I ended up coming to this location to window shop and it was nice seeing all of the new technology before the holiday season. There was tons of workers asking if you needed any help. They did seem to have a lot of open box items that were somewhat discounted however, some of the quality of the items that were open box do not look brand new. At least they're being honest about what's been opened and not just repackaging things for customers to be surprised with when they go home. The main reason for three stars is that in this economy they price is at Best Buy usually are more expensive than online. Totally frustrated with Best Buy's unavailable and inexperienced staff. Tried on 2 separate occasions to get help finding the proper components needed for a CD player. First trip resulted in selling me speakers that clearly would not work with my unit. Second trip to return the speakers and get help resulted in searching the store over to even find an available associate. Once I found a someone, he wasn't even sure what a CD player was; and proceeded to fumble around trying to figure out what I might need. I finally just left after it was clear that he had no clue. They really do need to hire some folks that are well versed in electronics that span more than a decade. And that, folks, will be my last trip to "Worst Buy" for my electronic needs. read more

I drove 80 miles to this Best Buy to get a TV. Had a great staff member, Noah, help us select the model best suited to our needs. After driving home, we discovered there were no accessories (remote, power cord, etc) in the box. Called customer service and I was told to "speak to the manager about a discount." Returned to the store the next day. i spoke with the General Mansger about a possible discount because of the missing parts having traveled now 160 miles total. No, there would be no discount because "we're not responsible for what the manufacturer sends us." I intentionally chose Best Buy because I wanted to speak to a real person about differences in smart televisions. I was so glad to have a well-prepared staff member help with the decision. But also disappointed that Best Buy does not stand behind their sales when they send you home with missing parts. They didn't have a replacement in stock. General Manager's solution was to pay "an extra $80 to go home with a better model." Why would I do that? That night I ordered the same model from Amazon and received it the following day. All parts included. Best Buy has a potential advantage over Amazon: human assistance. That advantage is lost at the customer service desk. read more

I take back what I said about this store on a Google Review board being the best expience I've ever had with electronics locally in Fort Wayne Indiana.The reason being is that I made two major purchases with my hard earned money and I had the worst customer service I've ever had with a huge electronics dealer. I made an online purchase on the MyBestBuy app and scheduled a pick up for that day which I have a local stor at the NorthCrest Shopping Center here in Fort Wayne so it's convenient for me to live near the biggest Best Buy we have. Anyway they told me while I was in the store that it would of been ready within the hour I was there to pick up yet I shopped around and buought another major buy while waiting for the order to be processed as promised and then to be told that I would get it in 4 hours by an store rep named Zoey who tried to take care of me. So I left for 4 hours then came back to be told that it will most definitely be ready tommarow which is today Tuesday December 8th, 2024. I hope things work out because to make matters worse the product I did buy was defective it was an OLED Monitor which wasn't cheap and to have had a burnt in image already in it from the D to USB-C slot. Things are chaotic and I'd like to be treated as if I matter and not lie to me several times within a day. Like I said I made that online purchase for store pick up from morning until dusk Monday December 7th,2024 at around 11:30am and nothing was fulled for that order nor even taken into consideration. I am quite frankly disappointed in this store and may not ever shop here again. The store and it's goods are great but the customer service and treatment are very poor and needs a revamped method to deal with such atrocious customer care and services by this best buy. Stopped in on a somewhat steady afternoon to checkout some gaming PCs. I had an idea of what I wanted but I had some questions about hardware and such. As I was browsing the back wall of towers and laptops they have there, an associate came over an asked if I needed help. I of course said yes and we talked about what I want out of computer and what hardware will be able to get me to do those things, and within what budget. After about 30 minutes of talking, we found a PC that checked all the boxes that was within budget. The associate was very patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. I had no intention of buying in the store but after talking and the associate explaining everything to me, I felt confident to buy then and there. It had to be ordered and shipped to my house, which was no big deal but I was bummed it was gonna be a week out. However, I got an email later that night it was going to be there the next day and was! Thank you Best Buy at Northcrest for my new Gaming PC! I want to start off that I have been a Best Buy customer for decades, starting off when I was in Highschool. I have spent thousands of dollars in their stores for years whether it was purchasing video games, TVs, surround sound systems, computer equipment, cameras, and especially appliances. It was my go to store for major purchases. This is how loyal of a customer I used to be. So when I moved out of my home state and came to live nearby... I needed new appliances for my kitchen and laundry room. I came to this Best Buy expecting to get the same level of service as before. I was dead wrong! So, the buying process went well. I bought a dish washer, refrigerator, cook top, wall oven, washer and dryer for Best Buy during a sale. The problem came in during installation. The first time they shipped the products, they shipped them gas instead of electric... even though I told them it needed to be electric and they themselves had it written that way. So mistake number 1. Best Buy promised that what I bought from them would fit my kitchen and laundry room. They have a service where someone comes and does measurements for you so that when you place the order it fits. Lord! Looks like they can't measure because it didn't... and to make matters worse the technician who came to install the cooktop and wall oven screamed at my mom saying he wasn't going to come anymore to my house because he doesn't get paid if there is no install. Do you know what it is to get called at work and being told some schmuck screamed at your mother?! I don't care if you don't get paid... you guys messed up! When I told the manager what happened... oh I don't know much about your case I have to take the word of my employees. He was actually shocked when I told him how much stuff was part of the sale... how can you have a meeting with a customer and not know the details? What followed was a comedy of errors... and insults. The manager saying they are not responsible if they get the wrong measurements... you guys measured it! It was a nightmare and eventually I bought the cooktop and wall oven from someone else... still it was months of hassles, months of lies. Best Buy lost a customer in me! You would think someone who made such a huge purchase and who has been a loyal customer for so long would be treated better... guess again. This place has the worst customer service ever. I set a reservation with Greek Squad for 12:20 pm and got there at that exact time. I see a sign that said have a seat if you made a reservation and someone will be with you. So, I have a seat and it took 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me and she said she was going to check me in. it took another 10 minutes for her to do that. People that didn't have reservation were coming and leaving as I sat there and waited patiently. A couple who didn't make a reservation until they got there was called before me when my appointment was at 12:20 and they set theirs for 1:40. I don't know if it was because I am black, but the customer service sucked. I just got up and left after a hour of waiting and seeing everybody being serviced but me. read more

