This store seems to be run by high school kids or just out of high school with zero training. The employees and managers, I feel have zero education on retail sales /marketing of customer relations and have this cavalier attitude that they are above the clients and are able to make false accusations make up lies and portray their lack of experience and being unknowledgeable about the product and huge lack of experience! Now the clothes are cool and well made but the core managers know absolutely nothing and I would bet they lack in commerce education on Marketing,Retail Sales and my experience and evidence is because they have a 2 star rating on Yelp and a 3 star rating on google reviews and that is a fact of under achieving the goals of running a 5 star successful biz The culture in the company sucks and they need to hear it. I made an error with an on line order. I inadvertently entered the wrong shipping address. When I realized that I made a mistake, I emailed customer service. Stio's customer service department said that the item had shipped, but they bent over backwards to correct a problem that I caused to the point of issuing me a refund. Stio gear is overpriced. Men's sizing is weird. For the price, the quality seems to be lacking - clothes always feel a little cheap and don't hold up for very long. Stio has done a good job of marketing themselves as the local JH brand, but their gear just doesn't cut it. Do yourself a favor and stick with Patagonia. read more

Their clothes do not have a consistent fit. I've ordered 3 pants of the same size and model to go with a pair I already had. I had to return two as the waist was too right on one and the thighs on another. I like the ones that fit though. Why I really do not like Stio and will never order from them again? They do not allow negative reviews on their site. I gave a wind jacket 3 stars for a design flaw that is annoying and not what other companies do and they won't post my review. Bought the men's environ bib and pants as well as some other clothing. Other clothing - pullover, etc, fit fine and was great. The material for bibs a s jacket is very thin and weak. I love Stio. I've bought a bunch of their clothes. I just bought a pair of pants last week. I was so excited to finally get into the flagship store while visiting Jackson Hole from Salt Lake City. I just need to make this comment because it's really a shame to have such a beautiful high-end store here but the two women that were working there this evening basically had personalities of zero. They stood behind the desk the entire time, did not make eye contact with anyone unless we came up to them. Even when I bought a pair of pants, I felt like I was a nuisance invading their private territory. This would have been a 10 star review had they just been even a little bit personable. I was very excited to finally visit the main store of Stio. I usually get their catalogs and buy online and I am always impressed with the high quality of their products. Also I like that they are locally made in Jackson Hole, that is a plus for me. However, as other have commented, the store lacks the wow factor that you encounter when you visit any of the big outdoors clothing famous brands. This review is for the online store. I've been a customer for several years, after a word-of-mouth recommendation. I've ordered from them over a dozen times; I even have two different shirts of theirs in 6 different colors each. But it all went down the tubes during the holiday season. Yes, I know the pandemic has affected virtually everyone. Even my business was affected. But guess what? By May of last year my employer expected me to have it figured out, and expected me to do my job effectively despite the challenges. And I did. I would expect the same of an e-tailer, especially 6-7 months later than that and during the all-important holiday season. But no. So, my issue: I got a discount code before the holidays and used it to buy a couple of shirts. This was on Nov. 30. The order shipped a week later; OK, I expected a delay. But when it arrived a week after that, it was the wrong order. They sent me someone else's. OK, still not a major deal, but we were getting close to the holiday, and there was a one-time discount involved, so I didn't want to just reorder. So, I chased them for over a week, via chat, several phone calls (and messages) and several emails. Not ONE got a reply. I finally did get someone on the phone to explain the situation. But the shirts I ordered were now sold out. And they explained how they were overwhelmed by the pandemic, but seriously, literally EVERY day in December I got a new sales pitch email from Stio urging me to shop with them online. It wasn't like they were cutting back on the selling, just the fulfilling. But I thought this "smallness" could work in my favor; I mean, the person made it sound like there were maybe a dozen people working there. I got the wrong order, but that meant someone eIse did, too. And since it was just before the holiday, they were probably just as anxious to get it resolved. I suggested they get my order back from that