Upon moving to Dallas, my parents were referred to this practice & my doctor was Steven Linder who remained my doctor until his passing in 2015 even into my adulthood. Dr. David Owen took over Dr. Linder's patients & the transition went smoothly. Since Dr. Owen has taken over, I've seen him once a year. I appreciate the fact that he takes his time when he meets with me which gives me the opportunity to discuss any neurological issues I've had in the past year. He is very knowledgeable about medications for ADD & he is great at explaining how he thinks one medication will be more beneficial than another. Overall, I'm very pleased with the entire staff.

There's one young man who had his marbles and was cordial. The original provider, Dr. Linder passed away and we switched to Dr. Owen late last year. After receiving subpar service from the front office employee who challenged me on what my co-pay was, I complained to the manager for the second time. Both are idiots as I stated to the manager and she dismissed me from the practice. When a child has neurological problems, I expect and demand courteous behavior, which they don't do. Additionally, after being seen on 2/9/16, it took the doctors office until 2/24/16 to respond to CVS pharmacy to a required prior authorization from my insurance company in order to have a prescription filled. I left a total of five messages including the office manager and finally the young man at the front desk handled the situation after I kept calling. Thankfully, we found another neurologist a week and a half later who was able help my son in a timely and professional manner. If you're looking for a good provider and okay with sacrificing great patient interaction that is warm and inviting, it will be just fine. If the whole patient experience matters, move on. Dr. Owen is fine, just can't get past the two unprofessional people in the practice.

She paired us up with Dr. Neely and he's just a gem, SO amazing with little ones and took his time to answer the numerous questions had by concerned, first-time parents. Everyone from the Nurses, PAs and OAs were incredibly kind (shout out to the treats my son received from his nurse after multiple shots - tears be gone!) Fast forward a few weeks later and the office expeditiously completed all the forms I needed for last-minute daycare services (same day). Don't look any further, this place has it all!

We have seen Dr. Mitchell since my oldest was a newborn. I trust Dr. Mitchell with my sons' lives! I am a very anxious mom and my brain tends to catastrophise any new medical symptoms, but Dr. Mitchell has never dismissed my concerns and always takes time to explain things to me in a calming and reassuring manner without minimizing my concerns or making me feel ashamed for my intrusive thoughts. Never dismissive, never condencending, never once has come from a place of ego in instances when I have pushed back on his assesment/dignosis. Dr. Mitchell always says "you are the expert on your own child" and will agree for additional testing if I don't feel at peace with something regarding my children's health. I have never once in all these years felt rushed or unheard during our appointments or phone calls. Dr.Mitchell just deeply cares for his patients and goes out of his way to make their parents feel best equipped to care for them and guide them. I drive from Allen to FLP in Dallas no matter how bad the traffic may be, and will continue to do so no matter where we move next across the DFW metroplex. Additionally, in 8.5 years we were always seen the same day for sick visits. Some other excellent doctors at FLP we have seen for sick visits include Dr. Clark, Dr. Kravitz and Dr. Strong. In 8.5 years, we have only waited to be seen ONCE for longer than 30min. We have also only had positive experiences with the front desk staff and nurses. Side note for any anxious moms like me: best to skip scheduling with Dr. Tang. I am sure she is extremely qualified in medical expertise, but she leads with the worst case scenario. I am still scarred from taking my children to see her twice.

My child had some complications early on and the doctor that treated her either didn't know the procedures for that process or didn't remember. She claimed she forgot since it rarely happens, but I doubt that. Even so, if she didn't know or don't remember, ask someone who knows. The health and future of my child is in her hands. I'm not the expert, I'm trusting them to be, but the handling of the aftermath was messy and negligent. It was phone tag, a lost referral, and a non-apology apology. I don't recommend.

It is clear that this man -- Dr. Mark Godat -- has found his calling. The most impeccable bedside manner I have ever had the chance to experience -- hands down. (I was with my sister when she had her exam and consult.) It's obvious from the beginning of your appointment until the end, to the phone calls in between to the portal and the responsiveness there that everyone is in the perfect role and clearly happy to be serving their patients.

I am new to the Dallas area and was looking for a family medicine clinic to establish care…read more Unfortunately, this location has made that process unnecessarily frustrating and unprofessional. I have now driven from Irving to this clinic twice in the past two weeks, only to be told both times that my appointment had been canceled -- with no explanation given and no prior notification. Each visit cost me a day of work, plus hours spent calling my employer's HR department and my insurance company to confirm my coverage. Both confirmed everything was accurate and active. The problem was never on my end. What makes this worse is that the clinic seemed to place the blame on me for their own cancellations, rather than taking any accountability or offering a solution. I understand that schedules change and issues come up, but canceling appointments last minute without notice and then pointing the finger at the patient is not acceptable -- especially for someone trying to establish a new patient relationship. I've lost time, wages, and patience over this. If you're new to the area and looking for a reliable primary care provider, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. First impressions matter, and this one speaks volumes.

He is also engaged at UT Southwestern and had a medical student with him which was a plus in my mind. After working in teaching hospitals, I have seen how the young, whipper-snapper medical students can keep seasoned providers on their toes with the latest research. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The waiting room had a large fish tank which kept my infant and toddler completely entertained....and the best part? We were back in the car, both kids belted in, after a lost cellphone search, 25 minutes after our scheduled appointment! I have never been seen so quickly! As my number of visits increases, I might have more feedback, but thus far, I'm impressed! Update: We've been here a few years now and I'm continually impressed by Dr. Rivera, how he interacts with my kids and communicates with the adults in the family. He is always very timely--there's never an excessively long wait when I see him. I have seen Dr. Beamer three times though and had to wait over an hour after my appointment before seeing her.....which was less than ideal. This may/may not be related to the fact that she's the only MD present on those three occasions.... I also love the computerized charting system so I get a copy of the appointment's medical notes before I leave and the prescription (if needed) is sent to my pharmacy instantly. Pros: 1. Staff (Tammy, Juana, Madison and Dora are amazing!!). There also seems to be very little turnover in his staff which is great! 2. Computerized charting/medication prescription ordering system. 3. Dr. Rivera's competence. 4. Availability to schedule an appointment. 5. They accept Tricare. Cons: 1. The practice appears to be large...it took about 1.5-2 years for Dr. Rivera to recognize us . 2. The lab. I'm not a fan of dealing with the recommended lab.
