And he is very personable, telling stories, giving useful advise, and remembering our previous conversations. The banter between he and his wife (who works the desk and acts as his assistant) is part of the charm of this place, even if the building and waiting area look like a throwback to the 80s. This place really is great. They take my insurance, they work some Saturdays, they have a pretty open and flexible schedule.. One time, Dr Bernhard said he thought he saw a cavity, and that on my next checkup, he expected to do a filling. When I came back, he took another X-ray to be sure, and then decided that it was better to hold off and just keep an eye on it. That is doing dentistry for the patient first. He could have needlessly drilled my mouth and charged insurance, instead, he kept my best interest in mind and was more cautious.

Ever since leaving my pediatric dentist who I absolutely loved, I had been to quite a few dentists…read morewho have been far from ideal. When I finally found Dr. Dumanian, after one visit I knew I would be returning. She was not the first dentist to tell me I was grinding my teeth at night, but the first dentist who actually told me I needed a night guard. Because of her advice she literally saved my teeth! I have been lucky enough to not have many dental issues besides the grinding, but some people I have recommended to her have not been that lucky. A family member of mine saw doctor Dumanian for the first time after seeing a terrible dentist for decades, and she had to fix almost every single tooth in his mouth. He is now towards the end of his dental journey and could not be happier. She fixed what needed to be fixed, recommended him to some excellent specialists, and did some cosmetic work as well. He has perfect teeth now. In his words, she is a "perfectionist," which is exactly what you want in a dentist. The hygienist is also incredible. I personally never liked cleanings before she started cleaning my teeth because I'm used to pain, but she numbs you perfectly (no needles--don't worry just a gel) before she gets your mouth 100% clean. She also has an incredibly kind and gentle bedside manner, which is great for everyone but especially those people who tend to get nervous at the dentist. I always feel at ease in that office. Dr. Dumanian and her staff are the most brilliant, professional and kind people I have ever had the honor of letting care for my mouth. I honestly feel as if Dr. Dumanian, the hygienist and even the receptionist genuinely care about me.

He works entirely on his own with the exception of the receptionist, and is definitely not out there to make lots of $, which you can tell from the fact that you can't see the clinic's name from the street! He genuinely cares about your teeth and is extremely detailed in his explanations whenever there are complications. I love the fact that he really emphasizes prevention. He also has an amazing network of orthodontists he can send you to for more detailed work, and you can tell they fully trust eachothers' work. Not an awfully chatty salesman type dentist and a real gentleman who is confident and takes pride in his work. I would give him 6 stars for his more than fluent English and Japanese as well!

The actual room where you get your teeth done doesn't even have any walls. It looks like a warehouse space with a dentist's chair and partitioned by his cabinetry. His supplies either have a load of dust on them or are splattered with untold fluids. He kept pushing my husband and I to get our impacted wisdom teeth removed by him when we repeatedly requested for a referral to an oral surgeon. He says he is a professor at a university so I guess he knows his stuff but his appearances don't translate into that.

Patience from a dentist is hard to find now that every dentist has multiple bookings and they jump from treatment room to treatment room. Dr Mathe has 3 stations set up but he only works with one patient at a time. Maybe they will prep the next patient in the next room but no back and forth. I have kids. One, which was terrified of the dentist, now goes without issues to Dr. Mathe. Previously he was afraid to open his mouth to other dentists. Dr. Mathe explains and talks to kids at their level and makes it a positive experience and is therefore able to actually do a proper cleaning and treatment. He's takes the time to answer any and all questions and always explains what he's doing, what needs to be done and why and what your alternative options are. I've always felt that he hires good hygienists, too. I've been a patient for 7+ years and although hygienists have come and gone, they all do an excellent job at cleaning my teeth (which was not the case when I went to a couple other places covered by my insurance when I was working full time). He has a great sense of humor, too! I've always been self pay and he isn't cheap but it's worth it for quality care. He may be a bit old school in his approach but I think, with that, comes a sense of ownership and professionalism that is often lacking in other places.

It was always just a range of "ok" to "terrible" and I was just trying to get in and out as quickly as possible. Dental work, in general, is just not fun. But Dr. Seok and his dental assistants make it damn-near enjoyable, believe it or not. I've been seeing him for several months now, getting a series of fillings, root canals, and crowns. He clearly explains procedures before, during, and after. Sets realistic expectations, and works with you if you aren't initially happy with the result. Scheduling is soooo easy and convenient. Once you're an established client, they will text you with updates and you can even schedule/reschedule appts via text. The dental assistants are kind and helpful and always greet me by name. So in summary: A+ quality work A+ quality service The only dentist I'll ever see!

The fact that new patient forms included a bunch of waivers and the…read moredoctor couldn't do a cleaning without showering me with water should have been warnings one and two. Then after he did a root canal the insurance said he didn't fill the tooth properly and denied the crown. Warning number three. Because insurance wouldn't cover the crown I decided to pay for it out of pocket and that's when the nightmare began. Dr. Lee literally traumatized me with how much pain I went through and after all my suffering he wasn't even able to successfully complete the crown. I gave him two chances and the crown fell off each time. After that I asked for a refund and he tried to get me to come in to have him attempt the crown for the THIRD time. When I declined and insisted on a refund, he asked me to sign a liability release form that would prevent me from sharing the negative experience. After I refused to sign unless I could settle for damages before things got nasty and his office's reputation was impacted, he claimed I was "harassing" the office and terminated me as a patient. Honestly, Dr. Lee is clearly was incompetent so I wasn't going to subject myself to anymore pain and never intended on going back. I had already terminated him as my dentist. I just find the categorization of me holding him accountable as "harassment," ridiculous and laughable. Please learn from my experience. Dr. Lee doesn't care about his patients; when things go wrong instead of taking responsibility he will blame you, the patient.
