I'm a regular at Steve's Bathhouse and the staff that works there, especially the woman at the front counter with a long short, white and black hair, heavyset lady, and also the older gentleman with the glasses, bald head and a beard. They are absolutely the rudest staff members I have ever witnessed the woman is always very rude. The way she talks to you. She talks down to you like you're a seven-year-old child and you're stupid and the older gentleman is very rude by slamming his fist on your door when your time is up and letting you know and when you're trying to get your things together, the man will come by and slam his fist on your door again like he's the damn police. I cannot believe how rude they were. The woman told me that I need to be more mindful of my time and I let her know that I didn't know when my time was and that they didn't let me know and she straight up said " we don't have to let you know when your time is up, you're an adult and you should be mindful of your time" first of all, I couldn't remember what time I got there I am autistic so memory isn't my strongest suit. And my anxiety levels go up when people are being very hostile when they're talking to me. I also have ADHD so it takes me time to gather up my things. The woman told me that I was over an hour past my time. I had no idea I was passed my time by that much. when the older gentleman knocked or I should say slammed his fist on my door twice in a row within less than five seconds apart from each other like he was the police. This isn't the first time that they have been rude. Every freaking time I go in there they are so rude. The tone in their voice especially the heavy set lady! they talk to you like you're stupid absolutely unprofessional and condescending. I told the woman you don't have to be rude talking to me like that.. the woman replied " I'm not being rude. I'm just letting you know to be mindful of your time" I told her yeah you are being rude by the tone in your voice. After I had signed my name on the card to check out as she's taking the card she condescendingly says " I'm sorry for the rude tone in my voice. You have yourself a wonderful day." The way, she said it I felt like slapping her across the face that's how angry she made me. Every time I go in to Steve's I'm always treated like this! And I wanted to stop! I left with my anxiety levels so high it took me over an hour to calm myself down. Being an autistic person I almost came to the point of having an autistic meltdown! The owner needs to have their employees trained on customer service and there should be an overhead announcement page system so the staff can remotely page which ever room that there time is up! I get being mindful of your time, but if you're out and about on the floor or downstairs by the steam room or in the steam room, you don't have a cell phone with you to check your time so you're unaware of what time it is, I was gonna extend my time, but not after the way I was treated. read more

This place used to be pretty cool and pretty busy on a weekend. Then the owners went and tried fixing something that wasn't broken and made it co-ed full time (despite their website stating it was only from noon Sunday till 6am Monday) it's just wrong and weird. If they wanted to rebrand as a straight sex club they should have renamed it and put a sign in bold print before collecting your non refundable payment! What a bad business move. They can't possibly make more money on the few women that are actually willing to come here, at least not to make up for the amount of men who no longer are willing to. I hate to write this, because I've been going to Steve's for a number of decades, yes, I'm old. First of all I been in the hospitality industry all my life, starting out as a limo driver for a private company in Las Vegas and ending my career as a Human Resources manager for the largest hotel in San Francisco. But the new manager at Steve's has no customer service skills what so ever. Furthermore, the new employees, that's the new ones, are not friendly at all. I never had a problem when Steve was the owner, however, the new manager looked into my room and saw a lighter one evening and started raising her voice and telling me that my room was non-smoking. Duh! I was using the lighter out on the patio, not in my room. Then, about a month ago, an employee called my room number while I was in the TV room to let me know my time was up. I kiddingly said, Nooooo, dragging it out like that. Apparently she took offense. When I tried to apologize, again kiddingly, I bumped her with my forearm, to which again she took offense and started preaching to me that I wasn't supposed to touch employees. I tried to apologize FOUR times and in the end, the manager started yelling at me (I was at the top of the stairs and she was at the bottom) and informing me that the staff we're not my friends and that I shouldn't be kidding with them, and that I should not be touching them because those were the rules. Duh! I know that is the rule. The bump with my forearm was an effort to make the employee laugh and realize that when I said no, it was not in defiance, but I was kidding. Since then, I have been treated with a cold shoulder by everyone on the swing shift. I started going to Steve's when I was 33 years old, I am now 77. Needless to say, I have paid tens of thousands of dollars over that time. No more my friends, NOOOO more. I'll probably be banned for my opinion, but guess what? It's called the INTERNET and until they get a Manager and employees with customer service SKILLS and a sense of humor, I choose to use my pool and hot tub at home. I come in here all the time and I always 12 hour room regardless pay a 12 hour or for a six hour or even a want to be treated with respect when you're giving respect to employees there are two employees that consistently are rude. There's a heavyset lady with blonde hair that's and there's an older gentleman that's short and