The store was bright and well-organized. It is stocked and has a lot of open checkout lines, but it can get long to wait. The customer service line is always long because the customer service reps are hiding in the back office. Which is annoying. The prices are on par with other supermarkets. Large store with mostly nice cashiers who remember you. They don't stock the meat, turkey hot dogs or someone's cat food and some of the customers are rude and have bad vibes. Also there are Gypsy's in the parking lot who do instacart they take up all the spots and use it like a smoking lounge & garbage alley way. Very busy, large location. Kept pretty clean, with wide aisles and packed shelves. Lots of employees roaming around. Nicely merchandised. Parking can be a mess, so I park on the roof, which is easy. Problem is checking out. Although there were 6 cashiers and self checkouts, the front of the store can be a crowded mess, with no one directing traffic. Which there really needs to be. Do a lot of Instacart at this store and spend at least $100.00 each time. Everytime I order Junior's Cheesecake, I am charged $17.99, but when I receive the cake the store sticker is marked $14.99. All management there should hang their heads in shame. I once read an article that profiled with ceo of S&S and he said the S&S prices are higher than a lot of other supermarkets, but he likes the customer who can spend that extra quarter. This sign has been hanging on the men's room for over 6 months. And note, it it is in English only. What about Spanish? Russian? Chinese? How pathetic that this store can't fix a lock to a lavatory. A simple latch lock costing under $ 10.00 could easily be put up in less than 15 minutes. Any who really reads the sign posted on a bathroom door. My nephew told me four people opened the door while he was emptying his bladder and when he barked at them, it was obvious they became embarrassed but he said three of them said to him, 'why don't you lock the door'. I'm going to give this store 3 more weeks from this posting to fix that door locking problem and if it is not fixed in 3 weeks, I am going to file a complaint with the Department of Health. read more

I come here a lot and I prefer it to places closer to my home. FDA recommends that dogs not be allowed in food stores. Managers saw this, even answered the customer's question and didn't blink; they continued with their conversation of who was deserving of a promotion and how someone else messed up by not picking the right person. Had three home deliveries that were great. Tonight NAH. TERRRIBLE. Was the Instacart driver doing Door Dash on the side? or stopping to smoke marijuana? I pay for the delivery, it's taxed and I'm high jacked into giving a tip. TIP stands for To Insure Promptness. This was not PROMPT. waiting since 7pm, no one has contacted me to let me know they're be late. No text, no nothing I except some phony email saying they're one stop away at 8:30pm Only because I called haranguing them. If that was the case driver would have been here by 9:00pm the store is not all that far away. Stop and Shop blames Instacart. who do they have doing the delivery? Unprofessional . I've been filling prescriptions for over a year - paying out of pocket for one Rx b/c the price is cheaper than my insurance copay. My latest cash Rx was denied b/c I needed prior approval for this drug that I don't use insurance for! AND I ran out of meds b/c stop & shop never notified me that the Rx had been canceled. The terrible, rude, customer service on self checkout lanes, coupled with the new check out registers themselves that are far far too sensitive, have compelled me to stop shopping here despite the convenience of its location. Also, weirdly, has had a couple of vans/ campers parked on the street outside forever that people clearly live in. Bizarre. Store's format changed a bit due to Covid-19, with a really long one liner to pay. Aside from the long wait I usually catch pretty good deals at this particular location. Circular deals changed on a Friday so by Thursday afternoon basically the ice cream aisle is out of stock. Yes, I come here mainly for ice cream and my Porterhouse steak. There's a rooftop parking which makes it even more convenient without spending time looking for spots. The times I've been in the store I haven't really experienced any rude staff, so all in all its a more tranquil grocery shopping experience. read more

Stop and shop's customer service is really very bad. Especially front register employees and floor employees, Those are lazy very lazy. Last time I visited and ask them to look for the item, but they hold me to wait more than 10mins came back with excuses and they said other employees brought the key,that's why I can't find the key can't open the cabinet. The key holder is front of the register,and the item was runout they hold me to wait more than 10min then "we don't have no more" that a very rediculous. Open late (huge plus). Usually has everything in stock except beverages .. which is odd. Water is typically in short supply here. Parking lot is big enough to fit a handful of matchbox cars. Location is ideal - close to the highway, train station and bus stops. read more

The revamped rewards program is a great new addition to the loyalty key chain card, but what's the deal with the reduced hours of all Stop & Shop supermarkets in the area? I thought this was deemed necessary due to the worker shortage caused by the Omicron virus earlier in the year. Is this change permanent even though the cases have diminished significantly since February and are no longer a serious concern? I noticed that they have moved the bakery clearance items from the actual bakery to the clearance area by the public restrooms. There are a couple supermarkets that I like to go for my weekly grocery shopping and one is Stop & Shop. I have been shopping there for awhile to finally understand and appreciate their hard work to meet customers high demands. They have employees who work nonstop trying to stock up the shelves but sometimes it is so hard to meet the demands because of the location. They also have frequent "Happy free-day" products for cardholders. These incentives are great way to motivate me to try products that are either new or never thought I would want to try but now I am giving a chance to. I love the "try before you buy" idea that they are doing with these incentives. What also stands out is their New Arrival products section which is basically new products that have arrived for purchase (I am not sure when it started but it definitely caught my attention). I am always in the look out for new products to try, ie. Chip Ahoy brownie and soft chunky (these may not be new but it was new selections on their shelves and I had to buy them. The best part was they were on sale, lol). I am hoping that they will continue with their "Happy free-day" and continue to expand their New Arrival selections/sections. Three words to describe my experience. GO TO KEYFOOD or SHOPRITE anywhere but here. The place is a madhouse. I ordered from the store itself for pickup. Not only were they still picking my order which was supposed to be ready between 4 & 5pm when we showed up at 5 to pick it up but their replacements were not what I would call equivalent. They were also "out of stock" on some very basic items. Go elsewhere, their prices aren't that great. First of all the circular that they put on the Internet is different than the circular in the store . Needless to say the online prices are cheaper than the in-store prices . Every Saint Patrick's Day season they advertise corned beef and they don't have it in stock . Prices are rather High for a supermarket unless you catch a sale . This is one of my favorite supermarkets in the area. They always have great sales and there produce is always very fresh. The supermarket itself is usually pretty organized and clean. They also have a great rewards program that actually offers rewards on something I can use which is gas. Discounted gas is always a great deal. I love their natures promise organic line as well. The downside is the parking area is always full of crazy drivers that act like there isnt ample parking in the lot with additional roof top parking. I have witnessed THE craziest fights over parking spots at this store. But I still prefer shopping here over pathmark any day. read more

the worst supermarket ever.. they close their customer service on Sunday around 5:00 p.m. They would not allow you to return the product.

Tried to use The O.T.C. card from the phone app. The cashier Vicki, was extremely nasty. The store manager was just as nasty & unprofessional. We wanted to use the card at checkout & was told we do not accept the card. It was not that your store didn't accept it more the mannerism on how it was stated. The cashier Vicki was short & stormed off her register to apprehend the front manager. She actually stormed off her register & left it unattended. *the front end manager who is a Black woman & tall, was extremely helpful & professional*...but there was a black woman at the courtesy desk... actually said, the card could be stolen. Really? When now adays, cards are on one's phones. Vicki not only stormed off her register, but made it an issue.
