Since when has a fair evaluation ever been insulting? 98% is excellent so if you want to risk 2% to be questionable aesthetically, structurally and "is this even legal" they'll probably be ok In my case that 2% is a big deal. They are extremely high priced. So with the price tag comes the expectation of awesome high end results. Not my experience.

In October of this year I contacted Jay to fix the trim that had come off in a storm. I was told they don't do siding anymore and the warranty doesn't cover winds of 88+ mph (which we didn't have). After a few email exchanges, they have not gotten back to me. We now have gone through insurance to have the trim replaced. At the time of the original work, I gave them a break and did not plaster this all over social media. A mistake I won't make again when I've been taken.

For context we started a job worth about $4000 back in Feb 2024 -- replacement toilets, installing vent hood, fixing a portion of drywall and paint in 3 spots in the ceiling, and changing window balances. It is now a year and half later and I am dissatisfied with everything but the vent hood and it has been so difficult to get Mike to come back and fix things. Toilet replacement - toilet was leaking from the flange somewhere still after the replacement, he would not come back to fix after I asked him 3 times about this issue Paint - we had a portion of the ceiling painted after drywall repairs -- I had a can of paint in my garage from previous homeowner but wasn't sure if it would match. Mike went ahead and did the whole ceiling and it ended up not matching -- he still charged ME when doing the repainting, implying that I took responsibility. Lesson learned -- don't ever try to help a contractor. Overall just a really confusing experience, I should have followed my instincts and pestered about the expectations and cost but I thought we had some rapport for some reason. Changing window balances - This was the most egregious... we needed new window balances on 10 or so windows in my home per Mike's suggestion. I called him and texted him multiple times asking when he would come back to do this... it took him several months and he gave me excuses saying it was hard for him to get the parts, because he wanted to give me quality balances and not the cheap kind. When he came he didn't bring the balances, and he judged that my old balances were fine and they just needed adjusting. He actually left one window without a balance, and never got back to me about the new parts which I wanted left at my place because it was part of the original contract. Also after a few weeks the problem came back and the windows were tough to open again.

After I accepted their competitive estimate, we agreed on an installation date which they hit precisely. After seeing them starting to work on the installation the morning, I was out the rest of the day. When I returned in the evening I was greeted with perfect gutters and downspouts installed all around my home. And I'll add no other signs that anyone had been there -- no damage of any kind, trash, or anything. It couldn't have been better. The next workday I received an emailed invoice that I could conveniently pay from my phone. So easy, so perfect. I only wish all the work I have done could be done so professionally. His estimate was based mostly on labor and basic materials (he brought paint brushes, buckets and coverings). I supplied the paint and tape. The final paint-job was really good (clean lines, attention to detail around wood and moldings, even coats) and he worked all day to get it done. When he left the paint was drying so the tape was still up. We had to take tape down ourselves the next day, but not a big deal. Most importantly, he was gracious and kind throughout--even when we had to do some last minute cleaning up on high recesses. Given his rates and quality of work, he definitely earned the 5 stars. Wilfredo gave me a laundry list of items his team would need to begin work, which I was to leave to get for him. He announced that he would go home and take a shower then return to begin the project. He returned and one of his team members blue-taped and put plastic over all my cabinets and paper over the floors in preparation for the repairs and painting that was to begin the next morning. The next day, I waited for a team member to arrive. When it got close to lunch time, I spoke with Wilfredo who told me that his team member wouldn't be able to come until that evening. Once he did arrive, he set to work repairing cracks and did a nice job only he didn't visit every room and repair every crack. He told me that he was leaving for dinner and would return but he did not come back. The following day, someone was to come and paint and I planned to ask for the forgotten cracks to be repaired. I was, again, told how the arranged team member wouldn't be by at the agreed upon time. We settled on the next day.