Do not change or purchase any cell service from this store. Although they are authorized dealers they are not trained at all on how to use the carriers system. My entire at&t plan was very messed up after going to just purchase a new phone. After straightening it out at an at&t store I found out about half of what I was told at Best Buy wasn't even true but there is no way to go back to my old plan after it was canceled. Also, after ordering a phone and waiting to pick it up I tried contacting the store to see if my phone was there yet and when I could come pick it up as to not waste a trip. After going thru the automated bot for awhile and finally getting transferred to the store I sat on hold for over half hour before I just hung up. read more

A manager here actually said they were not going to sell me anything anymore because they don't make enough money off me! As an electronics guru and business owner I'm in Best Buy all the time and spend upwards of $30k a year there. I like the idea of local brick-and-mortar stores creating jobs in the local community but still like to budget conscious. They often run sales and even price match some online retailers. They also offered a generous 45 day return/exchange/price match policy for elite plus members making it worry free to shop there... or so I thought. It states clearly in their return policy that they have the right to refuse a return for various different reasons but nowhere did I read they actually refuse to sell you things. With a competitive computer store right across the street and several more within a 10 minute drive plus the ever growing online retailers like Amazon, you would think they would cherish they're regular customers and not turn them away. I am very disappointed and ultimately will take my business to another (competitive) local retailer when possible but otherwise I've already signed up for my new Amazon Prime account and am loving it. read more

