Fantastic Experience. My 13 year old Asus computer, running windows 8.1 had to be replaced. I chose the basic system that Stone offers for my new build and had them do the data transfer as well. Their price was not out of line with the local Big Box Stores and all of the old files I wanted saved were transferred perfectly, same Icon's on the screen as before, and it's very fast and quiet. Miles and his team are personable, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I am an Electrical Engineer, server manager, Oracle database developer, I write my own software and used to build my own computers, but my eye's are getting too bad to see fine details. So, after buying all the parts for my top end PC, I took them to Miles and team to put it together. It was as quoted, and on time, but due to Covid, parts were hard to get. Later, when I finally was able to buy the video card and CPU that I had wanted, but could not get for a reasonable price. So, I took them back to Miles and team to Install. Again, on time and as quoted. But, now I had a problem playing my mmo game and a few connection issues caused by transporting it home. Miles fixed the transportation issues free of charge. I really feel that I owed them more money than they quoted. A rare thing if you ask me. My previous Computer repair place, to which I will never go back to, ruined my previous build causing me to make this new high end gaming PC. It is an complex build consisting of an open air design chassis, 18 RGB fans, a top AMD GPU, and a CPU just short of AMD's Threadripper series, 1200W PSU, 64GB RAM, Audio sound display, 48.8" monitor with RGB strips. Prices at Stone Computer will booger your billfold up some Sons. They charge a pretty penny in here. They get the work done with your computer need, ram added, ssd card added, gpu added. I've sat down to write out this review many times, but then I always put it off. Why? Because every time I sit down at my new PC from Stone Computers I just can't wait to boot up my games and enjoy the awesomeness that is setting the graphics to ultra. The guys at Stone Computers are friendly, helpful, and just pure awesome. I had a specific budget I needed to stay in, but I also wanted to be able to play everything on ultra high without any hiccups. (I know, I can be one of THOSE customers) But the very few employees, were able to help me get a PC that I am very pleased with. I did have one issue with it (not a service issue or defect or anything, just me being a difficult customer again) but they were quick to assist and got it back to me the next day! I also had a friend bring in a laptop that they had had for a number of years. It'd been overheating and running very slowly, but it was a decent laptop that still had some life in it, so she figured Stone Computers could help her out. They did an amazing job and had a quick turn-around and now happley uses the old laptop as it is significantly beefier. Through my entire experience with Stone Computers. I couldn't shake the feeling that they were sincerely interested in what was best for their customers and how they could meet their customers' needs. Last year, Feb 2020, Miles from Stone Computer, setup a specialized, elaborate, multi pc configuration in my home at a very fair price. Haven't had a bit of trouble with it since. In April 2021, I had to call him on another unrelated problem with Microsoft/Outlook password changes. He was able to assist me with the specialized procedures needed to make things happen for two users of the same account. The power button on our mini computer was broken. Miles looked for at least 30 minutes to try and find the computer part or a button that would work. When the part ended up not being available, he spent another 15-20 minutes finding a solution. Miles was able rig a power button for us with parts from the store and we walked out with a fixed computer. Stone Computer will always be our stop for computer parts and computer fixes in Fort Wayne. I have always been weary on buying parts online due to issues with hardware being dead etc or product being damaged in shipping. When I was ready to build a PC after 8 years of being out of the market I did a lot of research on the new hardware out today. I was over whelmed with everything new, but I did manage to learn before I made my purchases. I stumbled into stone computers after grocery shopping to see what they had. I was quite surprised to see everything from USB hubs to Intel i7 6700k's. I had a long look around the store, forgetting absolutely everything I had retained from researching hardware. The employees asked me if I needed help and I just asked question after question making sure the parts I was looking at were right for what I needed.(gaming of course). The 2 employees didn't get frustrated with me asking 1000 questions nor did they try to up sell me or make me feel obligated to buy anything. They were honestly just happy to help me out with information. I was on a budget and they helped me 110% to pick what was best for me in my price range. I ended up with an AMD A8 7600, 8Gb of RAM and a gigabyte micro atx motherboard. When I finally made my decision after about an hour of questions and thinking the employee installed my APU and the ram and posted it to make sure the hardware worked. I was in shock with the care and quality they provide to make sure they know I'm getting a 100% working product. The employees at stone computers gave me a good impression of a local friendly computer store that I know I can go to for anything and they will be more than happy to help. I just went in again last night to buy a new case and the same two employees helped me every step of the way to make sure I was getting a quality product. I needed help with my small business which was growing. I needed to link three locations computer stations. I went into Stone Computer and asked for help. I was advised to buy three wireless routers to link the locations and was told by the technician that it was pretty easy to figure out, but that if we had trouble they would be available at $100 an hour. When the routers came in we took them to our office and started to try and figure it out. It was far more complicated than advertised. We called Stone Computer to ask for help and we were told the technician we talked to couldn't help, but he would have someone call us right back. The next week we called again and we were told that we would need someone to come out and help us. I agreed to this but was told they would have to call to set that up as the technician that did such work wasn't available. Another week passed and I called Stone Computer back and was told how sorry they were that the calls were not returned and they would have a manager call me and set up the service for me. NO CALL!!! We have over $300 of routers that are of little help to us. We are now searching for another reliable company to help us. If you want help, if you want service, if you expect responsible service, DON'T GO TO STONE COMPUTER!!! read more