person, and get theirs back from me, and just exchange them! They wouldn't even entertain that idea. I got a refund, and a discount towards a future purchase. And I was told my shirts would be back in stock, in early January, and I could repurchase then. Could they send me a notification, I asked? No, you'll just have to keep checking. So I did, and a few days after I was told they'd be back in stock, they did reappear on the website... in 4 new colors. The colors I ordered never came back in. I do a TON of shopping online, and many of my usual spots had extra challenges this past December. Really nice catalog came in the mail. Overpriced but it was Christmas season so I took a chance. Bought a $145 shirt for a gift, for a guy who always, in every brand, is a medium. Shirt material was really nice, but shirt was cut for someone who never needs to move their arms at all. Armholes too small, no room to move in shoulders. He tells me he can't wear it. So I contacted Stio.com to exchange. Nope. None left in large or any size except one more medium. Exchange for something else? Nope. Too far out of the "return window" (3-4 weeks from purchase? Holiday season? COVID shipping times?) No refund, of course. Will never buy anything from Stio that can't be tried on in person. I've bought a lot of clothes from stio over the last year or two and like the quality and style however, if you have an item to return/exchange their service is horrible. The first time I had a new return, I had to call literally 4 times over the course of 3-4 weeks to get a return code ( they kept saying they'd get one out then I'd call and their operator would say the same thing again and never send it) Months later, I had another new return and experienced the same thing. Nice gal on the other end said "we'll get something right out" then they never send anything. Be sure you like what you buy from here because exchanging or returning is rough at best. read more

I love Stio's 50 spf long sleeve sun shirts! My husband and I each bought one online. We spent two days in them kayaking and they totally did their job. We were kept super cool in the fabric and no sunburns under them. Then we visited the store and I bought a second. Only three women's sun shirts left on the rack. My husband LOVED one of the men's sun shirts, but they didn't have any in his size. Only wish there was more stock on hand both online and in the store. I attempted to purchase a jacket from them. I got confirmation of the order and they charged my credit card but the next day, I got an email saying they were out of stock and they were refunding me my money. I called their customer service and they said even though my order went through it wasn't processed in time before they ran out, and the item was discontinued. Their gear is way more expensive than other brands that are time-tested and less expensive. They are a small brand that's not proven, and they have inferior IT for order processing. This is kind of a mixed review. The products made and sold here are great! I think their shirts are some of the best around. They are always wrinkle free functional and look great. The store it's self is somewhat lacking. Customer service was not very good I kind of just wandered around by myself without any help or even egg knowledge meant. I knew that there was a sale from the website however nothing was posted in the store and I even had to remind the employee to ring up my product at the sale price. In looking at my receipt I'm not actually sure that happened! Despite that experience I still Like the product and the items made here. I think next time I will just purchase online! After 5 weeks of waiting for a response from "customer service", they declined to warrant (repair or replace) the product. If you purchase here and have a problem the customer service leaves a bit to be desired...they aren't rude..just inefficient. You will have to stay on top of your return and/or be patient... I own 4 shirts and 2 pair of pants from stio and they are all well fitted and super comfortable...for what it's worth I am 5'9" large shirts for my long torso and broader shoulders and 32 waist on pants I have short legs so most pants are a little long on me...Stio is no exception. Though I have had some customer service issues w. Them, they get it right in the end. So don't give them your last $100 for a shirt you need in a day or two. But I do recommend their product. Love some of their clothing, BUT like others have said, the lack of consistent fit is an issue and is troubling. I have three pairs of Rivet Cords, one in the regular length and one in the long. The waist on the long is 1.5 inches larger than on the other two pairs and the material is not the same! I took a picture with the measuring tape and sent it to them. Best they could do is a discount coupon for my next purchase, which I won't be making. Other outdoor clothing companies will take a return at almost any time for any reason and give you something that works. I have a pair of pants that I will never wear, and they have lost a customer, but I don't think they care that much. It will come back to bite them! read more

