I went to On the spot to get an anniversary gift engraved for my husband. As the engraver (owner) was working on my item, I had a good look around and was amazed by what I saw. Not only jewelry, They engrave glass picture frames, glass vases, make wooden plaques--the works! So many cool things and cool ideas for a later time. The owner was very pleasant and has been engraving since 1960. He did an excellent job! I know where to go to get anything engraved and was happy I made the right choice to go to On the spot. I didn't give one star because they were able to do an urn for me that day (due to my time constraints), the only positive. But they couldn't do the engraving on the part I wanted to have it on so that was disappointing. When I did receive the urn back, the engraving looked burned and you can see the burn spots. I ordered a platinum rose from Amazon for my 20th anniversary. I wanted it engraved. I checked about 5 places locally here in Beaverton. Couldn't find one. One place locally was almost hostile about my asking, interesting. So, some how I stumbled onto On the Spot. After a few phone calls and some emails I decided on going up to the store in Washington. I was on a bit of a time crunch as I wanted to get it done before my anniversary. Don, the owner knew this. So, prayerfully, I left on a Friday afternoon concerned about I-5 traffic. Surprisingly traffic wasn't too bad there or back. Via email, Don said he could do it same day. I was thrilled as I didn't want to have to go back up again. I arrived and showed Don the rose. He had a few suggestions as to where to put the engravings. I liked his suggestions. Finished product looks great! I think my wife will like it too. I love that as a walk-in Don got it done in about 30-45 minutes. I'm very happy. They ruined my item and then still had me pay for it. I stopped by at 9am this morning and dropped off a wine bottle opener I purchased for my in-laws to go along with a larger gift for their 50th anniversary. One side was already engraved with the name of a personally meaningful place. I asked if On The Spot Engraving could engrave "Happy 50th Anniversary!" and have it ready by the end of the day. They said they could, requesting I give them as much time as possible. I came at 4:50 and a blonde woman told me, "it was the wrong kind of metal." She showed me my item. It had the first H engraved and then crudely scratched out and then my words were engraved after the scratching out. (Pictures visible on my google review). I would not have minded a single scratch but the original H was still clearly visible and looked awful. I can't gift this item in this condition so I had them throw it away. I was particularly upset that at no point in the day did ANYONE call and tell me that they had damaged my item. WORSE YET, they still checked me out at full price so I HAD TO MY PAY FOR MY DAMAGED ITEM. I let the blonde know I was extremely upset and would be leaving a negative review. On The Spot Engraving sounds like it should mean what it says. I spent a few hours digging for a place I could get my ID bracelets engraved same day and walk out with them. This is NOT the case here. I simply walked in and was not greeted kindly I walked in and was looked at like a burden when after a full minute of three people staring at me someone finally took the initiative to help me. When I explained what I wanted they took the order and told me it wouldn't be ready for 4 days. The only reason I give it three stars is because my bracelets turned out good. read more

Communication was okay. I did have to follow up a few times. Picked up the awards. Went home and looked at all of them and realized there were problems with 3 out of the 8 I purchased. 2 of the awards had a random line engraved in them and the other one wasn't a complete engraving of the logo. I immediately emailed and didn't hear anything. Emailed again 4 days later, still didn't hear anything. (We had been previously communicating via email). Called, and was told they could fix the problem, but it would take a week to get the order in. So my emails are answered reasonably promptly when I'm placing an order, but as soon as there's a problem, suddenly my emails disappear. Go to Trophy Pros, you'll be happier! read more

Went here to get some trophies for work. The owner/main guy was very patient and searched around his shop for probably an annoyingly long time to find all the trophies that might be appropriate for this very specific achievement/award. He then had a cool idea that I hadn't even considered, and I appreciated that he cared enough to throw around ideas with me when he just as easily could have just sold me some boring dumb trophies and moved on with his life. I walked in this morning - (the open sign was turned BEFORE their posted hours) with a very odd request. Don, the owner, was there with the most amazing greeter: goldendoodle, Scrap. Don listened to my request, didn't bat an eye at the level of difficulty and even offered a suggestion to make it better. He said he would have it done in 2 hours - and he DID! I haven't ever gotten a fast turn around time like that when looking for engraving. It is absolutely perfect and Don's idea made it one million times better. I will take all of my engraving to this shop. Salt of the earth folks that are't bogged down by social media advertising or hype. Exactly what I wanted and more! I had a watch engraved and it turned out great. Turn time was short and price was more than reasonable.

Brought in a firearm to get engraved. Simple enough, a friends name on one side and a logo on the other. Showed exactly how i wanted it and watched them pull up the logo on the computer and write out how i wanted the name to be. They tell us to ckme back in about an hour so we do. We return and they turned the logo about 45 degrees clockwise for some reason and they put the name out of order, so instead of it reading First Name - Nickname - Last Name....it read First Name - Last Name - Nickname. The name i was unhappy about, but whatever, and when I asked why the logo was sideways, the response i got was "Well I guess it depends how you hold the gun". A pretty snide comment considering they just ruined a perfectly good firearm. Bottom line is: if youre going to change a permanent design on something as precious as a persons firearm, you should probably call to ask the customer. That way you get it right, and don't permanently deface their property. I do not recommened this place to anyone to engrave something on personal items, maybe cheap bowling league trophies, but nothing that you would csre about if it was destroyed. read more

I was promised to pick up on Staurday, got there and it wasn't ready, and the gentlemen that does engravings had taken the day off. So, it appeared that my item wasn't going to be ready. However, the other gentleman working said he might be able to do it, due to his lack of confidence I told him not to worry about it. A few hours later I got a phone call saying it was ready. The inconfident gentleman decided to try it anyways. The engraving did turn out pretty good. However the customer service was lacking in several areas. At the last minute I had an idea for Valentines day. I decided I would find a padlock and have our initials engraved and take my girlfriend over to Portland to the east bank esplanade to put our lock with the other lovers locks. I took my lock into this shop and told the guy what I wanted and got nothing but confidence that he could do whatever I needed. Not only did he do a great job but could hold stimulating conversation while he was doing it. While he was working on that I had an idea for a gag trophy for "procrastinator of he year" for a buddy of mine. I didn't want to spend allot of money and just wanted something basic. The young gal working as his assistant had a trophy made up and engraved before he even finished with the lock, it was hilariously perfect (she got a tip). Great job! I went in with a Zippo lighter as a gift with just a rough idea of what I wanted. When I got the finished product I was blown away at how great it looked! They were able to put an entire Scripture verse on the lighter (I was just going to have it abbreviated), as well as the exact picture/logo I was hoping for - all faster than I expected and for a great price.
