When I went in for my exam, Dr. Elizabeth Neville, is so thoughtful and thorough. I was having a hard time seeing at night and she helped me navigate my dry eyes that I didn't know was making such an impact. I told her I didn't have dry eyes turns out I do quite bad. She really listened to me, rare in dr's these days.

Dr. Bogden actually called me at work and argued with me over wanting my records! How unprofessional!! I then turned them into OCR for a HIPPA violation which it was taken over by the OCR for investigation. He accused me of non-payment for products I hadn't even received yet due to their office closing for 4 months due to covid.... yet I was blamed for not paying for a product I had not received yet NOR did I ever receive a prior bill so it could have been paid. I sent in a check with my request for my records and they claimed they never saw the check which was wrapped inside the letter... so if they got the letter, they got the check yet it came off missing - very untrustworty! Receptionist also did not know how to code claims properly therefore my insurance did not pick up the cost for my exam sending it back to me.... BAD service! Watch your bill! And your rights!

Went in, met the owner and assistant, they were very friendly and did my adjustment for free. On reaching my car, I slipped and fell on the ice. It was apparent to me my ankle was broken, so I sent my daughter in for help. She came back saying no one was willing to help, and the doctor had told her she parked in the wrong area. We then figured out how to slide me-bottom down on the ice, I was able to get next to my car. While attempting to hoist myself into the car without putting weight on my ankle, the doctor came out, took a picture, and again informed me we had parked in the wrong area. I was able to get myself in the van, my daughter drove me to the hospital, where it was confirmed my ankle was broken. I realize in this day and age everyone is afraid of being sued, and I'm definitely not going to pursue that, people fall on ice all the time in winter. However the appalling way this was handled was not acceptable. How unkind.

It had the only eye doctor that did not give me a disrespectful hard time about refusing eye dilation. Dr. Vachon's exam and diagnosis, even with my cataract, was spot-on and I can now see things I've not seen in years. Eye dilations are for medical diagnosis only and not needed just to get an updated vision prescription. In fact, the only poor eye exam prescription outcomes I've had in my entire life - 4 of them in 2 states - were the result of eye dilations and the exams had to be redone every time, even when an ophthalmologist did them - at an average additional cost of $60! Penobscot's optician, Rebecca, also did an excellent job with their selection of frames and with fitting and finish work and my new glasses were ready in half the estimated time. I would highly recommend Penobscot Eye Care to anyone.
