Let's start with: Beyond. worse. experience. ever…read more It started with a phone call from my beloved brother and sister in law saying there was something wrong with her wedding dress that she had just picked up from Lei and her custom team that she had previously bought at The White Dress. Keep in mind this dress was ABSOLUTELY beautiful on my sister in law, that is before Lei and her team worked with it. In a heart beat I drove to see my sister in law and helped her with her dress. As she put the dress on, ladies and gentlemen, it was thee worst and most disappointing fit a seamstress could ever do. The seams on the back were buckled, the sheer was cut incorrectly, the lace on her chest region was cut, and the dress was so heavy on her shoulders that you couldn't even see the straps. My poor sister in law was left in tears when it's supposed to be her dream dress. The dress was just the beginning my friends. The customer service was horrendous. I immediately called Lei that evening to speak with her and told her what happened. And this woman had the audacity to tell me it was like that before she touched the dress. Are you serious? I had pictures before she "fixed" the dress and she sent me pictures to my cell phone saying there was nothing wrong with it afterwards. She was arguing with me about her job and how there was nothing she could do to fix it and how there were NO openings for her before her wedding date which was a week away. Pushing forward, I immediately called the White Dress about this and they were incredible with accommodating and recommending us to a new seamstress that fit us in that next morning. Weddings are supposed to be amazing and Lei and her team almost ruined my sister in law's greatest day. Zero stars if I could, beyond disappointed.

I'm a guy at a wedding dress alteration place. I'm thinking about two things: is the dress gonna…read morelook good and am I gonna break the bank for this (am I right, fellas?). This place blew me away on my two simple concerns but also exhibited quality, customer convenience, and honesty. Custom Fit has all of that in bunches. The quality and expertise that Lei's shop has is staggering. They go to bridal expos, get some of the best material, and are encyclopedic with their knowledge of the industry. With all the bridezillas of the world running around, I was surprised at the customer service and the lengths they went to get our dream dress done just right. The expectations were very clearly communicated from start to finish. Fast forward to the wedding, my bride is breathtaking. It might have been a little hard to see the dress because I may have been theoretically crying because there were theoretical tears in my eyes, but I thought the dress looked perfect. TL/DNR, not a great outcome…read more Walmart and I, well we have history. In the very far past I shopped there when there were limited shopping choices ( Lake Havasu, Yuma, and Eugene when I was super dang poor). Since I moved to Portland and observed their shady business practices I have chosen to shop elsewhere and frankly not missed it. I think in the 20 years I have lived here we went once to the store on 82nd. Recently I have tried several online ( because Covid plus big illness means limiting my exposure to the masses) shopping experiences with varying results. Fred Meyer's software is a hot mess. The same can be said for New Season's which kept emptying my stinkin' cart. Whole Foods is just damn expensive. Safeway cancelled my order and didn't tell me until I showed up. QFC is okay for pickup but lacks some items and is also a little spendy. Amazon has been swamped and delivery can be days out at times. So I painfully swallowed my disdain and political correctness and ordered online pickup with Walmart. The Cornell store is the closest to me so I chose that one only to see at the end I was picking up from the Shaleen store. Ok. Yay. I don't like that they make you notify them in the app when you are leaving and track you on GPS. Feels intrusive. Also now I cannot get the app to stop its stupid notifications and am greeted by a new one pretty much every time I pick up my phone. I cannot figure out how to turn them off nor could my tech savvy teen. I am gonna ditch the app. Anyway. They had a decent selection of choices. Only did two substitutions. They had ditalini pasta ( I put it in soup often) which is hard to find sometimes. We got four boxes and they did not limit us like Amazon did. We arrived at the store during our pickup window. The employees were masked and gloved, and the groceries were soon being loaded into the back of my Matrix. But loose. Not in bags. No bags?! I am pretty sure I checked the" I will pay for bags " box in the grocery order. I could see loose yogurt, bananas, etc. being put in our hatchback and was going to say something but my anxious teen who has had hard jobs working with terrible customers stopped me, " Mom don't" so we went home listening to rattles and clanking ( so annoying) and loaded the stuff into our own bags in our driveway. I think I can say that was a one off experiment. I am actually not that upset about it. I will admit I didn't want to like Walmart. I will figure out an alternate plan. Walmart is DEFINITELY cheaper. So points for that. That is how they kill the competition, right? I didn't buy any of their branded stuff. They were out of 1% organic milk which is our jam. And some things were not awesome. The avocados labelled large were teeeeeeny and not great. All in all an experiment that was not 100% successful. If you try it double or triple check the whole bag thing.

Once in a great while I will order online for a grocery order pick up. This is super convenient the…read moredays I'm super busy and don't have time to shop for odds and ends. I needed some game day snacks and some things that inky Walmart carries. They make the ordering and pick up process super easy and convenient.
