Ordered a coffee with cream & a chocolate croissant. Was told the chocolate croissant was sold out, so I ordered a regular croissant. After waiting over 10 minutes, I was given a black coffee, no croissant. The guy looked confused and indicated that he had told me it was sold out. I reminded him that I had changed the order from a chocolate croissant to a plain croissant, and he didn't understand what I was saying. At that point I left. I really wanted to support a local business instead of heading over to dunkin' donuts but I would have been in and out. For what it's worth, there were plenty of plain croissants. I didn't want to reorder and wait another 15 minutes for something that could be handed over immediately.

If you need a noise controlled little spot for a work from home setting. Steven's Cafe is IT! Ambiance: Upon walking in, you see a beautifully modernized decorated cafe with classical music at a moderate level. Spacious with beautiful tables and the smell of fresh coffee and bagels. Definitely an instagram worthy spot with booths all equipped with outlets and the window seats also have ports for chargers as well. Even when theres a bit of a crowd the noise is still at a good level to hold phone call meetings privately! Food: A solid range of menu items whether you're someone who wants a savory breakfast, they offer fresh omelettes, breakfast sandwiches and bagels with various cream cheese! For the sweet breakfast, they offer so many different pastries fresh from the oven! I opted for a toasted bagels with cream cheese because I'm a sucker for a good jersey bagel ! Drinks are the same with variety, from Americanos to smoothies to matcha lattes. Something for everyone is an understatement! I got the matcha latte. Service: I showed up when it wasn't busy so everything was made for me very fast and served very fast! The staff members greeted you with a smile and everyone was very nice when serving and collecting my plate when I was finished. I love finding cafes to work from with the music at a regular volume because it's hard to make some calls with music blasting. They also play classical music which is actually quite helpful for focus with some! (Yes I am that "some") . All in all I will make this a regular spot! Plenty of street parking too! Cafe prices here are standard. I spent ten dollars for my medium latte and bagel

    The Bergen Wrap

Steven's Cafe in Jersey City does not miss with their Bergen Wrap. During my two-week mission on the East Coast to sample every breakfast burrito the city had to offer, this one easily stood out as the best I've had so far. The proportions were spot-on--perfectly balanced with a layer of bacon well cooked egg--and the presentation was a flawless 10/10. I was starving and ended up devouring it, with every bite proving to be even better than the last. Paired with a refreshing iced coffee made with coconut milk, this meal hit the spot. Although I ordered via DoorDash and couldn't experience the in-person ambiance, the burrito is more than enough for me to go back.

First time visit. Red eye (coffee and espresso) was great. So was the avocado toast with an added poached egg with an included side spring mix salad. Nicely decorated and friendly service. Only critique is a bit of a wait for the order and $20 for the breakfast for one which was not particularly large and filling. But, it was very tasty. And, be sure to feed your meter on the street. I saw someone with their blinking hazards get a parking ticket as soon as I parked.

Great coffee. Tons of open seating. Lots of pastry selection and macarons also. Only downfall is that it smells very off inside. It isn't a rotting smell, but like a ton of cheap air freshener mixed with something so I couldn't work inside.

Cute, local spot in Rutherford NJ on Park Avenue. Service sometimes is slow. I think once my husband waited like 30 minutes for our two bagels & coffee order. However, food is good for what it is - bagels, pastries, omelets etc Also, a bit on the pricey side

Steven's cafe is my favorite treat! Delicious desserts and flaky pastries, fresh donuts and huge bagels, yummy breakfast. The guys working there are the sweetest and so professional. They keep the place super clean. I usually go for the iced coffee ($4) my daughter loves their smoothies ($6). Also their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches ($5) are tastier than any deli around town. Service could be a little faster but we ll wait a little longer for excellent quality!

