I called Dr. Pier at 8:07 on a Monday morning and was sitting in his chair ten minutes later. (I was very close when I called). Dr. Pier used 4 different types of tests to determine what was really going on and found the problem. I appreciate his candidness and his real concern to help the patient. They tend to be expensive but it is in a wealthy area and he does use very modern techniques...and he did find the problem so that is worth a little more too!

After a number of calls to local dentists I found myself out of luck, no ability to get seen by a dentist. I then called Aspen Dental in Thomaston, ME and they said they accept walk-ins for urgent care. Yea!! So off I went to give it a try. Overall, a stellar experience for urgent care. Checkin was easy and the lady behind the desk and the business manager were very nice and welcoming. I waited about an hour to be seen and I felt like that was quick given they are trying to fit urgent care into the schedule. I was taken for an X-ray and then seated in an exam room. Dental tech was very nice and doctor as well. I got my answer and they called meds into my Maine pharmacy. I walked away with copies of the X-rays and a referral for further care. He made me so comfortable with dental work that I never understood why other people were afraid of the dentist. Then I moved away from the midcoast and had to find another one and finally understood, as no one has ever made me feel as comfortable as he and his office does. When I was home from college and needed an emergency appointment, he easily worked with my Mom to get me in. When I had to get crowns, he worked with me so that I could get the temporary ones over thanksgiving and then came back at Christmas for the permanent ones. My parents still go see him and are dreading the day he retires. If possible with my insurance, I'm going to work a way back into seeing him. His wife runs the front desk and is so kind. I've enjoyed talking with all the dental hygienists through the years, and most have stayed for many years, always another good sign. There is street parking in the front. It's a residential street in Rockland so it's not hard to find a space.

I called regarding my child having an extreme toothache. The pain was unbearable. I spoke with a…read morewomen named Kathy who was not helpful in any way. I mentioned wanting to sign up for insurance through their dental office and felt shut down immediately. I mentioned the insurance we currently have , for her to state that they did not accept that, which I was well aware of hints why I wanted to sign up for their in House insurance. I felt frowned upon for having the insurance that we currently have. I was also informed that no dental offices are accepting our current insurance nor new patients. I asked if that meant dental offices within a 2 hour radius of our location. Kathy replied back that yes infact no dental offices would accept our insurance or being a new patient. I left the conversation feeling defeated and frustrated. I kept doing my research and the very next day I found a dentist 40 minutes from us who are indeed accepting new patients and our current insurance. The women I spoke with also said if they cannot fit us in they have other dental offices they work with that would infact get the help and care my child needs. I would not recommend Mount Pleasant dental to anyone going forward!
