Sometimes, Internet, you're just too much of everything and not enough of that one specific thing you need. I needed a pretty specific sort of award for a work event, and totally thought I could take on this task using my mad online shopping skillz. I had one in hand and just needed to order another.... How hard could it be? Here's what I learned: I don't know anything about trophy lingo -- what is the base thing called? Is it just a base? What if it's made of like half steel and half marble? Is it called something else? What's the difference between glass and crystal? What the hell is jade? After a couple of days of earnest searching, and with a deadline quick approaching, I gave up and called for Yelp. YELP! What's a trusted trophy shop not too far from my work? Crown Trophy. Excellent. I shot them a message with a photo of the award I needed, and they responded quickly with an example of what they had that fit the bill, along with pricing and timelines. Voila. Exactly what I needed. Expert humans for the win. They should get, like, an award or something. I'm sure they've never heard that one before. read more

My organization has been a repeat customer of Crown Trophy for about five years now, and we easily do $1,000 per order at a time. I've typically had very consistent and reliable service with them but my most recent interaction with one of their employees left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Apparently, Crown Trophy has changed their process so that you now have to pay for your order prior to even receiving a proof, which is fine and understandable, but what I didn't appreciate was the feeling of being treated like I was going to steal their products and not pay them and there was also no attempt at working on my timeline. The employee was not super friendly via email, and told me I would not get an initial proof until the beginning of April and to email back if I hadn't heard from them April 10 (so I would need to give them a month PLUS ten more days to send me a simple proof?). She did not check with me on what my timeline was (the plaques would need to be shipped to Wisconsin for a conference in the latter of April) and then when I called her directly and asked that the plaques be picked up on April 1, she essentially demanded to know if I would come pick them up then. Perhaps Crown Trophy has had a bad experience with some customers (the employee told me in an email that they've had some "bad apples" in the past) and now need to be more careful with new orders but as a repeat customer, I felt like I was being treated with disdain and suspicion. Crown Trophy has always done good work for me and their prices are very reasonable but I have to say that this customer experience is definitely below what I've come to expect from them. read more

We are hosting a tournament for 300+ players and had Crown Trophy supplying our awards as they always do a flawless job! Unfortunately they're closed on the weekends and the person appointed to get the trophies never picked them up. I got ahold of the owners and their representative Maria gladly went to the store when they were closed to allow us to get our trophies. Saved the entire tournament from a really awkward award ceremony with no awards. Thank you for all that you do and the dedication you have to your customers and such a prompt response! I was recently in need of a small, commemorative engraved brass (-esque) plate in honor of a dear friend that had recently passed away. Without getting into the details, it was installed in his favorite place, a place that held many memories and friends for him. I miss him every time I see it. Ahem. So, I called around to a few trophy shops thinking that would probably be the best place to get something like this done. I stopped in to Crown Trophy, selected what I wanted, and was out the door in 5 minutes. When I came in a few days later to pick it up, there was a misspelling in the engraving. My handwriting - though I was careful to print - maybe wasn't as clear as I had intended, and an "n" was read and engraved as an "r." I meekly asked if they'd mind re-doing it....though I knew it was just a few minutes before closing. No problem, they whisked the plate away to the back room, re-did the engraving, done and done. No extra charge. How much did this set me back? I was prepared to pay whatever I needed to; he was a dear friend after all, and this little remembrance was absolutely imperative. Um, less than $10. Their bread and butter, from looking around the small but tidy and well-stocked showroom, is in fact trophies (as their name would imply, or rather explicitly state.) Should you be in need of awards for a child's sports team, or a business achievement, go here. Great service, very reasonable prices. read more

Overall, I had a good experience. I ordered a few things and they said it took two weeks to get in. I waited over two weeks and hadn't heard anything. I called them and they lady told me "we don't call people when their things arrive". That's very poor customer service. I'd like to give more stars as everything else went well but just can't because of this. read more

We dropped the ball in getting a retirement gift for a coworker ahead of time, and since we had worked with Crown trophy in the past and always had great results we called and asked if they could do a "rush job". I spoke with Brett Lange and he could not have been more responsive and helpful. They didn't do the best replicating my trophy. I came back in 3 weeks and their version of my trophy was 1ft and a half taller than the original, I asked if it was possible to cut the plastic columns shorter but it would cost extra and take another week. That's unfair since I paid for it to be exact size as mine! I took the trophy home to my shed and cut the plastic columns with my chop saw and it now looks exactly like my original. I also had to order online the gold cup and 2016 numbers for it because they didn't have any of that in store but they do on their website. The gold cup and plastic numbers was total 10$. If you want your trophy replaced just order it all online, you'll save a lot of money. You can buy all the parts and assemble the whole thing in 20 mins. read more

Ordered an award trophy for my employees and they were great. My order was done super quick with reasonable price

I was looking to engrave a handful of swords as gifts for an upcoming function. I had called around and came across Crown Trophy. I called them up and described what I needed: 40" swords, stainless steel, engraving, multiple swords... they couldn't estimate from that and said I needed to come in. So I came in and the front desk lady took one sword to the back to be seen by the Engraver. The sword was shortly brought back to me with the lady shaking her head. "I'm sorry we can't do this, it's too long. The machine maxes out at 36 inches" I mentioned that over the phone I stated the size of the item 40"... perhaps someone could have saved me the trip. This company specializes in engraving stuff... but yet they don't know the operational range of their own machinery. Frustrating and a waste of time for me. read more