This was my second time at Steven's Cafe and first time bringing my family. We happen to be in the area and I suggested it bc of how much I enjoyed it the first time. Clean, modern atmosphere. Solid town cafe where people seem to gather to catch up or to do work. Huge selection of foods and pastries. Definitely great, freshly made foods

What a lovely addition to Park Ave. I've been to a Stevens cafe before and I'm not sure if this one is newer but I definitely enjoyed my experience here better. I'd been following them on Facebook and when I saw they had a pistachio cream filled croissant I had to go and get one! So delicious, super fresh and flaky. The pistachio cream was perfect, I wouldn't change a thing. The staff was also friendly. They have a ton of other breakfast goodies. They also offer sandwiches, parfaits, and I saw just about every bagel you could imagine. Overall a great shop, a bit pricey but it's a nice treat once in a while.

Within a walking distance from Rutherford Station, Steven's Cafe is a great addition to high-end restaurants nearby. Interior finishes are very modern: wood slats, beige stone flooring, black (jet mist color) countertop and chairs, green wall and Dyson Airblade in the one-person restroom. We tried a small cup of cold brew and a mango passion smoothie. Although I didn't expect ice cubes in cold brew (I usually don't like diluted cold brew) but not bad. The mango smoothie mixed with almond milk was not too heavy but not too light. The selection of jazz, gently reverberated in the very open space with high ceiling, was good enough for a rainy night.

Very modern and clean ambiance with plenty of seating and charging outlets, which is needed when you are about to go to a coffee shop for a few hours to write, drink and eat. Staff is very nice and polite and make you feel like a guest in free to roam. Coffee is good if you order something fancy like a cappuccino. Also their açaí bowl is definitely recommended. It was filling and refreshing in all the ways. Would definitely get again. Bathrooms are also clean which is always a plus!

Very warm, welcoming and chic. The service was great, our waitress was very helpful with recommendations. For my drink I got the Sage Whisper. It was delicious. I would definitely recommend if you enjoy gin. We ordered the Feta cheese turnover. It was good but could definitely be better. The block of feta was so massive that it overpowered the dish. If they use like half the amount of feta and added more honey it would've been perfect. I was also expecting apricot to be incorporated into it, but it was just on the side. If they had a layer of apricot jam inside that would literally take it to the next level. For dinner I ordered the Bistecca. My steak was could perfectly but the flavor was a little lacking. Luckily I love steak so i still enjoyed it but I think if it was sliced and topped with the chimichurri and some flaky salt it would've been a lot more flavorful. The steak was also a very generous portion. I did have my eye on the Orecchiette Rabe e Sausage. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely come back to try it.

There were so many excellent options on Park Avenue that it was hard to select one, but we wound up settling on Suprema. The restaurant was an easy 5-minute walk from the train station and was, thankfully, very warm and cozy inside on that chilly evening. The service that we experienced throughout the night was also very friendly and gracious. After we were seated, we were told that the restaurant was BYO and that there was a liquor store across the street. I decided to quickly run over and grab a bottle of wine, since we had some time to enjoy our meal before the show started. In addition to the bottle of red, we began our dinner with a complementary bread basket and an appetizer to share. Sadly, the slices of bread were rather dry and hard, so I only indulged in a few bites. However, our Rice Ball starter was unbelievable! We received three massive, fried spheres of creamy risotto and gooey mozzarella that were sitting in a sweet, herbaceous basil pomodoro sauce. They were honestly the best arancini I thought I had ever had! For my main course, I ordered the Chicken Porcini, which included two large Bell & Evans boneless chicken breasts, served over a light, creamy golden potato puree. The poultry was topped with fresh, roasted cremini and porcini mushrooms, as well as a sweet wine and porcini glaze. It felt like an upscale, modern version of a chicken marsala. I adored every aspect of the dish, from the tender chicken to the aromatic mushrooms to the homestyle mashed potatoes (an item I do not even typically like). Suprema provided a stellar meal in a relaxed atmosphere that was the perfect pre-concert vibe we were looking for. Plus, the food was amazing, so we definitely made a wise choice in picking the place.