My children were recently gifted the Kid's Hometown Down Hooded jacket for Christmas. My daughter who is not that rough on her clothes has found herself with a tear on the outside of the jacket after wearing it less than five times. When I contacted customer service I was told the only recourse was for them to mail me a "sticker" to cover the hole as they could only exchange/refund for a manufacturer's defect. When I pressed that a breakdown after five wears of a children's jacket seemed to be a manufacturing defect, I was told I should have ordered the Rafferty jacket "but that's water under the bridge." I was also told that they were aware of the light fabric, yet, buying the Rafferty was the only way to assure the jacket would stand up. I will not be buying the Rafferty or any other clothing as not only the fabric was knowingly too thin for children's wear, but customer service was horrible and unwilling to stand behind the product to completely rectify the situation. There is no customer service at Stio. I purchased ski pants as a Christmas gift but unfortunately, they did not fit. I was hoping to exchange them but I could not get through by phone. I emailed customer service and waited over 3 weeks and never got any response, and when I tried online chat, no one ever responded on the other end. I gave up. I am returning the item, but if these experiences are any indication, I wonder if I will ever get my refund! I may need to get my credit card company involved. BEWARE:The clothes are fine-good quality but overpriced. Their customer service is the WORST I've experienced in a VERY long time, if not EVER. They are an absolute joke. I have tried for SIX days to get someone to answer the phone, respond to an email, return a voicemail-anything to help me with a return. When I finally got someone to engage in their online chat, they told me to use their website (I'd already done that & their website wasn't working, which I explained in my very first sentence of the chat), and then the customer "experience" rep closed the chat. I think this may be the first negative review I've ever written, but if I can save one person from dealing with this type of hassle, it's worth it. Stio customer service is AWFUL. No one ever answers the phone or calls you back. I ordered merchandise, they charged my card and two weeks later I email them to find out it has not yet shipped. However, they won't let me cancel the order. They want me to wait for it ( don't know how long) and then return it and then wait another ten days for them to process... all while keeping my money. In fact, they never informed me that the item was backordered or not shipped. They want you to download the Shop app to track it but there is nothing to track!! All this and I only see glowing reviews on the website. Sounds fishy to me. read more

If I could rate them with zero stars I would. I've been a long-time STIO customer (and before that Cloudveil), but I'm done. Their customer service is so poor that it will likely cause STIO to go under, too. I purchased a new jacket and pants for the 2020 ski season, but the jacket was so bad on so many levels. Weird side zippers that when opened look like you're wearing a paper sack. I returned the jacket and pants. Three weeks later they refunded only the jacket because the warehouse "can't seem to find the pants and/or process both items at the same time." Three emails (no response from customer service) and three phone calls later (differing info each time) I finally filed a dispute with American Express. Likely I'll be out more than $300. Regrettably, I did not read the customer reviews for this company before placing a $702.00 order (my first and last order) on 12/29/21. HUGE MISTAKE. There is a common thread in reviews here on Google, Trust Pilot and Yelp. All related to the no-existent Customer Care and handling of botched orders. My story starts with them not holding the Shipper they use (FedX) accountable for lost and un-trackable packages. As previously stated, my order was placed on 12/29/21 - a delivery tracking marker was available saying the package would deliver on 1/5/22. Acceptable given shipping constraints and weather this time of year. By the time the 5th of January came, the package had gone lost/un-accounted for. The shipper gave no information on the delay. I started a query with Stio, and did get a response but they deflected the issue to the shipper - saying they have to give them 10 days from the day the order was picked-up (12/29/21). On 1/8/22 the shipper updated status suddenly and indicated that it was a truck locally for delivery that day. The package was missing for 7 business days. During this time Stio opened a Shipment Claim with FedX who has now denied the claim as stated in their reply on 1/11 - saying the package was delivered, case closed. The package that was delivered contained 2 of the 5 items I ordered, and clearly showed evidence of tampering/theft. The end of the box was retaped which looked suspect to me so I shot the attached pics before opening. The thief had cut/ripped the corner enough