Pat is an INCREDIBLE fishing guide and human being!…read more As experienced anglers, this was mine and brother-in-law's first ice fishing experience ever, and it was an amazing and raw experience. Working with Pat was so great! It was easy to communicate with Pat through text and phone calls, to understand the possible fishing conditions with constant fluctuation in weather. Pat is so knowledgable, I felt so comfortable learning from him as we picked a date to fish. We met Pat at a staging area, and he drove us in his Polaris out to the Webber Lake, as the roads were blocked off to snowmobiles only. The Polaris was such a treat to ride, protected from the cold with the heat blasting. It was so fun to just ride through the snow and see the beautiful snowy landscape. Once we got to the frozen lake, Pat made sure it was safe by leading first, carrying all the equipment with him by himself. Pat had already checked the day before and week before to ensure the ice was in good condition to be on and also to fish. I really appreciate his thoroughness for safety. Once we got to the spot, we set up shelter since it was forecasted to snow up to 1-inch in the afternoon. Little did we know, it snowed HEAVILY with harsh winds soon after we set up shelter and started fishing. Thank you Pat for providing us the shelter and warmth as a mini-snowstorm blew all around us, what seemed like a foot of snow. After the shelter and drilling holes, we got to fishing. Pat provided all the equipment needed, and all the hands all training you could succeed with. Pat taught us how to use the Garmin Livescope and how to finesse the lures to entice the fish, catch their attention but not scare them away. The Livescope made the experience like a video game, seeing our lures bob up and down, and thermal signatures of the fish grow and fade in out of view. It happened to be a very slow day for us, with the snowstorm it made the fishing unpredictable. Despite this, we hit our limits of 5 trouts each! We caught beautiful Cutthroat Trout keepers, and also Brook trout that we released. Each hookset felt like a tremendous victory on top of the ice. Pat is also an amazing human being. We enjoyed the conversations we had with him, learning about fishing, the area, and his own life experiences. I highly recommend Pat for ice fishing around Truckee/North Tahoe. He's one of the best fishing guides I've ever worked with. I plan to come back when it's warmer to chase some Kokanee!

From classroom to lake day it was clear they sincerely care and I got 0 vibes this is a "pay-to-pass" operation. They took time with students to calm anxieties and make sure we understood not just the what but the why. But ultimately, the quality of instruction can be gauged from how a class is conducted when things are a bit trickier, and THIS is where the instructors really shined as high-level professionals. Everyone in a class progresses at slightly different rates, and not only can it feel stressful if you are not "getting it" at the same speed as other folks, but the added pressure of knowing the class is waiting on you can ramp the pressure up even more. For people who needed that bit of extra help, they had enough staff available to branch off and help them with skills development without other students having to wait. After the skills had been brought up to par, they rejoined the class and made huge progress. It was really cool to see. For the lake portion of the class, the student to divemaster/instructor ratio was nearly 2:1. At any point I could turn around and see a divemaster near by in case I had an issue. If you get your cert here rest assured you'll have many skilled pairs of eyes to watch over and get you where you need to be. Will def be doing more certs with them and can't recommend Adventure Scuba highly enough.

Turns out, the price I was quoted was just for cleaning and inspection. The person that took my gear did not explain it that way. If the service and parts price had been mentioned I would have only had 1 reg and the BCD serviced. The final price of service and parts was 4 times the quoted cost of cleaning. It took 4 weeks after dropping it all off for them ot even start to look at any of it. It then took another 2 1/2 weeks to get it finshed. The quality of the work was good, but expensive and slow.

Having the right equipment and knowledge how to use it and skill to maximize opportunity is the differentiator between a good trip or bad. If you're the kind of person who does not find a sunrise on Lake Tahoe and learning about the lake from a fishing perspective, fulfilling, then don't fish this lake or any other place with a guide because you most likely suck. This day was a good day. A great day. Brad had us on the fish so much that we were all hoping for some tune to rest! It really was an incredible day. I will not make an assumption on the other guides who work North Lake Tahoe but will tell you why I will recommend LTFT and Brad Bujica to anyone and everyone I know. First, equipment. We fished off an Ll welded, 24' North River with a 300hp Yamaha and 8hp Honda kicker...all very quiet and top of the line. This particular boat is a hardcore Pro setup. He has it rigged with 2 extended arm Scotty down-riggers with auto stops, a garmin at the helm and a garmin on the transom. We fished 2 downrigger rods with line counter reels, nothing extraordinary but not necessary for trolling. Brad understands and ran this setup like it is part of him. The action was fast with multiple doubles but we never tangled or were left waiting for a set up to get back in the water. Brad was solo with no deck hand but, to be honest, i feel that a hand would have lessened the experience; more work for Brad but better for us. Brad is a humble guy. He clearly knows what he is doing and made adjustments to the set up in such subtle way that all seemed to pay off. I asked a-lot of questions that I am sure he has answered a million times but he was open and honest and with a personality that is so "Sierra Chilled" that I felt like I was with a family member who really wanted us to have a great experience. (Thank God he is not a salesman because i would buy anything this dude is selling.) Finally, all of the guides on the lake will clean your fish but this guy does an incredible job with the knife. Boneless and skinned fillets that had nearly no meat loss. I mean, what a whip cream and cherries finish! I will be fishing with him on Pyramid lake in a few weeks and add another review.