I bought a product for transferring VHS tapes to my computer. The salesman sold me a program and guaranteed it would work. It didn't. I took it back and the clerk said it wasn't designed to do that, but since it was software, they could only give me a store credit. It wasn't as though I changed my mind and wanted to return it. It was misrepresented to me, and I paid with real money, and I don't think it's reasonable under the circumstances to refund with plastic cash that I can only use at their store. Another Nightmare iPhone Battery Replacement Best Buy is holding my phone hostage!! Options 2m ago I guess I should have read some of the forums here before I trusted Ft. Wayne Best Buy with my Iphone. I paid for a battery replacement and they told me it did not work and they are going to give me another phone. I told them I want my old phone back and they told me that is not possible. So they have my money and my phone and they refuse to release my phone. While I was waiting for the repair to be completed I attempted to load my most current update to another extra phone we have and it failed. My most useable back up is 3 months old. I want my personal property I left with them back and they are refusing. I have to get a good update and then I will throw the POS away and get another phone. Having placed an online order pick up in store, i was emailed telling me my order was ready for pickup. well on arrival they couldn't find two of the three items that i was told were ready for pickup. The guy there then canceled the order for the two items and issued me a gift card for the amount I was charged , he told me to reorder them and have them shipped to me., and pay for it with the gift card. Well almost a month later i have yet to receive my rewards points for this purchase. i was told today that you don't get rewards point if you use a gift card.. WHAT ??? I took my computer in to the Geek Squad because the charger had broken off inside the port. I was immediately told that it could not be fixed and was advised to buy a new computer. I took my computer to A Plus computers and got it fixed for a fraction of the cost of a new computer. Worthless service! They were just trying to get more money out me. Bought a new laptop. Was actually at Office Depot checking out & asked the price of setup/ data migration. Not because I'm not capable but I am here visiting my parents from out of town. I had multiple errands & needed to pick up dinner. Office Depot charges $79 for a set up, data migration $75 & the HP rep in the store pitched me on a bundle including Macafee virus software. Claimed a new virus showing up was not recoverable & HP wouldn't do anything if I encountered the non recoverable virus. Roughly $150 more total. The set & migration cost was absurd to me & I told the tech I thought so. I decided to go next door to Best Buy after the tech talked to me like I was an idiot. Because I asked the cost of the set up doesn't necessarily make me a technology phobic person. Best Buy salesman knew his stuff, fast accurate info. Checked out & another tech talked with me a minute about an extended warranty, no pressure, and profiled me to be knowledgeable enough to not be in need of any other virus malware than the free Windows defender. After checking out, just for grins, I asked Best Buy's charge for set up & migration, $50. Not a steal but fair. I took my laptop home & did it myself. Best Buy has good products & are very fair in price. The exceptional high level service by a product knowledgeable staff is worth the little bit of difference of online savings. In the long run you'll be happier to have the opinion of a tech nerd (positive reference) who sells what you are buying. We can't possibly know all the pros & cons of the vast choice of products, as they will. The unit recommended to me as the most bang for my buck & best performance for what I needed was exactly as represented to me. Super laptop, does way beyond what I expected. Very happy, I highly recommend this store. read more

We came here the day after Christmas at 9:00 am. I thought sure it would be a nightmare. When we pulled into the parking lot, I thought there must be some mistake - there were spots close to the store, no lines, no hoards of shoppers flooding the parking lot. Inside the store, there were hardly any people there! What?? Well, we went to the car stereo department and were immediately waited on - by 2 people. They assisted us in choosing a stereo and we asked if we could make an appointment to have it installed - expecting to have them laugh and say it would be at least a week. The clerk excused himself and came back saying that they could install it RIGHT NOW! I am amazed. We drove the car back, and honest to goodness, it was completely installed in 15 minutes. The Geek Squad is BEYOND incompetent. We took my boyfriends tower in for an upgrade for his video card and ram, this is the beginning of the nightmare. We spent time researching video cards and ram and took all of our findings in to ask which would work best. The fellow that helped us advised us that we would need to buy a bigger power source if we bought so much ram, so we followed his directions exactly to stay within our budget. A few days later we get a call that even though we followed his directions to a T we have to spend another few hundred dollars on a power source after all and more installation. So now we are starting to get the idea that these people don't really know what they are talking about. Whatever we went ahead with whatever they said, unfortunately when we took the computer home after spending almost a grand on installations and fixes, the tower wouldn't turn on. YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME. My boyfriend relies on this tower for his graphic design work and this process has dragged on and the tower doesn't even work, bottom line we took a perfectly good tower in for an upgrade and ended up with a tower that doesn't work. We took it back last night for them to fix it but at this point we are out a $1000 and over a week of my boyfriend not being able to work on it. NEVER AGAIN. read more

As much as I dislike giving out 1-star ratings, I can't honestly give this site better, maybe a 1.5. I've been a customer here for years now, but I think I'm done with them at this point. I've been in multiple times over the last year for repairs and services, and none of them have worked out. I had to get a hard drive replaced and paid to get the data backed up, only to have the new hard drive fail within one month and irretrievable lost the data. I then purchased a new laptop to replace the old one, which they made me pay full price for, only to then have that hard drive fail as well. Since it was within thirty days they replaced it for free, but my troubles still have not ended. I purchased the three-year extended warranty, but within six months I have had to get my laptop fully replaced once, had the Windows os fail completely and have to be replaced, once again losing the data on my computer, and now after that repair the battery will no longer charge just two weeks later, and getting this part replaced is expected to take over two weeks, and their customer service is now giving me the run-around over the phone. Someone who has been a steady customer for them as long as I have deserves better treatment than this. Best Buy has just lost themselves a customer, and I would recommend you steer clear as well, as this place is simply not worth the trouble and headaches that shopping with them will bring you. read more