to access the package and pillage it without cutting the seal that was placed at the warehouse along the bottom of the box. I have now paid for in-full $472.76, for items I do not have. I contacted Stio on 1/11 via email on the "Case File" email thread which seemed active. I've not heard anything from the CS Rep that returned my initial emails. Nor have I been able to reach ANYONE in person at the CS phone number provided. On top of the time and hassle that has already be expended and issues transpired, I am reaching out to AMEX, PayPal and starting another claim with FedX. Outlook here is truly bleak as I see it and I'll be spending a good amount of additional time if there is any hope of getting my money back or the 3 items I have paid for and do not have. Ten years and thousands of dollars later, I've never experienced anything like this from Back Country, REI, Smith Optics or Yeti Cycles - similar, high-end outdoor suppliers. Truly pitiful. Zero Stars rating was not a option here unfortunately. If they can make good, I'm happy to revise my review. I just want what I have paid for and I will go away quietly. WARNING - YOU MAY NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK Ordered 3 items online in early December. It took almost 2 weeks for delivery. 2 of the 3 ITEMS were sent back on Dec 22nd and I received an email on 12/31 saying they had arrived in store and were being processed with a refund back to my credit card within 7-10 business days. No refund occurred & radio silence from STIO. On 1/22 I received an email saying "we're delayed in processing returns due to Covid and please expect an additional two weeks until your return payment is processed" This morning, 1/29, I received an email that my return has been approved and "you can expect any applicable refunds in the next 5-10 business days". WHAT A JOKE. By the time I get a refund, they'll have kept my $403 for over 1 month since they received the items back. BE CAREFUL ordering from this company, it feels to me that they are having cashflow issues and need new orders to cover refunds to others. read more

This company provides the absolute WORST customer service I have ever encountered. I placed an online order through their website on 10/26/2020 - estimated ship time at that time was 5-10 business days. By 11/2/2020, I had not received any kind of shipment confirmation from them. I called their 800# multiple times and sent 2 emails to their customer support email address over the next 2 days asking for an ETA on shipping. No one ever answers their 800# (and I mean NEVER), and it took 2 days to get a response back over email. The order had somehow gotten "lost" in their system or overlooked or something, and they shipped it out on 11/4/2020 via Fedex 2nd day at no extra cost to me. The shirt I ordered was a $129 men's shirt, on sale at 20% off that price. I received the order on 11/6/2020. My husband tried it on, and we immediately noticed that the bottom snap on the placket was sewn too closely to the snap above it, resulting in a large gap between the snaps that poked out. Considering the price of the shirt, we felt it should be replaced for a defect this obvious. I once again reached out to the customer service team via both email and leaving a message on their 800# requesting that we return the defective item and a replacement item be shipped in its place, OR, if that wasn't possible, to just issue a refund. That request was sent on 11/16/2020, and I received the return shipping label the very next day on 11/17/2020 with the assurance that as soon as the defective item was received back, they would send out a replacement item. Per the tracking number on the label provided by Stio, the returned item was received at their warehouse on 12/1/2020. I waited about 8-9 days just in case they were backed up on processing returns, then began reaching out via email and phone again on 12/10/2020 regarding the replacement shirt being shipped to us or a refund issued. I reached out MULTIPLE times from 12/10/2020 to 12/22/2020 asking for an update. At this point, they had had the returned defective item for 3 weeks. NO response via their customer service email, and once again, no answer at their 800#. All of a sudden, I get an email from their automated system on 12/23/2020 saying a refund had been issued, and I would see the credited amount on my card in 5-10 business days. Of course, that 10th business day went by, then the 11th, then the 12th and so on, and still no refund on my credit card. I reached out AGAIN via email (several times) and phone beginning 1/7/2021 to 1/14/2021. I finally get an email back from customer service with a tracking number for a replacement shirt being sent out. This was in addition to the email I received saying they were refunding me for the purchase. It is entirely unacceptable for an order for one shirt to drag on for almost 3 months. I received the replacement shirt on 1/19/2021, and I'm just hoping and praying there is nothing wrong with it because I can't even imagine having to continue to deal with the incompetence of this company and their customer service team.
