I'm not much of a golfer but my best friend, Jordan, is. She loves this course, and drags me along with her sometimes. I say she drags me, because that's our little joke. I actually adore this course. It is much too difficult for me: like I said, I am NOT a strong golfer. However, I try and we have so much fun! The course is beautiful. It can be a bit noisy from the nearby traffic, but other than that, this course is tops! The staff are wonderful, and I really enjoy shopping in the Pro Shop. I also love imbibing at the Veranda & Grill. They have a full bar, and Tom loves the cigar selection! read more

Beautiful course, "a hidden gem." This course is the cheapest course in DFW which was rated among the best in TX. Not too crowded, either. It is challenging for all skill levels, and I enjoyed it as a beginner. read more

The course is in absolute sensational condition! The greens were nearly all perfect, and even though there are walkers, the pace of play was consistent. The new carts have GPS, very comfortable and a cover for the clubs, if needed. This course continues to be in our rotation, and as an added bonus, the neighborhood is beautiful. read more

Lots of elevation changes and its close proximity to Downtown Dallas make this course one to check off of your Dallas golf bucket list. Conditions are excellent and the scenery is top notch with several expansive views of the downtown skyline while your teeing off. There's no driving range at this course so make sure you warm up elsewhere before showing up. (Unless you don't mind hitting into a net a few times.) Don't be fooled by its short yardage, Par 70 scorecard. This course is challenging for all levels with lots of forced carries and tight fairways. Fun layout and pretty short. Greens are in terrible shape. Normally this is a well kept public course but the greens are pretty bad.

Really an awful experience today. We've played the course many times and it is a classic track. Been a couple of years and something has changed radically in the management. The pro shop and management make no attempt at providing a quality experience. Never saw anyone but the cart girl on the course and it was a total zoo experience. 4 hours to play 14 holes and we just gave up. No marshals. People playing two balls, straying into other fairways interrupting play, music blaring, people hitting balls into foursomes in front, drunken/loutish behavior, etc. When I told the pro shop as I left that we were quitting early, had never seen a marshall, and were really disappointed. The response was "thank you, sir. thank you sir" and sho-ed me out the door. A classic example of terrible leadership. Really a nice track that I first played in the Dallas Open back in the 1970s. The renovations are really an excellent improvement. If the management cared just a little bit, made just a little effort, understood that customers are important, this would be a great place to play. Instead, with so many options in Dallas go elsewhere, get a driving range to warm up, and the sense that when you pay someone is actually earning it. read more

Went to Stevens Golf course w/ Son-In law on St Paddys Weekend. The first time we played golf together was at this course. They have since renovated and it is a very fun course to play with lots of trees and bunkers. The have a fantastic deck with ceiling fans overlooking the course and just by itself would be worth going for a beer and hot-dog just to take in the scene. The Dallas Downtown Skyline is visible on many of the Holes. Just a wonderful place to spend some time at. Can't wait to go back again. read more

1....this is my favorite golf course but trying to set up a time??? its hard!! its always full and when you get to play, the staff and marshall are rushing you and telling you to either hurry up or let people thru....let people thru????? when there is a 4some in front of us (2 walkers-2 riders-1 lady that cant play??)another 4some behind us and is just 2 of us???come on!! 2....few weeks ago i invited my co-workers to try out stevens(5some=$250 dlls on a sunday morning)everything was going good but after the 11th hole this staff member/marshall aproached us and told us that we needed to hurry up a little bit that we were 2 minutes behind pace???...after that he killed our game....he kept waiting on us at every hole...that got on my nervs....sometimes i think that they just want your money and thats all, because they will rush you and pressure all the way to the end, cant even enjoy playing there.....im glad mesquite golf course just opened up... will be glad to take my $$$ over there and invite my co-workers to play there as well, sorry city of dallas but you wont make a dollar out of me no more, mesquite will..... 10 handicaped first golf course ever to tell us to hurry up...we do keep our pace so there was no need for them to rush us... read more

