Santa Barbara Island

I was certified here about a year ago. Doug was my instructor and was fabulous. All of the dive masters who assisted on the open water diving were wonderful and everyone was extremely patient and helped you feel at ease. I have been on two of the trips organized by the owner's and they were extraordinary. The last trip I went on I was by myself, I slipped off a ladder and broke my leg and ankle. The kindness of all the staff from the boat, other divers and the owners of Adventure Scuba Center was so above and beyond. Scott and Amy took me to the hospital, took care of me and drove my car home. They are the definition of graciousness, hospitality and good will. Diving with them is a honor, and I'm looking forward to the next trip! I honestly cannot day enough good things. I highly recommend getting certified here and diving with them!!!

Fantastic class. Wife and I are open water certified.

They certified my daughter for NAUI open water. Super friendly, helpful and patient. The rental gear was in great shape.

Cave Rock is one of those hikes that gives you an amazing payoff without having to hike for miles…read more It's short but the views at the top are absolutely worth it. The last little section is a bit of a rock scramble, but you can skip it if you're not comfortable and still get incredible views of Lake Tahoe. Go early if you can because parking is limited. If you're looking for a quick hike with some of the best scenery around the lake, this is definitely one to add to your list. It can get crowded at the top. If you get lucky and it is not crowded, take snacks up there, sit up there for a bit and enjoy.

As a non-Nevada resident, the cost to launch and park is $25 a day. If you're a NV resident, it's $20. To avoid the crowds and to ensure we have parking, my party arrives before the 6am opening time. Surprisingly, we are hardly ever the first ones in line. When it's our turn, the guy removes the seal (it's a wire that indicates that the boat has been inspected) and records a few notes. Usually, I pay for the $25 in cash, but you can use the kiosk which takes credit card, but it's not user friendly. With two launch lines, the place is initially busy, but calms down 9am -10am. After pulling out of the water, the guy re-seals the boat. There are bathrooms available as well as PFDs if you forgot yours.

What to do when you have two friends from out-of-state that want to see Lake Tahoe? How about a…read moresunset cruise? We board the yacht about 6:30 so we could find a comfortable place to sit. Before the rest of the group had even boarded, we were offered a drink from the bar, one included in the price of the ticket, or a number of non-alcoholic beverages at no charge. We decided on a mango-pineapple juice. We casted off just a few minutes after 7pm with lots of information being given be the captain. As we cruised toward Emerald Bay, the captain shared quite of bit of history and trivia about Tahoe and the surrounding areas. As we were pulling into the Emerald Bay area, the captain spotted a bald eagle landing in one of trees. He steered the boat toward the trees getting as close as he dared The only thing my friend did to the photo below was to zoom in closer. The sunset on Tahoe was beautiful along with the surrounding areas! Now that the sun has just about disappeared, it was time to head back to the dock. The crew of this yacht made sure everyone was attended to from the moment they boarded this ship until they disembarked. They came through regularly to take the empty cups/glasses and trash and asking if there would be anything else. If you are looking for a relaxing, semi-quiet evening, we did get a bit noise on the front end of the ship, to share with friends, think about a nice sunset cruise.

This tour was amazing! The views and the information given was perfect. The staff and crew were…read morevery attentive.