slender and both of them are always rude to their customers. They talk to them in a very rude manner like you don't matter, and the woman speaks to you in a very firm tone like as she's yelling at you. Steve's has recently been repainted inside and the repairs have been made to the steam room, so it's now open again. The steam room is my favorite room in place. The room that they gave me was crawling with ants which I noticed too late and were all over my bed, my clothes, inside my shoes, & my bag. I told one of their employees named Mark about the incident where I had to throw away things I paid for due to their ant problem and if I'd be able to get a partial refund since it was disgusting having a bunch of insects crawling on you while you have to do Mark's job of keeping the rooms clean. I have brought many new people to Steve's since there is nothing to do in Reno, NV and Mark was extremely rude to all of them where most of them have left early to never return again. They need to let go of Mark and find someone who is able to run the place better with better customer service skills with the understanding not everyone is a sex fiend veteran and a lot of first timers want to explore their sexuality and feel Mark gives gay people a bad name and comes off as an asshole to new people. Steve's Bathhouse is a wonderful place for couples on Wednesday and Sundays (Discounted room rates for women and men) The first time my girlfriend and I decided to visit was when we heard coed men and women was on Sunday and Wednesday. Steve's bathhouse is one of the two places in Reno where you can live out some of your fantasies with your chic. There is no judgement, you can feel free to explore and have a good time. Upon arrival parking is on the street or parking lot across from the bathhouse. Accessible from the first right turn just pass Steve's (It's more discreet parking). We gathered our things in a small tote bag, removed our jewelry at home earlier, secured our vehicle and entered Steve's Bathhouse. I opened the the entry door for my woman and went up the steps to the window where you pay. The staff of men and women are courtious, friendly and greet you with a smile. Never have been to a bathhouse, we were initially nervous. After payment they buzzed us through the locked entry and we entered the lobby where there's a nice waiting area with couches and pictures on the walls. A hallway on the left and a hallway on the right. We stepped to the window where they hand you your room key and or locker key and one clean white towel per paid person. We said thank you and they replied "have a good time!" ( I forgot to say they have a membership available for purchase which is a good deal if you plan to attend more than once, really it's the best way to go). We went down the hallway to the right where it turns left, walked past the vending area which has snacks and drinks, right past the restrooms (which are sanitized clean and private with doors), to the right then up a few steps to the rooms. Rooms are available for 6 and 12 hours. We passed a few men in towels and one nude man walking . Everyone with smiles. No harassment of any kind. I may have forgotten to say my girl and I are in our mid 30's, fit , disease free, good looking and open minded. We entered our room and it was pretty small ( not bad for the price and it serves its purpose). There is a small bed and mattress with clean sheets, an attached small table with storage area underneath, a couple of hooks on the wall for clothing and a light dimmer switch. I closed the door behind us ( automatically locks) and together we sat on the bed looking at each other smiling. With music playing for everyone to hear and open ceilings between rooms we became more relaxed. We could hear a few people talking in the other rooms but, all in all it was pretty quiet. We went down the steps, past the showers and down a different hallway. We passed several couples nude and in towels in the hallways while we went on our tour. Last week was my first time to Steve's Bath house in Reno NV. I am from the Portland area which has Steam Portland one of the west coast's best male sauna venues. So back to Steve's.....by comparison, it is small, outdated, and dark with a old man type vibe. The front desk personnel were in a rush and not personable upon check in. It was almost as if I interrupted their day while paying and grabbing towels. Um HELLO? Really?? Patrons contribute to your pay check, this is still customer service.... Anyway it's Reno what can you expect right? The porn room is pretty cool though VERY small. The outdoor patio was private and nice and they do have SMALL but very fun glory holes. It would be nice to see somewhat of who is on the other side. The showers were average and the Steam room was miniature. The dry Sauna is nice but a bit too warm. The halls should be wider and the rooms were also too small. The building just needs an entire remodel. I like the private location and discreet entrance area. It definitely does not compare to Steam in Portland. There is fun to be had, you just have to catch it on the right night. Co ed night is odd at an establishment that kind of markets itself as a gay sauna. I went three different times in the week I was in Reno. Yikes. Its always good to be reminded of how incredible your life is when you're feeling grumpy and resentful. I was feeling a little of both of those when I arrived at Steve's late one night. The counter staff was friendly enough, honest when I asked him about quantity of men in the club and even offered to give me a tour, which I respectfully declined. The place is drab, poorly lit (not in a sexy good way) and just generally depressing. I roamed around for about two minutes (that's how small it is) then headed to my room. During this roam I saw one other guy. The room couldn't have lifted my spirits if it was full of antidepressants. I sat fully clothed on the bed, weighed my options then stood up and walked out.
