I had a couple drinks here with a few friends to start a Friday night. It was my first visit to this S-Group place. Yea, the brew selection is pretty good -- both domestics and imports. I had a CAP Great White Hype IPA from the tap -- that's a Swedish brewery. I enjoyed it -- not too fruity, and hoppy enough. Then a bottled Stadin Panimo American Lager. But seriously, the prices. 9.50 EUR for half liter IPA draft? OK it's an import so maybe. But 9 EUR for a domestic bottle I can get off the shelf at any Finnish grocery store (4.5% ABV)? Huh? Ridiculous. Judging from the other reviews and advertised lunch specials, I gotta come back here for lunch sometime for a burger -- maybe the place will make a better impression on me.

This was a quite good burger. I'm a bit spoiled with great burgers, but this was good. Served on a stone plate with knife and fork, and they asked if I wanted it medium or well, and it was a perfect medium. However, as with so many other nice burger places its too much focus on the meat and less on the dressing and type of cucumber - none. This place is made for hangouts, with board games and couches (or tables), perfect for an evening with friends. To fit into this focus the price of beer has to be lower. 7€ for a normal beer is too much for hangouts. The place is big, and nice. The staff was not as good on recommending stuff, they went strictly on the menu. I'm not interested in the menu, I just said I want THE burger. With cheese, without bacon, please. "But which burger? this one might be good for you?" and the waiter pointed at something in the menu. When I want THE burger, its probably not on the menu.. ;) Still, it is good burgers. I like good burgers. As Arnold would have said, "I'll be back!"

First let me say that Nico was AMAZING! I could not have felt more welcome to dine here. The next welcome surprise brought a Makee Brewing Imperial Stout and that got my attention. Not a common contender especially in Europe but it was delicious. Congratulations on the wonderful food and beverage options. Reindeer burger with whiskey onions...what!?!? Dirty fries just smothered in goodness. The chef, Abdullah, knows how to cook! The French fries rival Atelier in Antwerp! And their music selection is fantastic. Get your Shazam ready. You will want to keep those songs you're late I g to while dining in this incredible place. Go all in and visit this lovely establishment. You won't be disappointed.

This place is alright. It feels like more of a tourist place because of it's location. The burger was good, but not even close to some of the best ones i've had though. The real issue I had with the place was the service!!! Holy. cow. It was bad. They said we had to wait over an hour to get our food! Since it was late (and It would take us longer to find a new place) we decided to just sit there paying for their overpriced beer and wine. Another reason I was somewhat annoyed was that I was treated like crap the second we walked in the door! When we first came in I asked the person behind the bar if they spoke english. She said "yes" so then I asked if we should "wait to be seated and get menu's" or if we should "just seat ourselves" and then she just turned around and ignored me. I just stood there staring at her back with my mouth hanging open until another person came over to help. lastly, one other issue I had was the temperature. It was absolutely freezing upstairs! I had to put on my big puffy coat inside because they had a "door man" that insisted on keeping both doors open for long periods of time in freezing weather. Not cool (pun intended!) So, in other words... if your a hungry tourist who's feet hurt and are starving... plan to go somewhere else. Otherwise, you'll get trapped into waiting an hour and a half for food, get crappy service and then rack up your bill on overpriced alcohol. If you do really want to try this place out... I suggest having patience, come before your starving and then going to the downstairs part.

Mmm the Reindeer burger was delicious !

Stopped in here for a beer and lunch. Nice place with many local beers on tap. Food menu has a wide variety of options from healthy to @you will pay for it later" ;). I had the Reindeer burger with a side green salad - both were very nicely presented and delicious - I high recommend the Reindeer burger ! Great friendly service from the two girls who were working my table

Reindeer happens to be a popular delicacy, so I treated myself to the reindeer burger, prepared medium rare.

Surprisingly good food in this hidden location in Helsinki. We were visiting Helsinki during…read moreMidsummer, and so many restaurants were closed. I was advised that Bryggeri Brewhouse might be open so got a reservation. When we arrived, I was told that the reservation represented seating inside with table service, but it was a beautiful evening so we opted to merely order from the fast casual counter and have the food delivered to us at a patio table. Our food was really good. I started with a serving of the salmon soup which had been recommended as a Helsinki specialty by our guide that day. I have nothing to compare this soup to, but it was outstanding. Great flavor, perfectly prepared salmon. The starter serving was more than enough for an entire meal, so I shared with the rest of our table. For our main courses, my wife had the sloppy joe sliders and I had the wild elk meatballs with mashed potatoes. The meatballs were wonderful, perfectly done, good flavor and matched well with the potatoes in the gravy provided. My wife found the sloppy joes to also be very tasty with a bit more kick than such an offering in the United States. The buns they were on were perfect and the entire serving very large. One other dish to comment on that was ordered at our table was the Chicken Burger. Do not get thrown off by the name burger and expect a ground chicken patty. This is a full-size chicken breast perfectly fried and with excellent condiments and sauces. So, food, 5 stars. When it came to the beer, there are only a few of the offerings available at the patio stand, so I was not happy with choices given this was a brewhouse. I learned later, after my first bland lager that I could just go to the main bar inside and get the full offering. So my second beer was excellent, the Sofia. This entire experience would have been a 5 except for a couple of faults. One was that food took a long time to arrive and came sporadically, and second is that the full complement of beers should be offered outside or the bartender there should inform patrons that they are limited, but 20 steps away they can order from the full list. If looking for a nice casual night out in Helsinki, I can highly recommend this restaurant.

You order at the counter then find a seat which can't be simpler. All the in house beer info is also easily found on the wall and the menu is simple; mostly based on their also homemade sausages. Not wanting a full meal, I went with the Poutine which has all the things I love - sausage, fries, cheese curds, and a light and slightly tart gravy. All yum, and all gone from the plate within minutes. I would think all the other menu items are equally worthy but if you just want a great beer, this place will do it too.

In the space of a previous garlic restaurant they have opened up a restaurant where they serve up simple dishes from nice ingredients. The menu is refreshingly short, all in all around 10 dishes out of which 5-6 are mains and then there are a few snack dishes and some dessert. The food I had has been very good, uncomplicated but with flavors that really fit together well. In addition to serving good food they also brew their own beer on site as well as serve other good craft beer. The beer is very nice and a lot of interesting types of beer can be sampled (served in either small (0.2l) or regular (0.4l)). Nice and friendly service adds to the appeal of this place. Orders are places at the bar so can at times be a bit busy but not really an issue. The place is also nicely designed in a mix of rustic wood and white tiles behind the bar. The improvement would be to try to reduce the noise level in the bigger room as it got rather loud (and the tables are big so people sit fairly far from each other resulting in louder and louder conversations).
