From our first conversation, Brendan thought of my project as readying someone's home--that's why I…read moreknew immediately that I wanted to work with him, and that's why he did such a fantastic job in repairing, cleaning, and painting the walls and fixtures of a studio apartment. As we planned, Brendan approached each decision thoughtfully, and he explained my options with an eye toward both cost and durability and advised me when I needed it. As he executed the work, he did a great and on time job. As we encountered additional needs, he was always ready to solve problems thoughtfully and flexed to address them. Throughout all of it, Brendan communicated consistently and in detail both on the phone/in person and in writing. I would highly recommend Brendan (and have). Having worked with a number of contractors over the years, for the first time I can say I'm excited to work with one again in the future.

I needed our home deep cleaned before Thanksgiving and requested quotes from several companies. I…read morehadn't used a service since Covid, and noted that prices have gone up dramatically. Most were ridiculously too high for our small home; whereas when I mentioned this to Andre, he asked me to call so we could discuss what I wanted. I did that, and he offered a much more reasonable price for my specific needs. The day of, Lori arrived 30 minutes early, which was not a problem since I work from home. She spoke to me in Spanish, listened to what I wanted and got right to work. She had the standard cleaning supplies but didn't have a vacuum, and we have two bedrooms with carpet that needed vacuuming. This was going to be a problem so I let her use ours (an expensive one that only my husband uses) and she did a great job on the carpets. She worked nonstop from the main floor down to the basement where a 2nd full bath, another bedroom and our family room are. She threw away the flowers on my dining room table without asking, and when I asked her why she said the leaves were dying and they were starting to smell. I hadn't noticed that so I was a bit surprised that she would just do this on her own, but I wasn't angry. Our house is otherwise nice and clean for Thanksgiving. She understood exactly what I wanted done and completed it all in the time allotted (3-1/2 hours). She even asked about a quick clean of my office, which was not expected, and she cleaned off the stairs on her way up from the basement. She had emptied every garbage can she found and also offered to take out the two bags of garbage she had accumulated. I instructed her to leave them on our back porch for my husband. I was happy with her service and happy that I went with this minority owned business. Would use them again.

Alex was hired over a month ago to complete repairs in my apartment. They are still not complete…read more He canceled on me last minute, no-showed, and was generally disorganized. He didn't take measurements, didn't listen to me, and kept blaming my schedule instead of his own capabilities. He was late, things took way longer than he had led me to believe, and he kept pushing me to let him work in my apartment for up to an entire day- without me being present- after I repeatedly told him I was uncomfortable with that. He also took no accountability and never answered a single question with a straightforward answer when I asked why he was 1) late 2) canceling 3) unprepared to do the job he had already provided an estimate for. If you've got the time and patience of a saint, hire him, otherwise good luck.

I had an exceptional experience with John and Kent Kitchens in my recent kitchen remodel. I…read morerecently bought a condo and decided to renovate the kitchen. I looked into cabinet painting, cabinet refinishing and a full kitchen renovation and I'm glad I ultimately decided to go with Kent Kitchens. In addition to being friendly and an all around nice guy, John was extremely thorough and knowledgeable and gave me a very competitive estimate on the spot - don't let the fact he does everything on paper with pencil and not on some fancy tablet app or computer program scare you! From the time work started, through completion, John was very responsive made himself available via phone or text if I needed anything - he never let a call or text go without a response. His contractors that did the demolition and construction were very detailed and did excellent work on the cabinets, countertops, plumbing and tile backsplash. We ran into a delay that had nothing to do with John, however impacted their ability to continue the work but they were able to accommodate the delay and adjust and then jump right back in to finish the work. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend John and Kent Kitchens to anyone looking for a kitchen remodel - quality work, very competitive prices, a high level of service, and a focus on customer satisfaction.
