Ed runs the shop solo and has been in business for 30 or so years, if I'm remembering correctly. He's very friendly and was expert in helping me pick out decent looking frames and mats for what I had, and advising on the sizing of the prints. I suspect you probably pay a little more than at a chain place, but I don't have much basis for comparison. A great old fashioned small business -- he even trusted me leave with the framed prints and come back the next day with a check. Definitely recommended.

Great Lab! Great folks! Used them for years when I had a studio. Always top quality printing.read more

Recently, I decided the time was right to purchase my first digital SLR camera. In Montgomery, you…read morecan find a decent selection of DSLRs at Best Buy, a surprisingly good selection at Costco, and even a handful at Wal-Mart and Target. It was therefore with great surprise that I walked into Capitol Filmworks, Montgomery's largest dedicated camera store, and discovered that they were completely out of stock on every camera. They offer plenty of photo frames and will be glad to help you print the pictures you've already taken, but the DSLR section is a blank wall. It's possible, perhaps even likely, that Capitol Filmworks will soon replenish their stock, and would-be DSLR owners will find options here. Personally I think I'll always be a little troubled knowing that Capitol Filmworks is the only store in town where you can't buy a camera.

Big Shout-Out to a Great Store with an Awesome Staff !!!…read more I'm from Illinois and travel for work. One of my hobbies are searching for and buying art or vintage photos and then reframing to keep, gift to friends or family, or sell. I've been to many Hobby Lobby stores throughout the US and this one here in Prattville is exceptional!!! I've been there about 10x in the last 6 months and it's always a great experience. A clean & well organized store, very friendly and professional employees! Today I went to do an exchange on a frame that didn't look as good as I thought it would for a 1951 Photo of boxing legend Rocky Marciano that I'm gifting to my nephew. Madisyn, who was working in the frame department understood what I was looking for, helped me select the perfect frame and put the photo into the new frame to be sure I was happy with it! She then helped me with the exchange at the register (I had lost my receipt) and between Madisyn, the cashier and the Manager who had to approve the process I was in & out in less than 25 minutes with the awesome photo nicely framed and ready for me to pack and ship to Chicago for my nephew. Thanks Madisyn and Prattville Hobby Lobby for being awesome !!! Joe

The only knowledgeable person is the woman selling the sewing machines. If you need any help or assistance with anything else, good luck. You're pretty much own your own. I can't, for the life of me, understand why this store hires people with no knowledge of the products they sell. Furthermore, every time I asked for assistance from one of their employees, I was given looks, along with exaggerated sighs, as if I was imposing on their time. The store was unkempt and there were trash bins sitting in the middle of the aisles between fabrics. I will NEVER shop at this store again. From now on, Hobby Lobby has my business!

This Michaels store located in Montgomery in East Chase the customer service from a front-end…read morecashier was terrible. The young that looked so slouchy looking when I first walked in the store was nice nasty rude. I'm assuming it was close to her time to get off 4pm she was ready to go, and you could tell all over face. I didn't even want to ask for help from her I ended up asking a more friendly face on the floor she walked over with me and helped me find what I was looking for she was nice. When I ended up checking out, I was having trouble with the self-check-out and using my app coupons .I looked around for a while before the cashier who was checking out other customer attempted to answer my question, but really didn't it was okay because she was taking care of other customers. I noticed she had that nasty rude cashier in her line I said to her sorry to bother you I know that you're probably off but are you able to answer a question for me she looked at me like lady don't ask me nothing then turned and rolled her eyes the cashier laugh I just went ahead and push the button for needing assistance clearly this place need to speak with their workers about they attitudes and how to treat customers because the one that came to help at self-check-out she wasn't any better her attitude showed on her face nasty and short rude as well . Get it together Michaels make some changes please for the customers.
