It worked as a back-up since our original tickets for Rockettes were cancelled and we still wanted to see a show because my mother-in-law was in town. I saw this when I was a kid and my husband and I have been wanting to see it for a while now since we live in the neighborhood but it honestly didn't quite meet my expectations. Perhaps it's my fault because I had forgotten the premise but it felt very noisy to me. The kids in the crowd LOVED it though so I would highly recommend bringing children because their enthusiasm is what kept me going. Unlike other broadway shows, would not see again, but a fine experience if you're looking for a show. The actors are definitely super talented though, just not my personal cup of tea!

Haven't seen the show in years. We decided to take a few out-of-town family members and it was an incredible experience. Glad we were able to get tickets before the show closes down. Energetic, engaging, clever, funny and unique are just a few quick description. I hope it makes its way back to NY after a break. It adds variety compared to other shows and really highlights the eclectic sounds found in NYC.

Interesting concept but NO! Eight actors walk/run around the stage banging things. They aren't untalented, but it gets awfully repetitive! I do not recommend this show at all. If there had been an intermission, we would ave left. But alas it was an hour and a half straight through of noise. The theatre bathrooms are up on the second floor with no elevator, not fun! All in all, not a pleasant time!

Gifted hubby (with his request) to see a Saturday night STOMP show- while still keeping the ball rolling with his Birthday festivities. Hubby had already seen this show and brought my daughter who was 10 at the time, to experience Music in a whole different light. She loved it. He-even more. Our $98 each AA Left side Balcony Front Row seats, were nearly excellent (if it wasn't for that slightly higher metal pipe railing blocking hubby's view). STOMP isn't for the frail: it's super loud at times, then other times, it's more on the mellow side. (I even think Kindergarteners will have such a blast!). Why not? Still keeping with their trademark STOMP style, hubby did notice some new "instruments". From beginning to end though, STOMP performers delivered and got the audience involved in a sort of tempo clapping game. Actually, the Rhythm, Coordination and Dance moves- were so exciting and intense for me, I got chills. But seriously though, this is really thinking outside the box. And Music involved? I was all in it!

Post-show photos with some of the cast. I was GUSHING. So embarrassing haha.

OMG. People. This is one of the best things I have ever seen. I've been wanting to see this show for over 20 years and it was better than I imagined. My very favorite pieces were the ones with only foot, body, and hand beats/claps, maybe added wooden long sticks and/or drumsticks, and some smooth choreography. I nearly cried a few times during those portions. Drums, beats, dance: these are some of the fundamental elements that make us all human. I cannot overemphasize how fantastic this show was and I highly highly recommend it to anyone if you get the chance to see it. Front row if you can because holy hell that was worth it. We were so close to the stage we both made eye contact with the performers; I even got grinned at/winked at by each of the female performers, who were ugh so badass. Bonus: two of the stars of the show went to the lobby and took photos with the audience as we left. I was gushing. I'm gushing now haha and I will stop. Just. Go see it.

The Stomp Off Broadway musical performance was one of the best I have ever seen. The energy and talent of the performers was amazing. They had the audience up and dancing in their seats. The music was great and the choreography was top notch. I would highly recommend this show to anyone looking for a great night out.

This was a great show and very interactive performance between the actors and the audience...great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Be prepared to clap your hands off...and keep to the rhythm... Such a great performance without the use of a band, stage music or recordings. The actors make the beats and keep the rhythm as they perform from one skit to the next...you can't fall asleep as it's soooo interactive. They also have a comic relief...you almost feel bad for him but memorable for sure. The cast is great and would definitely go see it again! Love the stage setup and the décor on the walls all around Thanks to my friend for getting us tickets to see Stomp! We got upgrade from the back to the first couple of rows. If you sit in the 1st row, be prepared to be part of the act... watch the water and dust fly and your purse to be stolen...then returned... Kudos to such a great cast!!! Don't forget to pick up souvenirs and take pics and get autographs with some of the cast after the show!

I've been wanting to see/hear STOMP for years and finally went last night. It was an absolute blast, different from anything I've seen/heard and so much fun. I can see why it's been an institution for 25+ years. The performers dance and percussion talents were phenomenal. There was audience participation which was a lot of fun. A charismatic, entertaining performance.

