I had a door slam after the wind unexpected blew it shut and the handle would no longer turn. Attempted to remove the handle and found I could not work with the mechanism inside. I called Scott and asked if he could come out on Saturday. He agreed and came out in the morning. Within minutes he had the problem fixed, changed the lock, and then keyed the new lock so that I still only needed one key for my home. He was very reasonably priced and so helpful. I love this company's location. His business was truly a surprise. I work in property management in California. My grandfather, however, is a resident of Peeples Valley, AZ (for those of you that don't know, it's basically nowhere Arizona). My grandfather called me as I used to do maintenance. I tried to explain to him what he needed to do to get help with his locks at his house. I knew what I was trying to tell him, but somehow I couldn't get it to come out right. So, as an avid Yelper, I hopped on to see who could help. I typed in phoenix as it was the nearest metro I knew. I called a few numbers, but no one could help (I doubt they want to give out free advice or travel that far). Now, to be perfectly honest, I don't remember who I talked to. All I know is I gave him my grandfather's number and situation and that pretty much wrapped it up. My grandfather called in about 20 minutes after I hung up with Stoddart's (here's the best part) My grandfather got the problem fixed. Not only that, he told me they offered to DRIVE OUT TO HIM! I Googled Surprise to Peeples Valley. 2 Hours! Stoddart's offered to drive 2 hours to Peeples Valley to make sure my grandfather had done it right. Here's the deal, I've done this type of work (not as a solitary lock professional), but I couldn't help out my Grandpa. Stoddart's helped him fix his problem no questions asked! Then the offered to drive out there which astonished me. Stoddart's is the type of old fashioned company that gets it done. They really care about anyone and everyone that calls. I called Stoddart's lock and Safe for the first time on Christmas Day 10 years ago. Scott gave me a price range to get into my house. It was a strange situation but multiple locks were locked. My main concern was the top price because I thought that's what the charge would end up being closer to. We purchased a new home and had to have our mailbox lock replaced as well as program some new garage door remotes. Stoddart's provided the remotes for a fee which was fine, it was a busy week and I had no problem having them save me the time of extra work around the house or another trip to the hardware store. During the work I asked our technician if he could change some deadbolts for me, we purchased the parts ourselves and as I was busy unpacking I had no problem again having him save me the time of doing the work for me for a fee. He told me it was going to be $10 a lock, which was fine by me. Our technician was Josh, who was absolutely amazing. He looked over the deadbolts and when we got to a side door in the garage I joked around that there was a 1/4th inch gap between the door and the trim because the weather seal was missing. We purchased two sets of two deadbolts per package from a local hardware store a few weeks prior. So therefore we would have to use two different keys. I showed Josh the parts we purchased, he told me that he could save me some money if he rekeys the current locks by modifying the pins, and thus every deadbolt would have the same key in the house, also, I could then return the locks I purchased. I was actually saving money by having him do the work, about 30%, as I could return the locks I purchased and I would only have 1 key on my keyring, amazing. Josh was very helpful, he also recommended some courses of action to secure the home. He answered all my questions and was polite. I tried to hand him a tip for all the work, but he turned it down and said that he would much rather I write a review for him, outstanding guy. Here's the best part, two days after Josh left, I went to take out the trash using that side door that he was working on. And what do you know, somehow Josh found the missing weather strip and for no charge or even saying anything to me nailed it back on, I cant say how pleased I was with Josh, he was truly an amazing person. I had a great experience dealing with Stoddart's. They answered my call promptly and gave me a quote over the phone. Terry came out to do the job and was the definition of professional. He gave me a heads up call before he came out and was understanding to the fact that I was working from home and it wouldn't be too easy to communicate during the time he was there. He got straight to work and did a great job rekeying all my locks in my home. He even went above and beyond and switched a few knobs to different locations so they matched properly and had my nicer set moved from a door we don't really use over to a door that get a lot of use and is seen more often (without me even asking). He was done in only 30 minutes and waited for me to test the locks before he left. I was provided with 4 keys at no extra charge. Also, to put the cherry on top he even added some additional discounts and charged me less than I was quoted! These guys are great. I couldn't tell u if this company knows how to do their job, and the reason being he never called me back. My key broke off in my ignition in an older vehicle so I called them to see if they could help and when I called I got a voice mail so I left a message. He called me back in a few minutes and I explained my situation to which he said he would need to do some research and will call me back in a few minutes. A couple hours later I hadn't heard back so I called, again got voice mail, and left a message. Never heard from him again. I guess business is so good that one customer just doesn't matter. I decided to have my house rekeyed. After some research, I connected with Scott at Stoddart's Lock & Safe via Yelp. I sent him info regarding my house and promptly received a written estimate, which I thought was reasonable. I called him and we made an appointment for Terry Richards to do the job the following Monday (today) between 11:00 and 2:00 pm. Just before 11:00 I received a call from Terry stating he would be there in 20 minutes. I showed him which locks I wanted changed, he he suggested that the key to the main house be a kind of master key, and a separate set of keys be made for the casita. I thought this was a great idea, as I now have only a single key that works for both houses. The casita key only works for the casita. He went about his job quickly and professionally, keeping me abreast of his progress. I watched him check every key in every lock. Very conscientious. Would recommend this locksmith to anyone. I called Stoddard's on Tuesday evening after my husband's ignition on his 2005 Honda Civic started acting up. Scott answered and told me he'd have to run the situation by his tech, Terry, and would call back. He called me back within 15 minutes with a recommendation for us to try before we actually had someone come out. Unfortunately it didn't work for us, however Terry was able to come out the next day. He called 30 minutes before arrival and was very prompt and professional. He tried multiple different things and spent quite a long time trying to get the ignition fixed, but it was beyond repair, which is no fault of his (Ended up being more a mechanical issue, which is beyond their expertise). Despite the fact that he had cut a new key and repinned the ignition, Terry only charged us for a service call since he wasn't able to get the ignition fixed. While they weren't able to fix the problem, I did appreciate the exceptional customer service and would definitely feel confident in recommending them to anyone needing a good locksmith. read more

I was in need of the re-keying of four doors with double locks. My grandson mistakenly left his entire set of keys with his car during a servicing at a local dealership. The dealership 'lost' the keys (all except the car key). The dealership offered to pay for the re-keying. I immediately looked for local locksmiths and found Stoddart's. Very happy with the service we received. I called Stoddart's with the hopes of having them come out sometime that day. The person that answered the phone was very friendly and told me that he would have someone out to the property within 30 minutes, which I was very impressed with. The tech that arrived (sorry, I don't remember his name) was very friendly and efficient. I've never needed to use a locksmith before, so I can't tell you whether the price was comparable to other companies in the area, but I was pleased with the price.