I have played here a couple times now. Such a nice course for a city owned facility. Greens fees are reasonable my only complaint is the slow play. The pull thru patio at the turn is a really nice area to stop for a bite to eat and down a beer while you are waiting to tee off on #10. read more

Play the newly renovated course this past weekend. I have played all over the metroplex and I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed. 1) Price: paid $45 for Saturday morning tee-time. On par with other public courses 2) Course condition: the fairways are nice and the greens are larger than most courses. It also putts very true and will challenge you with various undulations. 3) Challenging with many dog legs and will require accuracy and strategy. Plenty of green side bunkers that will force you to play a variety of shots. 4) Food: excellent service and the hot dogs were fresh off the grill. 5) Speed of play was about 4:15 hours, very good for a weekend round. Groups are separated well and they don't try to overbook their tee times like many golf courses. read more

My Father-in-Law and I played here last Sunday. The course was in GREAT shape and the pace of play was perfect. They do a great job in accommodating all the traffic they have out here. I would recommend this course! The course has some difficult holes and can really test your game. Take a chance and get out to this course! read more

This is one of my favorite courses to play! They renovated this course and I must say it Is beautiful. The club house, pro shop, restaurant, and scenery is awesome! Very affordable. There are short greens and tight fairways but my friend who has a high handicap was able to come and enjoy his experience here. Helpful staff. Most impressive with the maintenance of the course. Don't play here. My brother booked tee times for 9 of us for a bachelor party (we're older, so we aren't the crazy young types). We have people traveling in from all over Texas and California for this important weekend. Booked 2 months out and did everything we could have done to make sure we stayed booked. At initial contact, the course sent a novel of an email that had buried at the end a note saying that full payment was due within 8 days of the tee times. No other notices or mentions of the deadline for payment. My brother tried reaching the "Director of Golf" several times both by phone and email to confirm the bookings but never received a returned call or email until 2 days from the event. The email told us that the booking had been cancelled. When we called to discuss we were met with a "who cares" attitude from them and they were very rude about it. Our guess is they had a bigger tournament want to play and didn't have the common decency to let us know ahead of time. Now we're scrambling to find another place for our group to play with 2 days notice. I've booked several tournaments over the past few years, some very big. I've never been treated like this. Not even remotely. Don't waste your money and don't play here. There are too many other equally good places to play in DFW. read more

I played Stevens Park for the first time last Thursday (9/14). What a nice facility! A very well kept operation with first class staff. I thought the drive-thru at the turn was pretty sweet and found the grill to be very clean with courteous and friendly service. Monica and Jeanette went out of their way to recommend items; the nachos were excellent! If you live in the Dallas area and have not played this course, I would highly recommend you do. From the blues, it plays a little over 6,000 yards with a lot of diversity and, on the back nine, some picture-worthy views of downtown Dallas. I look forward to playing this course on a regular basis. One note: I heard that it is pretty busy on the weekends, so weekdays might be better; I had no issues going off at 9:45. read more

Just an amazing experience at this so called muni. I've been to private clubs that weren't as nice as this place. The staff and the facilities were great. The only reason it is not a 5 star was due to the lack of a driving range but that is totally understandable in the middle of the beautiful neighborhood. This is a challenging course but yet forgiving. Very creative with the perfectly round and square greens. Lots of fun. Highly recommend. read more

Played Wed, 6/22/16. Overall course in beautiful condition thanks to wet spring. But maintenance on the greens (aerating, fertilizing, seeding) left them barely playable--and no advance notice; on-line, on phone or when checking in. A 10-20% discount would have been appreciated. Also thought the course's GPS cart shut-down system was a bit 'Big Brother-ish' for my taste. However, the National Geo-grade hawk-on-squirrel predation was eye-catching. read more

Stevens is always in great shape and since the renovation, very challenging. Jim Henderson and his staff go way out of their way to to make this anything but the normal "Muny" experience. Food and food service are top not notch. Pro Shop is well stocked with lots of shirts, shoes, hats and other clothing items that you would actually want to buy. First Class all the way read more