If you have not seen this amazing show, please put it on your list. This is my third time seeing it. When my kids were seven and nine years old this was my son's birthday surprise. I remember for weeks my kitchen was their stage as they banged on every pot and pan. Now that my children are 21 and 23 I can expose my middle school step team to the rhythmic sounds of Stomp. The first time we saw this amazing cast my students lite up with excitement. After the show they stepped in the lobby and showed the cast their moves. After seeing Stomp my student went back to school and created their own Version of Stomp. Thank you for sharing your talents with generations after generations. On Saturday another group of student were able to see your amazing show. Although, it was my third time I never get tired of it. Until next time..

This show brings back such good memories of my childhood. I first saw this show decades (painful to admit it has been that long) as a kid and loved it. I think I enjoyed it even more as an adult! The beats are amazing. The dancers are energetic and interactive with the crowd. There is humor and liveliness that is enjoyable for all ages. The theater is intimate so all the seats have a good view. Really loved experiencing this again - I definitely missed parts of the humor as a child. Great for all ages. Ticket price is reasonable and away from the craziness of the city. A few of the cast members were also outside to meet and take pictures with folks as we walked out- what a nice touch! Would highly recommend this for larger parties too (there was a birthday party gathering while we were there.)

"I like Stomp. It was creative, noisy, raw and fun! Worth it!", said my daughter Amanda (her 1st review). Me: Thanks Yelp for the opportunity!

A good show to catch away from Broadway. It is as if street dancers along with tap dancers and artists had babies and this is the result lol. The staff I must admit is pretty creative and talented and they must have been doing this together for yrs since they work well together. The theater itself is pretty small but we got decent seating on the first row of the balcony. Some of my favorite moments is when they used the lighters and another is the kitchen sinks part. There are many different you can enjoy. The cast also got the crowd a bit involved and made it funny. I feel it was a bit long, close to two hours. Anyway I had a great time and it was worth the money!

'Stomp' is literally my favorite show - I've always loved percussion, and seeing these awesome performers making awesome beats with matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, and brooms is just ridiculously cool. The show itself has a great sense of humor to it, filled with dance, theatrical performance, and awesome beats. I absolutely love it! I've seen the show in London as well as the one at Orpheum Theater in East Village - totally worth it. The theater itself is small, but intimate, and the seats are steep so you don't have to peer over anyone's head - a huge plus! Be sure to check them out if you have the chance! :D +percussion-focused & high-energy :D

She was always so friendly and flirty with me. Last night I came with my new partner. As soon as we walked in, she was standing nearby and she looked angry seeing us together. The rest of the night, all I could feel were her eyes on me from afar. At one point, she passed by me and secretly caressed my ass. I felt very uncomfortable and asked my partner if we could leave right after. I didn't feel safe asking for a manager to report her as she's already a supervisor security there. This is supposed to be a safe space and I DID NOT FEEL SAFE!!! Apparently from another person there, she gets "around" with girls there and even denied someone entry because they were no longer together. I would think she would be more respectful and keep it professional. I DID NOT CONSENT FOR HER TOUCHING ME LAST NIGHT!!! It's gross to think this is their employer. I will no longer be going back and neither will some of my other friends. It sucks, I really loved that party.

The Moth is a storytellers event that occurs at different places, and the one I went to was at Housing Works Bookstore and Cafe, which was the perfect venue. It started at 7:30 and ended at 9:30, there's no drink minimum, you can bring your own food, and tickets are cheap, but hard to get. It's essentially a show where people who'd previously entered their names get picked to tell stories in under five minutes. Anyone can do it, and anything can be said. There were funny ones, sad ones, dramatic ones, silly ones, overall twelve performances along with a host who introduces each one. They also sell drinks and snacks there, which goes to a great cause. Whether you're looking for something New Yorky, cheap, chill, cute, or thought-provoking, The Moth will satisfy.

