This is one of my favorite places to shop. I come to JH at least 5x a year and I make it a point to stop here seasonally. One of a kind items, as well as comfort-familiar pieces in boho, chic, preppy, casual and street wear styles. They carry clothing, shoes, accessories, some makeup, home goods, and there is a salon in the back (can't vouch for them, never tried it). Items are priced are similar to other resort town boutiques. Reading the others, I'm surprised they encountered bad service. I've never felt judged or was treated with anything but standard respect. The staff isn't the fawn-over-you type but they're polite, helpful when I ask, and are self aware enough to know when to approach someone versus greet and leave alone. Proud to Shop Local! read more

Don't pick up any products as you're shopping. once you've decided what you want, grab a staff member and point out everything you want, let them do all the touching. An attendant very abruptly approached me, mumbled some words so quickly I can't even remember what she said, and basically snatched a $20 deck of cards out of my hands when they sell - I kid you not - $200 scarves. yes you read that right. I did enjoy all the clothes but did feel judged by some of the staff members. I didn't feel very welcome and wasn't a fan of the environment. I was honestly quiet shocked at some of the prices and really didn't understand why the items were priced so high. If you're willing to pay 600 dollars for a normal sweater this is the place for you. read more

Love this store and their helpful staff! They carry great staples at every price point so I can save or splurge when I shop! They proudly cater to all sizes and shapes which is an important, sometimes overlooked quality in a women's store. Also, it's not only clothing- they carry a variety of beauty products, books, accessories, candles, decor, etc. They even have an alterations/expert tailor and hair salon onsite. I used them for my wedding dress alterations and it was tailored to perfection! read more

Horrible, rude staff. According to yelp, we were not the only ones to have issues with the help. Odd that management would allow this to go on after multiple complaints. My only conclusion is that management and owners are complicit and WANT their staff to be rude. My advice is to STAY AWAY. I will be reaching out to management about our specific incident and will update with their response. In the meantime, understand that the existing complaints about the rude help are 100% spot on. read more

At the original location, this store was great. I mean, LOVED it... nice help, good price range mix, fun shop. Definitely not so since the move/expansion. Every now and then you can find good deals on the clearance racks upstairs, but that's the only way a working woman can shop here. VERY rude help, won't leave you alone for a minute. Took some sale items to try on and was continuing to walk around with said items over my arm, as most women do whilst contemplating their purchases, and this woman comes at me saying "oh, well I'll take those." I actually had to say no, I'm just holding onto them for a minute. Jesus. Apparently this store attempts to cater to the rich, second home women and fur coat-wearing tourists. Frustrating for a local just trying to do a little shopping. 2 stars for the sale racks, but that's about it. Not worth the hassle. read more

Staff wasn't very friendly. Clothing is pricey. I thought it would be a little cheaper than other places... Nope. I wasn't a fan of their sale section... I guess they have 30% off on the weekend but still.... Just on the sale items. Went here hoping to find a deal, but I will probably just buy from Michael Kors or free people sale or outlet online. Hmmmm.... reading the other reviews... it strikes me as a bit odd that the main problem people have with this store is the service, and some said too much attention and one said they waited for 10 minutes to check out. I know that stores are all different and it is sometimes hard to gauge how much attention a customer needs, but I would certainly make myself known if I had to wait more than a few seconds; it is possible the employees were distracted with other customers. On top of that, it is far more likely that someone would go out of their way to write a negative review than a positive one, since it would seem their sensibility was offended. With that said, I liked the fact that I was simply greeted, allowed to browse on my own, and when I was ready to check out they helped me right away. On top of that, my items were gently wrapped with tissue, and the cashier did respond to conversation, so... it seemed fine to me. Now - to the part of product quality, selection and price.... fabulous. There was a great selection of quality items. I am from Seattle where there is a plethora of good stuff to shop for, but I was pleasantly surprised to happen upon all this great stuff in one shop - a shop amongst all the cruddy tourist garb in town. I recognized many of the brands but there was still MUCH that I had never seen. The owner/purchaser has a real knack as well as great taste! The prices were NOT inflated either - something I would expect from a trendier/tasteful shop such as this. So no, I do not live in Jackson and can afford to vacation there, but I am NOT rich. I understand that the prices may be higher than some stores, but these are QUALITY ITEMS - the same quality that those in a bigger city would pay MUCH more for. Some of the items, in fact, were half the cost of what they would be in Seattle. And this eclectic mix of beautiful things all in one pretty little clean store - even more of a great deal. There is a great mix of funky, modern, romantic and fun in this store. I am truly a fan, and since I am returning home, I look forward to the creation of their upcoming website! I stop in here every time I'm in town for work. I always find something unique. Last time I bought an amazing leather purse for a pretty reasonable price. I get so many compliments on it! They seem to have a great mix of clothing and gifts at all times of the year. Its hard not to find something for all your girly girls in here. Keep it up Altitude! read more

Alright, updating AGAIN... I just can't stay away from this place, they have such great merchandise. Staff still a little chilly, but not mean and terrible. I was surprised to find such brands there in Jackson. I loved their selection of brands and yes it is "pricey" , however, they are "pricey" brands. If you're looking for knock offs go to forever 21.... If you're looking for the real deal this store has it. I had a blast trying on dresses and the staff was so nice to me. My husband & I went into the store the other evening because I saw some boots in the window. We were heading to another store but decided to stop in to try them on. They were tall boots and I have a high instep so I was unable to get my foot into the boot because of the angle. The tall blond girl waiting on me told me that they must be only made for girls with skinny feet. I am a size 14 but I don't have fat feet, LOL! WOW! How unprofessional. I'm a little bit perplexed at the reviews here. This store has an exceptional selection of brands, the prices are normal for these brands and I thought the merchandising was great. I personally had a super time there - with a girlfriend - and we thought the people were just lovely. We both bought some pieces from Velvet but they have lots of Johnny Was and Free People and Hudson denim. If there has been a problem with the sales staff in the past- it's definitely in the past. :-) read more

I have been coming to Jackson almost every month for a year building my company here. Most every time I have stopped in Altitude because they carry many brands I LOVE. Every month I have been met with customer service that is quite unbecoming to say the least!! Condescending, aloof, and down right elitist. Last month I chose not to go into the store because they have always been so rude. Today I decided to give it one more try...I was so taken aback by how rude they were, I actually left clothes on the checkout counter and left. I am no stranger to these brands of clothing or their price point. I will happily pay for items I like, and today, I did just that...I got all the items I had picked out at Altitude from my tried and true, Neiman Marcus!! Here's the best part, it was actually cheaper, ships straight home and I know they have spectacular customer service!!! I highly advise walking straight past this store and finding these brands from a store that will treat you the way a customer should be treated!!! read more

Best store in Jackson!!! I went in there and pretty much couldn't find anything I didn't like. I think the buyer does a great job at finding stuff that is not only adorable but that's also easy to style no matter your taste or age. Great jewlelry, very unique. Some pretty cute girls work there and they seemed very happy to help and professional. Everything's really cool in there.