BEWARE! They can DENY your return even if the product is less than 30 days old and you have the packaging and you even have your RECEIPT!!! Up until last week I used to shop Best Buy in store and online quite a bit. Around last Christmas I ordered an HP laptop off of BestBuy.com but then noticed an almost identical HP laptop with an 8th generation iCore CPU instead of the 7th gen. So, when the product arrived at my house, I took the laptop back to Best Buy. I NEVER EVEN OPENED IT! I stated that I wanted the better newer generation model that was offered at the same price. So I gave them the unopened laptop and bought the newer unopened HP with a better CPU. I took it to the car and then went back to waste some time looking around. The sales guy asked if I wanted any help. I told him that I just bought that HP laptop as I pointed it out and he said, "That's a terrible laptop!" I told him it was literally in my car, UNOPENED. He showed me other more expensive laptops and eventually sold me on a smaller laptop with a smaller hard drive and a $300 more expensive price tag. That's good for Best Buy right? I took it home and tried to use it but all it did for two days was do updates. I ended up liking the laptop and hating Windows 10. So, I went back to Best Buy and paid over $1000 more for a MacBook Pro. Again, Best Buy made more money on me. That was all last year though. Fast forward to a week ago, I received a monitor that I ordered from Best Buy online. The monitor was not available in store so I could not see how good the picture was. It arrived and I hooked it up and it had a terrible picture! But no worries, I still had the box and everything plus I still had my receipt as always and I only used the monitor for 5 minutes so I was well within the return policy. I decided to return the monitor and just buy a more expensive one from the store that had a good picture on it. I went to customer service and gave them my receipt. They told me that they would allow me to return my item "THIS ONE LAST TIME" and they made me sign an agreement saying that even with a receipt, future returns would be DENIED. I told them I was not signing that and they told me if I wanted to return the crappy monitor I HAD to sign it or else they weren't going to let me return the monitor even with the packaging and receipt! I decided since they pulled that stunt on me that I would NOT be buying my replacement monitor from them! No more Best Buy for me! I purchased a 70" Sony 4K TV, a 55" Sony 4K TV, a new A/V Denon receiver from their Magnolia Department, two new subwoofers, a 4K Blu-Ray Player, a XBOX ONE X for my son and a XBOX ONE S for my daughter, along with over 30 games all in one year. And now I'm being denied from returning items with receipts!?!!! Goodbye Best Buy, hello Newegg.com and Amazon.com. Of course I'll still go to Best Buy to select what I want, but I won't be buying it there! The icing on the cake is that 25 years ago I was a Best Buy employee and was named Employee of the Month almost every month because I sold the highest number of product protection plans (extended warranties)! Out of all my returns, they were instructed by the salesman for one, they were still new in the box unopened two, and I only ever returned two items that were open. One was a Lenovo laptop to pay more and upgrade to a MacBook Pro and the other open return was because a monitor had a terrible picture. Goodbye Best Buy! You'll be gone soon anyways. I purchased 5 flat screen tv's and 5 mounting systems to be delivered to a condo in Sarasota Florida. My contractor was there when they arrived. They sent 4 of the 5 tv's and only one mounting bracket. When my wife called they said they would look into it and call back...no call. The next day I spoke with Scott and he told me the same thing...again...no call. In addition, my salesperson told us we would receive an in store credit for 500 dollars for signing up for their credit card. Again , when I received the card instead I received a 10% off coupon for one additional purchase. I spent over six thousand dollars and when I received the card and I still had not received an invoice. I called customer service (horrible phone service/ rep barely spoke English) and got my payoff so I did not receive any additional charges. I paid the bill and was later shorted 1 tv and four mounts. My next calls will be to the BBB and the consumer fraud division of the local police force. Needless to say I will be destroying my new B.B. card and writing them off forever. read more

My Son wanted to put a new car stereo in his car so he would have Bluetooth. Did not really want to go here but he got gift cards for Christmas so we wanted to use them. Bought the stereo then they told us the parts needed for installation. They were so unorganized when we showed up for our appointment for installation. Confusion with the parts needed and to make a long story short the Geek Squad are not properly trained to be Geeks. The kid screwed up my Son's car and broke the speakers. The radio was installed incorrectly and the kid got so frustrated he just said oh well, I cannot do anything to fix it without spending another $150 dollars. What bullshit place this is which reminds me as to why I quit shopping here years ago. We had to take the car to another shop with more qualified installers and have it fixed correctly for $200.