Going to a Story Slam hosted by The Moth is actually one of my favorite things to do in the city…read more The story slams happen 4-6 times a month at various locations around Manhattan and Brooklyn (see the website for schedule). Each slam has a different theme. If you feel that you have a worthy 5-min story, you can put your name in the bag, where they draw out names. Ten storytellers go up and these stories are judged by three teams of judges from the audience. The winner of the slam goes on to the Quarterly GrandSLAM Championship. It lasts about 2.5 hrs and costs $8. I've gone to a couple of these at the Housing Works and I'm always really impressed by the quality and talent of most of the storytellers. Many of them take this quite seriously and you can tell that they spent time crafting their story and delivery. The best stories aren't the ones that are merely funny, but they're poignant, send you on an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows, and leave you with a message and something to think about. There's a certain raw honesty and catharsis that comes through and the audience is always supportive, especially so for the new storytellers who stand up there alone and vulnerable. Indeed, if the audience feels the judges are too harsh, the audience lets the judges know. At the Story Slam at Housing Works, the doors open at 7 pm (stories start at 7:30). There are limited seats, so if you're dead set on sitting, stand in line by 5:30. There are plenty places to stand and get a good view as Housing Works' second floor is a mezzanine. Recently I got to the line by 6:30 and easily found a comfortable spot to stand and watch (wear comfortable shoes!). The ticket sales of the Story Slam goes directly to The Moth. Housing Works, which is a wonderful organization that helps people with HIV/AIDS, sells alcohol and snacks, so you're giving to a great cause by drinking.

I was paired with a small group of out of town visitors who brought their family to NYC and wanted them to experience the Accomplice. The parents of the family group were repeat guests like myself who like me absolutely enjoyed their experience several years prior and wanted to share it with their family. It's NYC so even when you participate in the live experience it may seem awkward that an actor is making a scene (literally) on the streets of NYC but nobody bats an eye cause weirdness can feel normal on the streets of Manhattan. Accomplice still has the typical tour around the small area of the city where you interact with amazing actors and make your way to the grand finally where you share a simple drink with your group to celebrate your accomplishment. The staff do offer a hotline to get clues if you are stuck but thankfully my group was witty enough to figure out our way through our adventure. Accomplice is also great for corporate team building activities. I've raved about this experience at my office for years and one of my teams decided to book with the show. This play is about a universal theme of love, sex and relationships. If you are looking for love,…read moreand who isn't, this show will speak to you. For me, everything in this comedic play seemed all too familiar..during the show, I kept on thinking, OMG I think I found bits and pieces of myself in all the women characters...which makes me ask myself, am I crazy?!!!??? I'm okay with that....because MEN ARE A**HOLES. One of the actors when introducing the play in the beginning and after the intermission was making the audience chant..he would say Women are crazy because men are........and the audience, made up of mostly females said......A**HOLES!!!!!!! It felt therapeutic to shout it out loud! I was really getting into it...I looked at my boyfriend and he was making a frowny face. ahahha. I was trying to get him to chant A**HOLES too but he wouldn't bite. He said men are a**holes because they used to be hunters...okay. ahahhahah. That's why I love him! He's my hunter, now go hunt! This play reminds me of the book, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. The play is set at one of the character's home, Nicole is throwing a soiree to celebrate meeting her internet fling for the first time, at this soiree!! Nicole invited her whole entire family to meet this internet fling that she herself never met...WHO DOES THIS??!! Nicole's family consisted of her sister and her BF, her brother and his GF, and her best friend and her BF. There was another couple that were supposed to be at the soiree but never showed up. All these couples are all having dysfunctional relationships, which makes for a funny play. This play takes a look into human nature, human relationships and human behavior. Sometimes the play may seem over the top, overly dramatic and highly passionate to get some laughter from us, but I recognize the characters all to well!! I know people just like the characters on stage in this play. I definitely have seen some of the characteristics even in myself. I felt ashamed at times...but laughed at myself! The comic timing in this show is awesome. My favorite couple is Hillary and George who never even made it to the soiree! I was laughing through the whole show. Even coming back from the intermission was fun! Be forewarned, women are going to be portrayed as psychotic beings, men are going to be portrayed as insensitive liars and we all need each other in unhealthy ways. But at the end it's all for laughs and for fun which this play definitely accomplishes...I would highly recommend this entertaining show for any adult who has been through dating or relationship angsts. This show is definitely Rated R for RAUNCHY! See it if you want to laugh your A** off! Last day of show is June 21, HURRY!
