I was invited her for my cousin's birthday dinner. I was skeptical considering the reviews, but figured I'd keep my order super simple to avoid disappointment. * * SNEAKY DRAGON - Super duper sweet, even for me...and I have a major sweet tooth. Even the melted ice didn't help. BACON MOZZARELLA CHICKEN SANDWICH w/CAESAR SALAD (instead of French fries... look at me, being all healthy and what-not!) - The sandwich was just OK. The salad was good, just waaaay too much dressing (I forgot to ask for dressing on the side.) Would order again. OLD BAY WINGS - My cousin shared a couple of wings. Very lightly seasoned, but good. Would order again. We were part of a large party and were seated in a private area away from the other diners in the restaurant. The service was friendly and given with a smile. Thankfully everyone enjoyed their orders. Apparently, the chocolate lava cake was a hit. (It looked good, but I didn't try any...) __ I eat. @f.hux I thrift. @DCthriftish

Very SMALL $42 crab cake sandwich with small serving of coleslaw. Very good, but extremely overpriced.

I feel really badly about making this review because I use to love this place and ate here often when I lived in Maryland. However, I was disgusted with the fact that they charged me $42 for a very small crab cake sandwich with a little tiny serving of coleslaw. The crab cake taste good, but it was REALLY small and definitely NOT worth $42!

Snow Crab Legs
Haley I.

Came here while visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday and I was in search of crab legs. The place is in a busy strip mall and the decor is dark and outdated, but the bar area seemed to be filled with regulars having a good time and it was a large place with ample seating. We were seated quickly and the service was great. To start off, We had a mixed drink that was very tasty (the sneaky dragon) and the fried rockfish bites which we enjoyed. The seafood platter was delicious! Hot and fresh. The crab ball was so good, loved the shrimp, too. But the Old Bay fries were amazinggggg I could have eaten a million of them. The only thing on the platter that we didn't like as much was the fried scallop. The breading fell off because it was wet and it was very chewy/rubbery. The snow crab was amazing and I finally got my steamed crab leg fix on this trip!

Oyster

Three appetizers, two drinks, two beers, two pieces of Keylime pie and the check was $160. Where do you think you are? Tysons Corner or Loudoun County? You are in the wrong area to be charging that much for the portions size. Now I see why the place is empty on oyster day.

I made a reservation for my mother's birthday. It was a large party and both the food and service were great. I would highly recommend.

My son loves it here. It's a great family experience. We go to get fresh crabs. A bit pricey but really good fresh food!

Ocean Paradise Restaurant & Bar - Shrimp platter with mixed veggies and rice

Ocean Paradise is a must-visit, we are fortunate it's next to our neighborhood. Ocean Paradise…read moreabsolutely lives up to its name. A special shoutout to our server, Sandra, she was fantastic. We started with the bang bang shrimp--perfectly crispy with a delicious sweet heat that wasn't overpowering. Easily one of the best appetizers we've had. For my entrée, I had the twin lobster tails they were tender, buttery, and flawless. The seasonal vegetables were fresh and perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the Connecticut lobster roll, which was loaded with generous chunks of lobster, lightly dressed, and served on a perfectly toasted roll with crispy fries. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious.

Ocean Paradise came to our attention when Yelp sent an email with restaurant suggestions. After…read morelooking over their menu, we decided to give it a try. It's in a newish shopping center, which, for us, had a bonus-- there is a Harris Teeter there. We needed to pick up some items, so we did before having dinner. We were here for an early dinner. Now that it's getting darker so early, we try to avoid driving after dark, when possible. Thus, we were here around 3 p.m. and were glad to see they were serving dinner at that time. To drink, I chose a mocktail called "What a lychee" which consists of "lychee, pineapple juice, club soda". It was garnished with a lychee. I did enjoy this drink. My husband had a non-alcoholic Stella Artois. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. Having looked at the menu before arriving, we each knew what we wanted. I chose to try the "Blackened Pan Seared Yellow Fin Tuna" which (supposedly) consists of: "Topped with jumbo lump crab meat, sundried tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, creamy lemon sauce served with rice." My husband chose the "Shrimp platter," which (supposedly) consists of: "crispy beer battered shrimp, coleslaw and chipotle sauce served with hand cut French fries." It took a while for our food to come out. As I was eating, it dawned on me that there was no crab meat or sundried tomatoes. Also, the sauce sure was a creamy lemon sauce. It was more like a miso-flavored sauce. Hard to say if the menu got changed, but no new menus were printed up to fix it. Or was it that the young man who cooked the food wasn't familiar with the entrees? Still, despite the discrepancies, I did like this dish, although it would have been even better if they had prepared it correctly. My husband noticed that there was no Chipotle sauce on his dish. Instead, there were two small containers: one with ketchup and another with tartar sauce. He, too, thought that his shrimp was well prepared, although the breading didn't cling to the shrimp. This experience left us with mixed feelings. On the one hand, we appreciated the friendly, attentive service. Yet, on the other hand, we wonder whether it's worth going again, given the possibility of not getting all the ingredients for one's entree. We liked the ambiance, which evoked images of the beach. They have some nice paintings on one wall depicting the seashore, a lighthouse, and beach houses.
