My leased RAV 4 was hit in the rear a few years ago. When the lease was up, I needed to get it fixed with the insurance money I received. A friend recommended Howie at Stillwater Auto Body in Mahopac. He was GREAT!!!!! They were great. They took care of everything. And even though my car was hurt in 2011, the insurance still paid for my car rental in 2013. In NY, I think you get like 3 years to fix. Howie said it would take a week, but I got a call 4 days later to come and get Baby. They did an awesome job. I am so pleased to have found this honest and reliable auto body shop. This the my first yelp review. I'm taking the time to write it because of the excellent service and repairs I experienced after my car was in an accident. Stillwater was recommended to me by a family member. I usually go into these types of shops very untrusting, especially since mechanics are notorious for overcharging, especially when a woman who knows nothing about cars and repairs walks in. Howie, one of the owners, was extremely professional and kind. He took the time to help me unload car seats, explained the timeline for repairs and gave me a place to wait for the rental company to pick me up. When the person from my car rental company arrived in an unmarked car with no ID, I naively got in the car. Howie burst out of the shop, cell phone in hand, and would not let me leave with the driver until he had verified his identity and made sure I was going to be safe. I learned a lesson in safety while truly appreciating Howie's care and concern for a customer that he had just met. My car was finished a week earlier than expected. Rather than overcharging, charges were actually less than the estimate (yay!). And, most importantly, after almost $7000 worth of damage my car looks and drives like new. While I hope I never need to have autobody work done again, I will definitely bring my business here if I do! read more
