I was in need to find a place to get a massage but didn't want to just go to any place. I did my research and decides to give Stillwater Massage a try and I am so glad I did! I was skeptical going in the time of COVID but my back was killing me and I couldn't put it off anymore. I workout a lot and my body was in need of some TLC. I booked my first appointment with Rachel and I have been back every month since I first started! Rachel is the best in getting out all of the kinks and applies the perfect pressure. In result of working from home since March, my posture and back were suffering. Rachel focuses on what you want her to focus on and gives recommendations on what to do outside of the massage to keep your body going strong and to eventually see some improvements. I've been listening to her recommendations and I already feel 10x better than I did before I started coming. She's a miracle worker! Stillwater massage is fabulous. Alisha is my new, and hopefully permanent, Massage Therapist. I need regular massage therapy because my work can have myriad overuse issues. Aside from this, I started seeing Alisha for nagging lower back and leg pain. She has greatly relieved these and I always feel much better after seeing her. Stillwatter Massage is not your ordinary massage studio. Prepare to walk out realizing all the massages you had before were just, ok. The times I've gotten a massage here, I have walked away feeling as though I live in an entirely new body. If I had an ache in my neck or back, within a day or two it's gone. The more I learned about Stillwater, the more this made sense. Holly, the owner, is one of Seattle's most highly trained therapists (once teacher), and she's done an incredible job of curating a staff that share her level of skill and passion for massage. These therapists are especially good at helping with chronic pain and injuries, and work closely with physical therapists and doctors as well. This being said, ALL of the massage therapists are incredible. I have a very busy schedule so it's hard for me to plan ahead and I cannot tell you how many times I've been disappointed at other studios when I wasn't able to get my go-to therapist. Every person I've seen at this studio delivers the same level of expert care I've never gotten any place else. The office is super clean, relaxing and everyone is warm and friendly. It is shocking Stillwater only has 14 reviews (soon-to-be 15) at the moment. I have always read, though, that people are more apt to leaving bad reviews over good. I am so thankful I found and took a chance on this place. There's a reason all reviews are 5 stars based off professionalism and craft. My therapist, Jason, gave me a 90m deep tissue massage. I was incredibly impressed at how well he knew the muscle/bone/nerve body structures and his craft. I named my specific issue and he understood how that issue effects me across my body. I booked my boyfriend a last minute birthday massage here. I've lived in North Seattle for a long time but we just relocated to the south end and I wanted to find a place closer to us that could become our "go to". It's hard enough to pick the right massage therapist for yourself, but picking one for someone else is even harder. After reading everyone's bios on the website I figured Nanette would be a good bet and, as it turns out, she was the only one available that day. My boyfriend came out of his appointment looking like a new man. He has had a lot of tightness in his neck, back, and glutes as well as some nerve problems in his hands undoubtedly related to the tightness elsewhere. The first thing he said to me when I picked him up was, "I want to get a massage with Nanette every month." She used techniques no one else has ever used that worked extremely well for him and took her time working through particularly tight areas. She encouraged him and talked him through some of the more difficult releases and even provided him with material for everyday stretching when it was all over. He couldn't stop singing her praises in the car ride home. To top it all off, she is the kind of person you immediately feel at home with - a true gold star personality. The woman as the front desk was also a pleasure to deal with. She even noticed it was our first time in and gave us a discount! I'm so happy that the first place I looked to find a "keeper" therapist, I found one. This is an incredible place to get a massage. Amanda and Brittany have both been excellent-professional, highly skilled and take the time to understand problem areas. Not only are the massages relaxing, the massage technique is also helpful to relieve pain. The staff are courteous, flexible and make you feel welcome. The atmosphere relaxing and very clean. I had a wonderful 60min massage with Brittany and it was GREAT! Brittany is a warm and inviting person that made me feel comfortable immediately. She gave me really useful feedback about the tension in my body and about my hydration level. She was very quick to pick up on the nuances of my body. She did several things that I love I rarely experience from my massage therapist: arm massage with deep work and concentrated work on my gluts that helped relieve cramping down my hamstrings. Let me start by saying Elisha the massage therapist I have seen twice gets 5 stars. She is one of the only people who has helped me with my back issues after months of physical therapy. I'm given Stillwater Massage 3 stars merely based on my interaction with the owner today and the fact that they called the day I had an appointment to cancel because of a conflict in scheduling. I understand things happen, but I have had this appointment for 2 weeks so to call the day off was a little annoying. No big deal, they asked if I can reschedule for tomorrow. Since Elisha is the only in the office listed as in-network for my insurance on my insurance's website I asked if the openings tomorrow were with her. Well Holly, the owner, told me that Elisha is only in-network with my insurance for acupuncture and not massage. Okay then why does my insurance website say massage as well as acupuncture? She just reiterated she is not in-network and then asked if I wanted to cancel or reschedule. At this point I don't feel like she wants me as a customer nor do I feel like going round and round about it. I loved Elisha and just hope I can find someone else who is as good as she is, but it's not worth my time or energy to try to make appointments at a place where they cancel at the last minute and then the owner makes you feel unwelcome. Maybe it was miscommunication, but I'm disappointed to not get this massage for my much needed pain and for my birthday and I'm too busy to be rescheduling things at the last minute. read more

I really can't say enough good things about the treatment I have received here. Everyone here is amazing. It has very literally changed my body and my life. I was first treated for whiplash due to a car accident and had car insurance coverage. I saw Montie twice a week for a month and by the end when my neck was better we moved onto my back. I was bummed when I found out that my health insurance would not cover massage, but I was seeing so much progress that I decide that investing out of pocket would be the smartest way to spend my money. I had back surgery for scoliosis when I was 19, I'm now 57, and have four vertebrae fused with spinal jacks and a bar connecting it all together. In the last 5 years I have suffered from extreme nerve pain in my left leg and have been diagnosed with severe stenosis and disc degeneration. I really thought that I would just have to live with this for the rest of my life and my only option was surgery to fuse the rest of spine. I went to Eric at Renew physical therapy for a year, who is also amazing and helped alleviate some of my pain. He is also the one who referred me to Holly and Stillwater massage- they work out of Renew as well as their own office. I started in February going once a week to Montie and by the end of April I can say that I was 95% pain free. I still have my moments of minor pain but having been in chronic pain for so long, it feels like nothing. I now go every two weeks and I still feel my body changing with every treatment. I have also lost 30lbs because I can walk and exercise again. I feel as though I have a new lease on life and I can't thank Montie enough for working with me. read more

Montie is everything people! I got the pleasure of having Montie work on my body from a work injury and it was life changing! I've never experienced a massage before her and she made the experience great every time. She's very knowledgeable about the work and would explain what she was doing and why when I would ask her. She has a great personality as well. Brittany is another masseuse that I got to work with once and she was also great.
