With my last house, I went with a cheap company, and many of my blinds on doors detached partially due to use. My first call to get an estimate was actually to RMC, and though I made subsequent calls to other companies, I felt compelled to hire RMC to handle my house due to Robert's friendliness and expertise. I went with a combination of both blinds and shutters, and Robert quoted a fair price that I accepted. He even made key recommendations, such as the treatment on our backdoor, to ensure it stayed attached properly for the life of the home. On the install date, Robert and his crew arrived promptly on time and handled the job professionally and smoothly. There was actually an issue with the parts company improperly measuring one of the shutters, and Robert quickly promised to be out the next week to install the remeasured shutter. Also, he volunteered to come back yet another time to install longer blinds cords, as there were a few windows where the supplier provided too little string to easily reach the cords. After wrangling the supplier on my behalf for over a month, he delivered as promised. The entire time, Robert was extremely reachable via email or text, and I never felt like I was getting scammed or mistreated. He offered for me to reach out at any time if there's any more questions or issues, but after examining all the quality installation on each window, I have little doubt that these will stand the test of time. I would highly recommend RMC

The blinds arrived quickly and Joon texted to set an install appointment. The install of 11 blinds took about 30-45 minutes. Joon and Bob worked carefully to instal and ensure that the blinds worked properly. So happy with the finished look. I look forward to not having to dust shutters or blinds. They look great both from inside and outside the house. Although we have new wood blinds on the second floor, I have decided to go with this product and can not wait for this second order to arrive. I called Katy Plantations Handcrafted Shutters because they are local and they even manufacture the shutters right here in the Katy area. I love to support local business and it was even better they also manufacture them in our town. When we called to request a quote Melanie was more than accommodating with our work schedules! I received quotes from a few other companies and was disappointed I had to take off work to accommodate their weekday schedules (with no evening options). However I wanted to be sure I was making the right choice, after all this is a big investment. Melanie arrived on time as planned and explained every detail and all the different options we could choose from (i.e. type of material, frame style, size of louvers, and many more). Given her expertise she was able to consult us in decisions about which shutters made sense for our living habits and sizes of our windows. I was especially impressed that we had the choice for solid hardwood shutters l as I found most other companies only had the vinyl. Not that I am against vinyl, as there are pros and cons with either one. Most other companies do not give you a choice and the solid wood option does not include the entire shutter construction, or only includes the louvers, etc. We ended up going with the 4" clearview hardwood shutters. We absolutely love them!! I had them make double panels for my front and side windows, which gives it a more traditional look, however for the back windows we went with just one panel so we would not have any obstruction of our pool and backyard. Throughout this process Melanie was always available to answer our questions and she was always so friendly. Thank you Melanie!! Once we made our decisions and were ready, Melanie came to our house to measure, again working around our schedules. She spent a considerable amount of time measuring and explaining the process and provided an estimate for when they would be ready to install. The shutters were ready sooner than expected. They called me to schedule the install, again working around our schedules. The install crew (one person in our case) arrived on time... love the punctuality. He was very clean and professional. During the installation, each shutter was double and triple checked. It is obvious these guys are very meticulous and proud of their work. They cleaned up every scrap leaving absolutely no mess behind. A big plus! In summary; It isn't often that you come across such an extraordinary company, but when you do it's a wonderful experience. Our shutters were installed a few months back and are garbage. Our previous shutters were amazing…read morein our other home. They opened and closed with ease, actually kept the light out. When they were installed, they seemed really sticky and didn't move well and when I asked the installer and also called, I was told that was normal and they would start to give and move better. Fast forward, a few months and they are still sticky and the whole room is often bright. I had called a place here in San Antonio who advised me that they were done incorrectly but we can't afford to have them redone. I went back and forth about posting this because we have used yelp forever and I can't remember writing a bad review.
